Abstract

Background: Handling febrile seizures in toddlers that we often encounter such as putting a spoon into the mouth can cause airway obstruction and lead to difficulty breathing. This can harm the child and make the febrile seizures worse. The efforts were made to improve the mother’s knowledge about handling febrile seizures by using animated educational videos. The attractive animated video helps to understand the materials and increases the mother’s knowledge. Abstract

Background. Stunting is a growth disorder due to chronic malnutrition and/or chronic or recurrent infectious diseases as indicated by the z-score of height for age (TB/U). Accordig to WHO, children with stunting can cause developmental disorders such as gross motor, fine motor, language and social disorders. Fine motor development is relate to the development ability to use the fingers to carry out various activities. For example, the ability to move objects from hand, scribble, arrange block, cut, write and etc. Methods. Case study by implementation based on evidance based practice in nursing care Results. Motor development in children can be increased by using block play therapy. Playing with block trains children to be able to move the small muscles in their hand and trans coordination between eye and hand movement Conclusion. The application of block play therapy in writing this final scientific work can improve fine motor aspect in preschool aged children.

Abstract

Background. Lower back pain in pregnant women is one of the most-commonly-reported complaints with the prevalence varying from 50% to 80% of pregnant women. However, about 80% of pregnant women who experience low back pain do not make any effort to overcome the symptoms. This case study aims to determine the effect of ginger compress on the intensity of low back pain in third-trimester pregnant women. Methods. Implementation of Evidence-Based Nursing (EBN) refers to PICO with a search for articles from 2019-2023 using Google Scholar. 149 articles were collected with the result that ginger compress is an intervention that can be performed to overcome the problem. The compress was impelemented on 2 patients as an intervention group for 20 minutes for three consecutive days with a comparison of 1 patient as a control group. The evaluation was completed by measuring pain intensity every day for three days before and after the intervention. Results. There was a decrease in pain intensity from 6/10 to 1/10 and 6/10 to 1/10 in both patients in the intervention group after the intervention for three days, while in the control group, the pain intensity was 5/10 to 5/10 on day three. Conclusion. There is a decrease in pain intensity after the ginger compress intervention.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a condition of short or very short stature based on the Length/Height-for-Age index. Feeding is a crucial part of life for infants and children under three (toddlers), and most parent-child interactions occur during feedings. Long-term feeding difficulties can lead to growth failure and delays in growth and development. One way to address feeding difficulties is through the implementation of feeding rules. Purpose: This case study aims to determine the effect of education and the application of feeding rules on child patients with stunting. Methods: This research is a qualitative study with a descriptive case study approach, compiled from nursing care reports using the nursing process. Based on the implementation of Evidence-Based Nursing (EBN) in nursing practice, the case study uses an activity flow based on Polit and Beck (2012). The instrument used in the study was a questionnaire. Discussion: The results of observations for 3 consecutive days after being given education showed that mothers were able to apply feeding rules with an increase in questionnaire results related to knowledge and application of feeding rules. Conclusion: There was an increase in children's appetite and mothers' behavior after being given education on feeding rules and implementing feeding rules.
