The visually impaired often experience difficulties because society's view tends to be less positive towards them. Not infrequently they are underestimated by society, family, and even themselves. The visually impaired are often seen as helpless, unable to stand up for themselves, and always willing to be helped. The community's treatment of them also tends to be merciful, which causes them to feel they don't have a place in society. This makes them tend to be insecure and limit themselves to interacting with the environment and lack the courage to do something. One of private institution that pays special attention to fulfilling the rights of the visually imppaired is Panti Karya Hephata. This research was conducted to see the social welfare efforts carried out by Panti Karya Hephata for the visually impaired. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and literature study. Based on the research that has been done, the social welfare efforts carried out by Panti Karya Hephata for the visually impaired are through self-development programs, formal education, work development, and mental-spiritual development.

Abstract: Pondok Tengah Village is a village located in Pegajahan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra Province. The location is in the middle of an oil palm plantation owned by PTPN IV Adolina, most of the work of the head of the family are employees of the plantation. Most of the employees' wives do not have side jobs other than being housewives. Economic shortages that are increasingly difficult during this pandemic make housewives rack their brains to meet the needs of life. The formation of this group is carried out on the basis of the same goal, namely to find ways or solutions to the economic difficulties they face. The method used in dealing with this problem is the social group work method as a method used for planned social change in small groups, based on the number of group members of four people. Empowerment of housewives is done by processing the yard around the house that has medicinal plants into herbal medicine as a solution to help their economy. Lokasinya berada ditengah perkebunan kelapa sawit milik PTPN IV Adolina, sebagian besar pekerjaan kepala keluarga adalah karyawan perkebunan tersebut. Kebanyakan dari istri karyawan tidak memiliki pekerjaan sampingan selain menjadi ibu rumah tangga. Kekurangan ekonomi yang semakin sulit dimasa pandemi ini membuat ibu rumah tangga memutar otak untuk memenuhi kebutuhan kehidupan. Pembentukan kelompok ini dilakukan atas dasar tujuan yang sama yaitu untuk mencari cara atau solusi dari kesulitan ekonomi yang dihadapi mereka. Metode yang digunakan dalam menangani permasalahan ini adalah metode Social Group Work sebagai metode yang digunakan untuk perubahan sosial terencana pada kelompok kecil, berdasarkan dengan jumlah anggota kelompok yang berjumlah empat orang. Pemberdayaan ibu-ibu rumah tangga dilakukan dengan mengolah pekarangan disekitar rumah yang memiliki tanaman obat menjadi jamu sebagai solusi untuk membantu perekonomian mereka.Kata kunci: pemberdayaan masyarakat; jamu; peluang usaha

Abstract: The Covid-19 outbreak that has hit has changed the learning system from full face-to-face to PJJ or a combination of face-to-face and distance learning or blended learning. Due to distance learning, many children, especially those in elementary school, experience a decrease in interest in learning. Therefore, the "Learning House" was formed as a forum to develop and increase children's learning interest in this new normal era. In its implementation the method used is the community intervention method. The purpose of this development is to increase children's enthusiasm for learning and teach children to socialize well between peers in study groups.Keywords: community empowerment; development; study houseAbstrak: Wabah Covid-19 yang melanda telah banyak mengubah sistem pembelajaran yang tadinya tatap muka penuh menjadi PJJ atau juga gabungan tatap muka dengan jarak jauh atau blended learning. Dikarenakan pembelajaran jarak jauh ini banyak membuat anak-anak khususnya yang lagi duduk di sekolah dasar mengalami penurunan pada minat belajar. Maka dari itu dibentukalah Rumah Belajar sebagai wadah untuk mengembangkan dan meninkatkan minat belajar anak dimasa new normal ini. Dalam pelaksanaannya metode yang digunakan adalah menggunakan metode intervensi komunitas. We cannot deny that the pandemic period makes children bored and bored due to the school system from home or online, it is not uncommon for children to feel lazy which causes their interest in learning to decrease, not to mention the children who are at the Kasih Setia Orphanage. The caretakers of the orphanage must think of ways to increase the children's interest in learning in the orphanage. Through PKL activities from the Social Welfare Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, it is hoped that it will have a positive impact on children at the Kasih Setia Orphanage."The Intervention Program used in this practicum is a general intervention consisting of; Intake, Assessment and Intervention Planning, Member Selection, Group Development, Evaluation and Termination. In addition, there is an increase in reading and speaking skills and their motivation in learning English. In addition, this program also provides benefits for both parties involved (orphans and students) socially and educationally. This means that there is a significant positive impact after the implementation of this program.

