Abstract

Oil palm processing is one of the factors that determine the success of an oil palm plantation business. The Palm Oil Mill (PKS) in the context of the palm oil industry in Indonesia is understood as the unit of extraction of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and palm kernel from the Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) of oil palm. The Palm Oil Mill (PKS) is the most upstream processing unit in the palm oil processing industry and is a critical point in the economic life cycle of palm fruit in particular and the palm oil industry in general. The purpose of this study was to find out how much percentage of palm oil loss was contained in the dregs of the press and to find out the optimal conditions for the screw press. The high or low percentage of oil loss in the process that occurs is influenced by several factors, namely the condition of the working pressure on the screw press and the capacity of the diluent water. The average percentage of loss of palm oil in the pressing process obtained from the data is June 5.07% with the norm of losses of pressed waste oil of 0.64%, the average of July is 4.92% with the norm of losses of pressed oil of 0, 64%, and an average of 4.98% in August with a normal loss of 0.64% of pressurized oil losses.

Abstract

Oil palm is a plantation crop that has an important role in Indonesia today. This plant is a plant that produces vegetable oil and its derivative products. The processing of oil palm empty bunches into particle board as a strategy for utilizing solid waste from oil palm processing has been carried out. The test was carried out to determine the hardness, weight and moisture content to produce particle board. The board making was carried out in April - August 2020. The location was at the Laboratory of Soil and Fertilizer at the College of Agricultural Agribusiness and Plantation (STIPAP) and the Laboratory of Industrial Chemistry Polytechnic Medan (PTKI). The results showed that the largest water content of oil palm empty fruit bunches was obtained by 44%, then for the weight of the content obtained 1.131 gr / cm3 with a ratio of 50% oil palm empty bunches fiber and 50% resin adhesive and a hardness test value of 76 kg. . The moisture content can affect the resistance and weight of the particle board so that drying is necessary. Meanwhile, the weight of the contents has an effect on particle density, thereby increasing the hardness of the material.

Abstract

The Palm Oil Factory (PKS) is a factory that operates to process Fresh Fruit Bunches/FFB into several products, the main products of the palm oil factory are Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel Oil (PKO). This research aims to measure temperature temperature in the distribution pipe between the turbine and the back pressure vessel which uses the observation method by observing directly. The results of this research show that on T1 on the first day the temperature was 161.5°C, on the second day there was a fairly low temperature drop at 142°C, on T2 it was not far from T1, on T3 there was a decrease in temperature in the boiler and at T4 there is a fairly low decrease and increase in temperature. Researcher Manarik concluded that a decrease in temperature between the distribution pipe between the turbine and the Back Pressure Vessel is a common occurrence in palm oil mills, and this can affect the operational efficiency and performance of the mill. Therefore, this research aims to determine the loss of heat energy. by conduction in the steam distribution pipe entitled "Analysis of Heat Loss by Conduction in the Steam Channel (Pipe) from the Turbine to the Back Pressure Vessel in a Palm Oil Mill (PKS) with a Capacity of 45 Tons/Hour"

Abstract

Water is a crucial factor in ensuring smooth and high-quality production in palm oil mills. Minerals present in water can lead to scale formation, sedimentation, and equipment corrosion. Therefore, the demineralization process with cation and anion regeneration is beneficial to maintain water quality in accordance with op- erational standards. Water plays a vital role in the industrial sector; boilers, as primary steam generators, transform water into vapor through heating. However, operating without good water quality can result in issues like scale formation and corrosion. In water treatment processes, chemical substances are required for purification, such as Nalco 3276 for flocculation and Nalco 8173 for flocculant retention. The mineral content in water also affects chemical reactions, such as causing scale formation in boilers and influencing reaction processes. Demineral- ization is frequently employed across various industrial sectors, including palm oil mills, to treat boiler feedwater and other raw materials. Maintaining stable boiler feedwater usage by controlling pH and total hardness prevents problems in pipelines. This research focuses on cation and anion regeneration to reduce min- eral content in boiler feedwater at PT. Bakrie Sumatera Plantations, Tbk Palm Oil Mill Kisaran, with the aim to analyze the regeneration process using H2SO4 and NaOH dosages and identify factors causing issues during regeneration.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze things that support the performance of thresher in palm oil mills, determine thresher performance with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and 5S methods in palm oil mills and analyze and provide solutions to improve thresher performance with a Total Productive Maintenance approach using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method and 5S on thresher in palm oil mills.. This research was conducted with descriptive and qualitative methods in improving the production performance of threser machines to determine the problems of threser machines that cause a decrease in machine productivity by analysis and discussion. Based on the results of the analysis and description of OEE measurement results in the PTPN V Sei Garo Threser machine, Measurement of the level of machine effectiveness using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method at PTPN V Sei Garo obtained the largest percentage of OEE on the Thresher machine at 91.66% and the lowest at 878.79%. The factors that have the largest percentage of six big losses on thresher machines are Idling and Minor Stoppage Losses of 1% and Equipment Faillure Losses of 0.37%.

Abstract

School is a formal educational institution that provides various opportunities for students to carry out educational activities. With this educational opportunity it is hoped that the growth and development of students can achieve the expected goals. The success or failure of education in achieving its goals after evaluating the graduates produced by the school. If the graduates are in accordance with what has been set in the educational goals, then the educational effort can be said to be successful, and if on the contrary it is considered a failure in this case, it can be understood how important the assessment of learning is in education. Examination or assessment is an important component in education, especially learning assessment, and is important because assessment activities are carried out at least with the aim of knowing (1) the success of learning that has been implemented, (2) student abilities. and understanding of the material being studied, and (3) valuable information. Very useful as feedback for teachers in improving the learning activities that have been carried out. Likewise, if male and female students get high results because they answer all the test questions correctly, then the test questions need to be reviewed so that the test questions match the equation of difficulty percentage and ability percentage, from a height. Because the attributes of a proper evaluation are evaluations that consist of components such as validity, reliability, objectivity, practicality, difficulty level, and test item rating elevation. Therefore, it is necessary for every teacher to carry out a good evaluation process in teaching so that each achieves educational goals and improves educational problems, and the benefits of evaluation in teaching Arabic are available to all elements of the education system. The results obtained from this study are as follows: The researcher found that the form of the midterm exam questions for the Arabic language subject at Imam Muslim Islamic Boarding School was in the form of an essay test and there were ten questions in total. The researcher found a classification of difficulty level for each question, 7 moderate questions, and 3 easy questions, so it can be concluded that all questions are good and feasible to use. The researcher found the classification of the level of differential power that was ideal for each question, one question was not good, one question was limited to adequacy, 4 questions were good, and 4 questions were very good. It can be concluded that all questions are considered good and acceptable so that we can use these questions.

Abstract

The increase in waste from palm oil processing in Indonesia has a very bad effect on the environment and society. In recent years ornamental plants are very popular in every community, they can help the oil palm industry in reducing the increase in waste by turning it into organic fertilizer. The aims of this study were to determine the content of N,P,K, C-organic, C/N produced from organic fertilizer mixed with empty fruit bunches (tankos) with LCPKS and to determine the effect of application of tankos compost fertilizer. on ornamental plants aglonema flowers. This research was carried out using the RAK method with two factors. The first factor is the use of the number of tankos (J). The second factor is the use of the amount of liquid waste (A). Each treatment combination was repeated 3 times. The data was processed using statistics with analysis of variance (ANOVA) test with DMRT further test at 5% level. The results of this study showed that the nutrient values of Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), C-organic, and C/N were very significant in each treatment. The effect of applying compost to aglonema flower plants was not significantly different.
