The population at the UPTD of Livestock Breeding and Animal Feed, the Livestock and Animal Health Service of Bengkulu Province tends to decrease (quantity and quality), so it is necessary to study the status of sustainability so that its sustainability is maintained. This study aims to identify sensitive attributes of environmental factors that determine the sustainability status of the Talang Benih duck breeding business based on sustainable germplasm. Sustainability analysis was carried out using the Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) analysis method. The results of the leverage analysis show that there are 46 sensitive attributes and the Monte Carlo analysis shows a stress value of 17,40% and a coefficient of determination (R2) of 92,80%. The results showed that the status of sustainability was less sustainable (46,56) with less sustainable ecological dimensions (49,61), less sustainable economic dimensions (46,20), quite sustainable technological dimensions (62,66), less sustainable social dimensions (31,03), as well as legal and institutional dimensions that are less sustainable (43,32).   Keywords : Multidimensional scaling, sustainability status, Talang Benih ducks

Abstract

The agricultural sector plays a vital role in Indonesia’s economy but faces challenges such as limited infrastructure and low technology adoption, affecting efficiency and productivity. Road infrastructure is crucial for facilitating the distribution of palm oil from plantations to markets. This study analyzes the palm oil farmers’ perceptions on the farm road development and its impact on production management in Bengkulu Selatan. Research questions focus on how farmers assess road quality and to what extent these roads influence the distribution of agricultural products. Using simple random sampling of 91 respondents, data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The findings indicate that improved roads enhance market access, technology adoption, availability of production inputs, and production incentives. The most significant improvement is in transportation efficiency. Overall, production center roads positively impact farmers’ productivity and income by improving accessibility, reducing costs, and strengthening agricultural supply chains.

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the cost structure of the smoked skipjack fish processing business in North Sulawesi Province, with a focus on determining the cost function and its effects. Eighty-one skipjack-smoked fish producers were censused and interviewed using questionnaires that had been prepared before.  The analysis method used in this research consists of descriptive analysis and Cobb-Douglas cost function analysis, in which the cost function is modelled in the short term. The result showed that the cost of fresh fish, supplementary materials, and labour largely dominated the skipjack smoked fish processing cost. These costs account for 98.86% of the total cost; the remainder is variable costs, namely depreciation costs. From the regression analysis, the production volume and firewood price significantly affect production costs, while others do not.