English translation. Adolescence is the transitional phase from children to adults. It is in adolescence that children feel emotional instability that makes adolescents easily stressed when facing problems. Moreover, the teenager is also easily affected by the outside world he sees without filtering out whether it is good for his development or not. Therefore, adolescents need social support from their surroundings. The social support obtained from the surrounding environment helps adolescents in their emotional development, so that adolescents are not easily stressed about the problems they face and are confident in solving them. This article is intended to strive for the provision of social support carried out by the author which is useful for the self-adjustment of the children of the Kasih Setia Orphanage Medan. The method carried out is the casework stage method proposed by Zastrow including the Engagement, Intake and Contract Stages, Assessment Stages, Intervention Stages, Planning Stages, Evaluation Stages and Termination Stages. With the social support provided by the author in the form of activities and programs, it is hoped that it can help increase the confidence and openness of orphanage children to the surrounding environment.

This study aims to look at the facts in the field regarding the life of the elderly in family care. The research location is in Environment IV Galang Kota, Galang District, Deli Serdang Regency. Data collection techniques with literature study, in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. Data obtained in the field were then analyzed by researchers who were described qualitatively. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive method that describes the facts in the field in depth. The results of the study show that the life of the elderly is still relatively good. Based on three indicators, namely: social life, economy and health of the elderly. Social life indicators consist of two, namely: family and community interactions. Overall good family interaction because active communication. Community interaction is not good because the condition of the elderly does not allow them to carry out activities with the community. Indicators of economic life are: finance, income and consumption. Finances cannot be seen because the finances of the elderly are managed by children who care for and mix with family finances. The income of the elderly is not good because the elderly are not working. Consumption of the elderly is good because the family can meet all the consumption needs of the elderly. Elderly health indicators are: physical, mental and social health. The physical health of the elderly as a whole is not good because the elderly experience various physical health problems. Overall mental health is good, except for one elderly showing symptoms of depression. The social health of the elderly as a whole is not good because of the condition of the elderly which is difficult to build relationships with the community environment. Kata Kunci: Lansia, kehidupan lansia, pengasuhan keluarga.

Cases of sexual violence against children are increasingly worrying. This should be an important concern that must be addressed immediately. One of the efforts that can be made in order to prevent the occurrence of sexual crimes against children is to provide reinforcement of sexual education for children and get rid of the taboo impression on this issue. This service activity was carried out using a comprehensive mentoring method for the children of the Damai Village of Binjai City through the socialization of the importance of sexual education in children in the form of delivering sexual education material that is suitable for children aged 6 to 9 years. The Intervention Program used in this Practicum activity is an Intervention with the Community Development method in which the implementation stages consist of; Engagement, Intake, Contract, Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation and Termination. The final output achieved from this activity is an increase in children's knowledge about sexual education and their skills in protecting themselves from situations that have the potential to lead to acts of sexual crime, so that they are able to interact socially properly and according to the norms in their social environment.

Social services are the duties and responsibilities of a country for existing social welfare problems. Social Welfare Requirements (PPKS) who are individuals, families, groups and/or communities who, due to an obstacle, difficulty or disturbance, are unable to carry out their social functions, so they need social services to meet their needs both physically and spiritually as well as socially adequately and It is natural to have different root causes and problem solving according to the type. The process of re-functionalization and development to enable a person to be able to carry out his social function properly in the life of the community then requires accelerated steps to achieve social rehabilitation itself. Program methods that are adaptive, responsive, structured and systematic will always respond to developments and adjustments to social welfare issues themselves. The Provincial Social Service as the task-bearer to assist the Governor in carrying out government affairs in the social sector and assistance tasks assigned to the Regions are always expected to be able to present an influential and quality accelerated acceleration of social services.

Teachers as educators should set a good example for students in a culture of fond of reading. Apart from teachers, parents also have a very important role in cultivating a culture of liking to read, because the most time students have is the time when they are with their parents at home. The environment also influences the growth of a reading culture. We can see this when students are not at school, so it cannot be denied that students spend more time watching TV, playing gadgets and students use it to chat with various applications. It is necessary to instill in students a culture of liking to read and awareness of the benefits of reading with this in mind that students realize that reading can improve student achievement. The problem solving process is carried out in the PKL 1 mini project activities using the casework method, through the general intervention stage which consists of: Engagement, Intake, Contract, Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation and Termination. What is the focus of the client's problem solving process is the lack of a culture of fond of reading books. This is because the client lacks the desire to read books. The objectives of the program have been achieved, as evidenced by the client always repeating at home the subjects taught at his school. The client always answers the questions given by the teacher correctly.
