Abstract

The problem that will be solved is: Girimulyo Village is one of the villages in Gunungkidul Regency where there have been suicide cases., There are three factors behind it, namely health, social, and economic problems. This Community Partnership Empowerment Program seeks solutions to problems by using the role of Healthy Villages to ensure the realization of inclusion in the elderly and disabilities in the Social, Health, and Economic fields. The methodology used is to strengthen Healthy Village cadres to carry out programs to overcome health, social and economic problems. In this Community Partnership Empowerment Program, there are outputs such as increasing the capacity of data collection, there is data on sorting out disabilities and the elderly in the village, there is an assessment of the needs of the disabled and the elderly, there is an increase in the capacity of Healthy Village cadres in providing services, there are operational standards of service procedures, there are additional skills in processed foods made from fish and moqf and knowledge of entrepreneurship and business management for representatives of people with disabilities, and the elderly and healthy village cadres. The role of the Healthy Village Team as in Girimulyo Village is very important in ensuring that people with disabilities and the elderly get attention, therefore in other villages organizations like this are very necessary and of course their role needs to be strengthened by being equipped with knowledge and skills and village funding support for the implementation of their activities.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The increasing levels of stress and mental health problems among university students, particularly those residing in dormitories, highlight the need for interventions tailored to the dormitory living context. Peer counselor training is one strategy to strengthen mental health support among students. This study aimed to examine the effect of peer counselor training on knowledge regarding counseling for mental health problems among students of the University Residence (Unires) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This quasi-experimental study employed a one-group pre-test–post-test design involving 43 students, selected using stratified random sampling based on dormitory clusters. The intervention consisted of a full-day, face-to-face peer counselor training delivered by a team of mental health professionals. Knowledge was measured using a questionnaire developed by the researchers based on the training module, administered before and after the training, and analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The mean knowledge score increased from 11.53 before the training to 12.33 after the training; however, this difference was not statistically significant (p=0.067). The majority of participants (95.3%) had previously received information about mental health, indicating a relatively high baseline level of mental health literacy, which may have contributed to the non-significant change in scores. In this study, peer counselor training did not demonstrate a statistically significant effect on mental health counseling knowledge, although a descriptive increase in mean scores was observed. Nevertheless, the training may still be beneficial as an effort to strengthen and maintain knowledge and could be further optimized through more intensive practical sessions and ongoing supervision. Keywords: Peer Counselor, Mental Health, Dormitory Students, Training.  ABSTRAK Fenomena meningkatnya tingkat stres dan masalah kesehatan mental di kalangan mahasiswa, khususnya pada mahasiswa yang tinggal di asrama, menuntut perlunya intervensi yang sesuai dengan konteks kehidupan di asrama. Pelatihan konselor sebaya merupakan salah satu strategi untuk memperkuat dukungan kesehatan mental di kalangan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pelatihan konselor sebaya terhadap pengetahuan tentang konseling masalah kesehatan mental pada mahasiswa University Residence (Unires) Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Penelitian kuasi-eksperimen ini menggunakan desain one-group pre-test–post-test dan melibatkan 43 mahasiswa yang dipilih dengan teknik stratified random sampling berdasarkan klaster asrama. Intervensi berupa pelatihan konselor sebaya tatap muka selama satu hari penuh oleh tim profesional kesehatan jiwa. Pengetahuan diukur menggunakan kuesioner yang disusun peneliti berdasarkan modul pelatihan, diberikan sebelum dan setelah pelatihan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon signed-rank. Rerata skor pengetahuan meningkat dari 11,53 sebelum pelatihan menjadi 12,33 setelah pelatihan, namun perbedaan tersebut tidak signifikan secara statistik (p=0,067). Mayoritas peserta (95,3%) sudah pernah mendapatkan informasi tentang kesehatan mental sebelumnya, yang mengindikasikan literasi dasar kesehatan mental yang relatif tinggi dan berpotensi berkontribusi terhadap tidak signifikannya perubahan skor. Pelatihan konselor sebaya pada penelitian ini tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan secara statistik terhadap pengetahuan konseling kesehatan mental, meskipun secara deskriptif terjadi peningkatan rerata skor. Namun demikian, pelatihan tetap berpotensi bermanfaat sebagai upaya penguatan dan pemeliharaan pengetahuan, serta dapat dioptimalkan melalui sesi praktik yang lebih intensif dan supervisi berkelanjutan.Kata Kunci: Konselor Sebaya, Kesehatan Mental, Mahasiswa Asrama, Pelatihan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT High levels of stress can affect psychological well-being and encourage self-harming behavior, especially among medical students who are in a transitional phase and have a high academic workload. This study aims to analyze the relationship between stress levels and self-harm among medical students. This study is a cross-sectional study of 153 active students in the medical program at Muhammadiyah University Yogyakarta class of 2024, selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments were the ISAS (Inventory of Statements About Self-Injury) to assess self-harm and the PSS-10 questionnaire to assess stress levels. The data were analyzed using the Pearson Chi-Square statistical test using SPSS software. The results showed a significant relationship between stress levels and self-harm behavior (p0.05). These findings indicate that stress that is not handled adaptively can encourage individuals to use maladaptive coping strategies, including self-harming behavior. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve emotional regulation skills, social support, and psychological counseling programs on campus to help students manage stress in a healthier way. Keywords: Stress, Self-harm, NSSI, Medical Student.  ABSTRAK Tingkat stres yang tinggi dapat memengaruhi kesejahteraan psikologis dan mendorong munculnya perilaku melukai diri sendiri (self-harm), khususnya pada mahasiswa kedokteran yang berada pada fase transisi dan memiliki beban akademik yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat stres dengan kejadian self-harm pada mahasiswa kedokteran. Penelitian ini merupakan studi potong lintang pada 153 mahasiswa aktif di prodi kedokteran Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta angkatan 2024 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian adalah kuesioner ISAS (Inventory of Statements About Self-Injury) untuk menilai self-harm dan kuesioner PSS-10 untuk menilai tingkat stres. Data dianalisis dengan uji statistik Pearson Chi-Square menggunakan perangkat SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat stres dengan perilaku self-harm(p0,05). Temuan ini memperlihatkan bahwa stres yang tidak tertangani secara adaptif dapat mendorong individu menggunakan strategi koping maladaptif, termasuk perilaku melukai diri. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya peningkatan kemampuan regulasi emosi, dukungan sosial, dan program pendampingan psikologis di lingkungan kampus untuk membantu mahasiswa mengelola stres secara lebih sehat. Kata Kunci: Stres, Self-Harm, NSSI, Mahasiswa Kedokteran.
