Abstract

Background: Handling febrile seizures in toddlers that we often encounter such as putting a spoon into the mouth can cause airway obstruction and lead to difficulty breathing. This can harm the child and make the febrile seizures worse. The efforts were made to improve the mother’s knowledge about handling febrile seizures by using animated educational videos. The attractive animated video helps to understand the materials and increases the mother’s knowledge. Abstract

Background. Stunting is a growth disorder due to chronic malnutrition and/or chronic or recurrent infectious diseases as indicated by the z-score of height for age (TB/U). Accordig to WHO, children with stunting can cause developmental disorders such as gross motor, fine motor, language and social disorders. Fine motor development is relate to the development ability to use the fingers to carry out various activities. For example, the ability to move objects from hand, scribble, arrange block, cut, write and etc. Methods. Case study by implementation based on evidance based practice in nursing care Results. Motor development in children can be increased by using block play therapy. Playing with block trains children to be able to move the small muscles in their hand and trans coordination between eye and hand movement Conclusion. The application of block play therapy in writing this final scientific work can improve fine motor aspect in preschool aged children.

Abstract

Background. Lower back pain in pregnant women is one of the most-commonly-reported complaints with the prevalence varying from 50% to 80% of pregnant women. However, about 80% of pregnant women who experience low back pain do not make any effort to overcome the symptoms. This case study aims to determine the effect of ginger compress on the intensity of low back pain in third-trimester pregnant women. Methods. Implementation of Evidence-Based Nursing (EBN) refers to PICO with a search for articles from 2019-2023 using Google Scholar. 149 articles were collected with the result that ginger compress is an intervention that can be performed to overcome the problem. The compress was impelemented on 2 patients as an intervention group for 20 minutes for three consecutive days with a comparison of 1 patient as a control group. The evaluation was completed by measuring pain intensity every day for three days before and after the intervention. Results. There was a decrease in pain intensity from 6/10 to 1/10 and 6/10 to 1/10 in both patients in the intervention group after the intervention for three days, while in the control group, the pain intensity was 5/10 to 5/10 on day three. Conclusion. There is a decrease in pain intensity after the ginger compress intervention.

Abstract

Background: Toddler age is a golden period in the growth and development of children. One of the factors that inhibit children's growth and development is poor eating behavior. The child's eating behavior begins to be formed since the prenatal period through the transmission of amniotic fluid containing volatile compounds derived from food consumed by the mother during pregnancy. Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between maternal eating behavior during pregnancy with eating behavior in toddlers (1-3 years old). Methodology: Correlational analytic research with cross sectional research design. The total sample size was 101 mother and child respondents in Grendeng and Sumampir Villages, Purwoketo Utara II District. Data were collected using the AEBQ questionnaire for data on eating behavior of mothers during pregnancy and CEBQ-T for data on eating behavior of toddlers. Test the analysis of the relationship between the two variables used the pearson correlations. Result: The results of statistical tests showed a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05) with an r value of 0.552, which means that there was a significant relationship between the maternal eating behavior during pregnancy and the eating behavior of toddlers with moderate relationship strength. Conclusion: There was significant relationship between the maternal eating behavior during pregnancy and the eating behavior of toddlers (1-3 years).

Abstract

Introduction: Toddlers are the golden phase orgold period. In this phase, children will experience very rapid growth and development. Nutrition or nutrients are an absolute factor needed by the body in the growth and development process. Purpose: Therefore, this research aims to be an effort to overcome nutritional disorders in children by providing education feeding rulesor guidelines for feeding children. Methods: The research method used by the author uses a case study. The research subjects were mothers with toddlers who experienced nutritional problems. Conclusion: Providing education feeding rules in mothers with children under five who have nutritional problems, changes in knowledge have increased significantly. This can be seen from the difference in scores onpretest and posttest namely 33.3% to 83.3%.

Abstract

Introduction: The golden age is a critical and important period, but this age is also prone to nutritional disorders and disease. Nutrition is one of the factors that determines success in achieving optimal growth and development. Food that is poor in quality and quantity will cause malnutrition. Therefore, it is necessary to provide feeding rules and flash cards. Purpose: Know and identify the provision of feeding rules and flash cards on the knowledge and nutritional status of children. Methods: The case study was conducted on three year old children in Grendeng, North Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency with the implementation of Evidence Based Practice (EBP) within one week. Knowledge measurement was carried out before and after implementation. Discussion: Providing feeding rules for six meetings in one week can increase the mother's knowledge. Before implementing the questionnaire results and after implementing the post test results 3/5 with indicators of nutritional. Conclusion: Providing feeding rules during six meetings within a week is effective in increasing knowledge by increasing nutritional status indicators.

Abstract

Background: Children aged < 5 years have a high risk of developing primary progressive pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) and are at risk of developing a serious disease that can cause death or long-term disability. Pulmonary TB is an infectious respiratory disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This case study aims to determine the effect of a combination of mint leaf inhalation therapy and balloon blowing exercise on oxygen saturation and respiratory frequency in children with pulmonary TB. Methodology: Implementation of Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) based on PICO with article searches for 2020 – 2024 using ScienceDirect, Pubmed, Research Gate and Google Scholar. A combination of mint leaf inhalation therapy and balloon blowing exercise was the intervention chosen to be implemented. The intervention was carried out by inhaling mint leaf essential oil vapor for 15 minutes and continued by blowing up the balloon 8 – 10 times until it was 7 inches in size. The intervention will be provided on April 18 – 24 2024. Results: After being given intervention, the oxygen saturation of the research subjects increased from 94% to 98% and the respiratory frequency decreased from 42x/minute to 36x/minute. Conclusion: The combination of pappermint inhalation therapy and balloon blowing exercise has an effect on increasing oxygen saturation and reducing respiratory frequency in children with pulmonary TB.
