Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of ethnomathematics in Samer Jumputan batik at Sentra Batik Ayu, Kedunggudel, Sukoharjo. This motif combines Javanese and Kalimantan cultural elements, such as wajik, jumputan, samer, bulu ruai, and wallet. The research employs a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, including observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain comprehensive data. The study reveals the concepts of geometric transformation, including translation, reflection, rotation, dilation, and transformation combinations in batik patterns. The findings indicate that the Samer Jumputan motif can be used as a contextual medium in mathematics learning, particularly in geometric transformation concepts. In addition to enhancing students' understanding of mathematical concepts, this study also strengthens appreciation for local culture. Thus, batik serves as an effective educational tool while enriching culture-based learning.  Keywords: Batik Samer Jumputan, ethnomathematics, geometric transformation, culture-based learning

Abstract

This class action research aims to improve the learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SDN Joho 1 Sukoharjo on the material of cultural diversity in Indonesia through the use of diorama media. The background of this research is the low learning achievement of students due to the lack of use of concrete media in the learning process. The research took place in two cycles, each cycle consisted of steps of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This study involved nine fifth grade students, consisting of seven male students and two female students. Data were collected through observation of learning activities and learning outcome tests at the end of each cycle. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively to assess the improvement of students' learning achievement. The research findings showed an increase in students' learning achievement from cycle I to cycle II. Diorama media supports learners in understanding the material more effectively because it is able to present cultural concepts in a clear and interesting way. The conclusion of this study is that diorama media is effectively used to improve learners' learning achievement on the topic of cultural diversity in Indonesia.

Abstract

Student self-efficacy has been impacted by the change from online to face-to-face learning brought on by the COVID-19 epidemic. The goal of this study was to assess the class X students' degree of self-efficacy in learning mathematics for the academic year 2021–2022, at Colomadu Public High School in Karanganyar Regency. Research of this kind is qualitative. Questionnaires, interviews, and documentation were the methods used in this study to collect data. The class from which the research topic was drawn was class X MIPA 5. All of the students in class X MIPA 5 were given the questionnaire, and from the responses, a sample of 6 students was selected for in-person interviews using random and purposive sampling.The results showed that 11.11% or 4 students had a high level of self-efficacy. 66.67% or 24 students have a moderate level of self-efficacy and 22.22% or 8 students have a low level of self-efficacy. It can be seen from the mean classical self-efficacy score of 67.36%, the class X MIPA 5 SMA Negeri Colomadu, Karanganyar Regency, is included in the medium category.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pendekatan pembelajaran yang lebih baik antara pendektan pembelajaran langsung dan matematika realistik untuk membentuk proses berpikir siswa dalam pemecahan masalah Himpunan di SMP Negeri 02 Sukoharjo .Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental semu, dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 02 Sukoharjo Tahun Ajaran 2012/2013. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling, diperoleh sampel berjumlah 72 siswa, dengan rincian 36 siswa pada kelompok eksperimen satu dan 36 siswa pada kelompok kontrol. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah tes proses berfikir pada pemecahan masalah, dan tes kecerdasan sosial. Uji coba instrumen tes meliputi validitas isi, tingkat kesukaran, daya pembeda, dan reliabilitas. Uji prasyarat meliputi uji normalitas populasi dengan metode Liliefors, uji homogenitas variansi menggunakan uji Bartlett dengan statistik uji c2. Uji keseimbangan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol serta uji hipotesis menggunakan uji beda rerata dengan statistik uji t. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran matematika realistik lebih baik dari pada pembelajaran langsung dalam membentuk proses berfikir siswa pada pemecahan masalah himpunan bagi siswa di SMP Negeri 02 Sukoharjo. Abstract

