Abstract

Entisols had a great potential for maize planting area expansion in increasing its production. The low soil fertility could be improved by application of coastal sediment. This current research examined the effect of different amount of coastal sediment on nutrient availability and maize production on Entisols, West Kalimantan. The research was conducted from July to November, 2013 in green house, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanjungpura University, West Kalimantan. The treatment conducted was the application of coastal sediment at dosage of: 0 Mg ha-1 (L0), 14 Mg ha-1 (L1), 28 Mg ha-1 (L2), 42 Mg ha-1 (L3), 56 Mg ha-1 (L4), 72 ton ha-1 (L5), 86 Mg ha-1 (L6) and 100 Mg ha-1 (L7). The treatments were arranged by completely randomized design with 3 replications. Research results showed that 42 Mg ha-1 coastal sediment was the best treatment and able to increase soil nutrients availability and maize productivity. The provision of coastal sediment increased the availability of K, Ca, Mg and Na, also the availability of nutrients in accordance with the increase of the dosage of coastal sediment.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi sifat-sifat kimia tanah dan rekomendasi pemupukan pada tanaman kelapa sawit. Pengambilan sampel di Desa Belitang II Kecamatan Belitang Kabupaten Sekadau. Parameter dalam penelitian ini adalah pH tanah, N-Total, P-Tersedia, K-Tersedia, Al-dd, C-Organik, Kapasitas Tukar Kation, Kejenuhan Basa, Bobot Isi dan Tekstur tanah. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pH tanah rata-rata sebesar 4,24 (sangat masam), N-Total rata-rata sebesar 0,08% (sangat rendah), P-Tersedia rata-rata 4,74 ppm (sangat rendah), K-Tersedia rata-rata 0,07 cmol(+)kg-1 (sangat rendah), Kejenuhan Al rata-rata 56,08% (tinggi),Bahan Organik rata-rata 1,12% (rendah), Kapasitas Tukar Kation rata-rata 5,77 me/100 g (rendah), Kejenuhan Basa rata-rata 15,19%(sangat rendah), Bobot Isirata-rata sebesar 1,22 g/cm3dan Tekstur tanah termasuk dalam kriteria lempung liat berdebu serta liat berdebu. Dosis rekomendasi pemupukan yang dapat diuji di lapangan untuk kebutuhan Urea rata-rata 384 g/pohonatau 47,232 kg/ha,SP36 rata-rata 436 g/pohonatau 53,628 kg/ha, KCl rata-rata 1.103 g/pohonatau 135,669 kg/ha dan Kieserite rata-rata 543 g/pohon atau 66,789 kg/ha/tahun.   Kata kunci : Sifat kimia tanah, perkebunan kelapa sawit rakyat dan rekomendasi pemupukan

Abstract

KAJIAN MIKROBIA PELARUT FOSFAT PADA BEBERAPA PENGGUNAAN LAHAN DI DESA ROBAN, KOTA SINGKAWANG Muhammad Shalleh(1), Saeri Sagiman(2), Sulakhudin(2) (1)Mahasiswa Fakultas Pertanian dan (2)Staf  Pengajar dari Program Studi Ilmu Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Tanjungpura Pontianak ABSTRAKFosfat (P) merupakan unsur hara esensial kedua setelah nitrogen yang berperan penting pada pertumbuhan tanaman. Ketersedian P di dalam tanah rendah oleh karena mudah terikat oleh unsur lain Fe, Al, Ca dan Mg. Beberapa mikrobia mampu melarutkan P sehingga peranannya sangat penting dalam budidaya tanaman. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui jumlah populasi mikrobia pelarut fosfat (MPF), mengidentifikasi jenis serta kemampuannya dalam melarutkan fosfat yang diisolasi dari beberapa penggunaan lahan yakni lahan hutan sekunder, lahan pasca penambangan emas tanpa izin (PETI) tanpa tanaman dan lahan pasca PETI yang ditanami kelapa sawit di Desa Roban, Kota Singkawang. Isolasi MPF dilakukan  menggunakan media pikovskaya Ca3(PO4)2 dan FePO4 sebagai sumber P. Penghitungan kepadatan MPF dengan metode cawan hitung (total plate count). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hanya ditemukan bakteri pelarut fosfat (BPF) pada sumber P Ca3(PO4)2 yakni isolat SP1, SP2,SP3, SP4 dan SP5. Cendawan pelarut fosfat (CPF) ditemukan pada sumber P media pikovskaya ikatan Ca3(PO4)2 dan FePO4. Isolat CPF Ca3(PO4)2 yakni SP1, SP2 dan SP3. Isolat CPF FePO4 yakni SP10.1 dan SP10.2. Isolat BPF yang memiliki indeks pelarutan P terbesar adalah SP1 sebesar 69 mm2. Isolat CPF Ca3(PO4)2 memiliki indeks pelarutan terbesar adalah SP3 sebesar 105 mm2 sedangkan pada isolat CPF FePO4 adalah SP10.1 sebesar 46 mm2. Kepadatan populasi BPF menurun setelah adanya kegiatan PETI sedangkan populasi cendawan meningkat di lokasi pasca PETI tanpa tanaman.Kata kunci : Fosfat, hutan sekunder, sawit, bakteri, cendawan.

Abstract

Kubu Raya district is a district of the division of Pontianak regency formed by Act 35 of 2007 concerning the Establishment of Kubu Raya district with an area of 6985.20 km ² ( 698,520 acres ) . There are 342.984 ha of peat land area comprising 171 396 ha of shallow peat , peat in the 49 621 ha , 38.953 ha of peat medium , peat in the 83 014 ha while the development activities for oil palm plantations of business licenses obtained has reached an area of about 206 154 ha consisting of 23 fruit companies mostly scattered on peatlands , related to the use of peatlands for oil palm cultivation requires prudence and careful planning with a record of environmental damage . The concept of the development of oil palm plantations on peat land must be in accordance with the  rules  of  Regulation  of  the  Minister  of  Agriculture  of  the  Republic  of  Indonesia  Number14/Permentan/PL 110/2/2009 on Guidelines for Aquaculture Lowland Sustainable Palm Oil which aims to develop the cultivation of oil palm plantations , preserve the function of land peat , increase production and revenue produksen palm .. To understand these activities , then made the purpose of the study : 1 . Identify and analyze the factors that influence the development strategy of oil palm plantations on peat land in Kubu Raya District .2 . Formulate strategies alternanif development of oil palm plantations on peatland Kubu Raya district .The method used was a survey method and included in the descriptive study . The sampling technique used was purposive sampling method , which determines directly or by deliberately selecting respondents . To know the strengths , opportunities , weaknesses and threats of the development of oil palm plantations on peatland Kubu Raya district , then do a SWOT analysis ( Strengths Weakness Opportunities Threath ) . From the analysis it turned out SO strategy ( Strengths Opportunities) ( 3.3743 ) is the best strategy in the development of oil palm plantations on peatland Kubu Raya district , while the strategy is as follows: 1 ) Planting Area Improvement Strategy and Increased Production of oil palm plantations  peatlands  .  2  )  Increased  and  improved  palm  oil  products  according  to  standard  .
