Abstract

The aim of this research is to conduct a thorough bibliometric literature review of the complex and multifaceted relationships between language, ethnicity, and learning, using sophisticated computational techniques to map and analyze academic scholarship across diverse interdisciplinary domains. Using modern data mining and network analysis approaches, the researchers deconstructed established educational research paradigms by carefully examining publication trends, citation networks, and topic clusters. The complete investigation indicated that linguistic and ethnic variety are not educational impediments, but rather rich reservoirs of cultural information and cognitive flexibility, calling into question traditional deficit-oriented theories of academic comprehension. The findings revealed that bilingual and multilingual learners had significantly improved cognitive capacities, such as superior executive functioning, metacognitive skills, and cross-cultural problem-solving abilities, which go beyond typical monolingual learning frameworks. The study revealed significant regional discrepancies in knowledge production, with academic work mostly centered in North American and European institutional environments, emphasizing systemic imbalances in global knowledge formation. By repositioning linguistic and cultural diversity as fundamental intellectual strengths rather than limitations, the study offers transformative insights into developing more inclusive, equitable, and dynamic educational strategies capable of effectively responding to the complexities of an increasingly interconnected global academic and technological landscape. The findings not only challenge existing educational paradigms, but also offer a nuanced, comprehensive framework for understanding cognitive potential across diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, eventually advocating for a more holistic, culturally responsive approach to learning and academic

Abstract

This study is prompted by the advancement of corpus-based methods in the realm of grammar education. The primary objective of this research is to assess the requirements and the perceived significance of integrating corpus linguistics into the methodologies of grammar instruction. Employing an experimental research approach, the study involves participants who are undergraduate students majoring in Indonesian Language and Literature Education as well as English Language Education. The research utilizes the Leipzig Indonesian Mix_2013 and English-corpus.org corpora. The outcomes of this investigation offer an insight into the teaching of grammar through the incorporation of corpora, drawing comparisons based on the outcomes prior to the experimental sessions. The findings from this study highlight that the implementation of corpus linguistics within grammar learning and teaching methodologies yields a favorable impact on students' comprehension of grammar rules. The analysis of needs underscores students' recognition of the importance of integrating corpus elements into grammar education, particularly given the diverse and evolving language contexts prevalent in daily life. This perception is further reinforced by the results of the experimental phase, which demonstrate a substantial enhancement in grammar comprehension within the group exposed to corpus-based instruction. The deeper understanding gained regarding the real-world application of grammar in communicative scenarios equips students with enhanced readiness to apply grammatical concepts effectively in practical contexts. In conclusion, this research underscores the pivotal role of corpus linguistics in augmenting the efficacy of grammar education. The study provides valuable insights into the potential advantages associated with the integration of corpus-driven methodologies into language instruction, considering the dynamic nature of language usage in contemporary society. Furthermore, the outcomes emphasize the significance of aligning teaching practices with the evolving landscape of language usage.

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the systematic use of deictic expressions in hate speech targeting presidential candidates on platform X during Indonesia's 2024 election campaign period. This research seeks to understand how linguistic mechanisms, particularly deixis, function as strategic tools for constructing power relationships, facilitating dehumanization, and undermining democratic discourse in digital political communication. The study employs a descriptive qualitative design using a cyber-pragmatic approach to analyze hate speech on social media platform X during Indonesia's 2024 presidential election campaign, with data collected through observation and screenshot documentation of linguistic phenomena containing deictic expressions, followed by analysis using note-taking techniques to identify hate speech components and their linguistic patterns. Based on the analysis of 45 hate speech incidents targeting Indonesian presidential candidates on social media platform X during the 2024 election campaign, the study reveals that Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka received the highest targeting (44.4%), followed by Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (37.8%), with insults and profanity comprising the dominant category (34.8%) of hate speech. The deictic analysis demonstrates that social deixis shows the strongest correlation with ethnic attacks and stereotyping, while systematic dehumanizing language patterns vary distinctly across candidate pairs, reflecting deep political polarization facilitated through strategic linguistic positioning mechanisms. The systematic distribution of hate speech through deictic linguistic strategies during Indonesia's 2024 presidential election campaign, which disproportionately targeted certain candidates through social deixis-facilitated ethnic attacks and dehumanization, necessitates the immediate implementation of AI-powered pattern recognition systems, real-time monitoring protocols, and comprehensive digital literacy programs to protect democratic discourse integrity and safeguard future electoral processes.

Abstract

The rapid development of large language models (LLMs) has fundamentally transformed contemporary perspectives on language representation and processing. Models such as GPT, Gemini, Claude, Llama, and DeepSeek demonstrate remarkable capabilities in language comprehension, generation, translation, summarization, and reasoning, raising important questions regarding their relationship to human language processing. While psycholinguistic theories traditionally explain language through cognitive mechanisms involving perception, memory, attention, semantic representation, and executive control, LLMs rely on statistical learning, neural network architectures, and large-scale pattern recognition. The present study synthesizes contemporary research examining the similarities and differences between human language processing and LLM-based language representation. Employing a qualitative systematic review, the study integrates empirical findings published between 2018 and 2025 from psycholinguistics, cognitive science, neuroscience, computational linguistics, and artificial intelligence. The findings indicate that LLMs successfully approximate numerous observable characteristics of human language behavior, including syntactic processing, contextual prediction, semantic association, discourse coherence, and pragmatic inference. However, important differences remain regarding grounding, intentionality, episodic memory, emotional experience, and embodied cognition. Although LLMs provide valuable computational models for investigating psycholinguistic theories, they cannot currently be considered cognitive equivalents of human language users. Instead, they represent sophisticated probabilistic systems that emulate linguistic behavior without reproducing the complete cognitive architecture underlying human communication. The review discusses theoretical implications for psycholinguistics, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence while identifying future research directions for integrating computational and cognitive approaches to language.