Representational ability is an important element in understanding mathematical concepts. The temulawak approach (Techniques for Information Discovery, Processing and Insights for Computing), rooted in cybernetic theory, is integrated with R and developed as a learning tool to improve students' mathematical representation skills in understanding probability distribution concepts. The purpose of this study is to determine how integrating the temulawak approach with R software improves students' mathematical representation skills. The experiment was conducted on 18 student subjects enrolled in the Theoretical Descriptive Statistics course for the 2024/2025 academic year. Evaluations were conducted at the beginning of the course and at the end of each learning phase. The results of the analysis using a paired-samples t-test with α = 5% showed an increase in mathematical representation skills from the pretest to the posttest of 44,55%. The effect of this learning is considered significant (d > 0.8). These findings indicate that integrating temulawak and computational technology through R software improves students' mathematical representation skills. This study implies that integrating the temulawak approach with R software can significantly strengthen students' mathematical representation skills and conceptual understanding of probability distributions, thereby confirming the benefits of cybernetic-based learning approaches supported by computational technology.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggabungan metode Outdoor dengan Indoor Learning menggunakan sistem sepekan di luar sepekan di dalam (SEPUR SELAM) terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan Polinomial kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Tawangsari tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen semu. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes, dokumentasi, angket, observasi, dan wawancara. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI IPA 5 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Hasil analisis uji-t menunjukkan bahwa thitung = 6,098 > ttabel = 2,288 maka H0 ditolak. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan penggabungan metode Outdoor dengan Indoor Learning menggunakan Sistem Sepekan di Luar Sepekan di Dalam (SEPUR SELAM) terdahap prestasi belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan Polinomial. Sedangkan angket respon siswa menyatakan 100% siswa tertarik dan mengalami kondisi pembelajaran yang berbeda dengan penggabungan metode Outdoor dengan Indoor Learning, sedangkan 97,4% siswa termotivasi dan tidak mengalami kejenuhan. Kata kunci: Outdoor Learning;Indoor Learning;hasil belajar matematika Abstract: His research aims to determine the effect of combining Outdoor methods with Indoor Learning using a week-long system within a week in (SEPUR SELAM) on student achievement on the subject of Polynomial class XI Science at SMA Negeri 1 Tawangsari in the academic year 2017/2018. The type of research used is experimental research. Data were collected using tests, documentation, questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The sample in this study were students of class XI IPA 3 as the control class and XI IPA 5 as the experimental class. The result of the t-test analysis shows that t count = 6.098> t table = 2.288 then H0 is rejected. It was concluded that there was an effect of using the combination of Outdoor methods with Indoor Learning using the Sepekan System outside the Week in (SEPUR SELAM) at the level of students' learning achievement on the subject of Polynomial. While the student response questionnaire stated 100% of students were interested and experienced different learning conditions with the incorporation of Outdoor methods with Indoor Learning, while 97.4% of students were motivated and did not experience saturation. Abstract

Komunikasi matematis pada dasarnya adalah proses penyampaian gagasan matematika. Dengan menganalisis kemampuan komunikasi matematis, dosen dapat mengukur pemahaman mahasiswa dalam merepresentasikan konsep dan solusi untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan. Oleh karena itu, dalam pembelajaran relasi rekurensi sebagai salah satu materi perkuliahan Matematika Diskrit yang membutuhkan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan rekurensi, dosen perlu mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa semester VI Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Veteran Bangun Nusantara Sukoharjo dalam mengerjakan tes pemahaman relasi rekurensi. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis dan lisan berupa pedoman wawancara yang telah dinilai layak oleh validator. Penelitian yang dilakukan dengan grounded theory menyimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis tinggi mampu menggambarkan situasi masalah, menyatakan solusi menggunakan tabel dan penyajian secara aljabar, menginterpretasikan gagasan dalam bentuk tulisan, menggunakan bahasa matematika dan simbol secara tepat dan merepresentasikan konsep matematika dan solusinya. Sedangkan mahasiswa dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis sedang dan rendah tidak mampu dalam menginterpretasikan gagasan dalam bentuk tulisan. Kemampuan untuk menyatakan solusi masalah menggunakan tabel/bagan juga tidak dimiliki mahasiswa dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis rendah. Persentase capaian tertinggi kemampuan komunikasi matematis ada pada indikator menggambarkan situasi masalah sebesar 86,54%. Sedangkan persentase capaian terendah ada pada indikator menginterpretasikan gagasan dalam bentuk tulisan sebesar 48,07%
