Abstract

This study aims to analyze the problem-solving abilities of elementary school students in solving story problems related to spatial geometry, as viewed from gender differences. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, with 128 students from several elementary schools in Muara Bungo City who have studied spatial geometry as the research subjects. The research instrument consists of an essay test designed based on four problem-solving ability indicators, namely: (1) understanding the problem, (2) developing a solution plan, (3) solving the problem according to the plan, and (4) reviewing the results obtained. Data were collected through tests, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing stages. The research results showed differences in strategies and achievements between male and female students on each indicator. Female students excelled in the indicators of understanding the problem and reviewing the results of their work, with characteristics of high accuracy and consistency in verifying answers. Conversely, male students were more prominent in the indicators of developing a solution plan and solving problems according to the plan, tending to choose quick and practical strategies. These differences reflect the influence of psychological characteristics and thinking styles specific to each gender. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for teachers in designing mathematics learning strategies that accommodate the strengths of both genders so that all students can optimize their problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Abstract Abortion and Iufd are perinatal deaths that have a traumatic impact not only for parents but also for health professionals who are directly involved, especially midwives who are one of the health workers who have an important role in preventing and treating these conditions. Regardless of the midwife's duties and role in this condition, describe her responses and coping mechanisms in the form of feelings of non-anxiety, anxiety, panic and sadness as well as adaptive and maladaptive coping mechanisms. The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of midwives in the form of response, coping and the midwife's point of view in providing services to patients with a history of abortion and Iufd. This study uses a type of qualitative research. The sampling procedure used was purposive sampling and the number of participants who participated in this study until data saturation occurred was 8 people. Data collection procedures by way of observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the analysis, several themes were found, namely: (1) The involvement of village midwives in caring for patients with a history of miscarriage and stillbirth, (2) Causes of abortion and Iufd cases found by village midwives, (3) Actions taken by village midwives, (4) ) Response of village midwives caring for patients with abortion and Iufd, (5) Coping of village midwives treating patients with abortion and Iufd, (6) Support system that should support patients with a history of abortion and Iufd. And from the results of the analysis, not only involvement in handling but midwives also anxiety to the lack of previous experience in dealing with perinatal death. The recommendation in this study is to hold special training on maternal emergencies for midwives so they can be better prepared to deal with these conditions. Abstrak Abortus dan iufd adalah kematian perinatal yang berdampak traumatis tidak hanya bagi orang tua namun juga bagi professional kesehatan yang terlibat langsung, terkhusus bidan yang merupakan salah satu tenaga kesehatan yang memiliki peranan penting mencegah dan menangani kondisi tersebut. Terlepas tugas dan perannya bidan pada kondisi ini, mengambarkan respon dan mekanisme kopingnya berupa perasaan tidak cemas, kecemasan, kepanikan dan kesedihan serta mekanisme koping adaptif dan maladaptive. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman bidan baik berupa respon, koping dan sudut pandang bidan dalam memberi pelayanan pada pasien riwayat abortus dan iufd. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Prosedur sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling dan jumlah partisipan yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini sampai dengan terjadi saturasi data sebanyak 8 orang. Prosedur pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan langkah-langkah pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, ditemukan beberapa tema, yaitu: (1) Keterlibatan bidan desa dalam merawat pasien dengan riwayat keguguran dan kelahiran mati, (2) Penyebab kasus abortus dan iufd yang ditemukan bidan desa, (3) Tindakan yang dilakukan bidan desa, (4) Respon bidan desa merawat pasien dengan abortus dan iufd, (5) Koping bidan desa merawat pasien dengan abortus dan iufd, (6) Support sistem yang sebaiknya mendukung pasien dengan riwayat abortus dan iufd. Dan dari hasil analisis bukan hanya keterlibatan dalam penanganan tapi bidan juga merasakan duka disebabkan kurangnya pengalaman sebelumya dalam menanangani kematian perinatal. Rekomendasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu mengadakan pelatihan khusus tentang kegawatdaruratan maternal bagi bidan agar dapat lebih siap menghadapi kondisi tersebut. Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of low motivation and science learning outcomes for fifth grade students at 094/8 Giriwinangun.. This is because teachers still teach conventionally and do not apply variations in teaching. The purpose of this study is to increase motivation and science learning outcomes using the reciprocal teaching learning model for fifth grade students. This research is a type of CAR research, which has been carried out in two cycles of action, while each cycle consists of two meetings. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation of action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests. The observation sheet instrument was used to collect data related to the teacher and student aspects of the learning process, the questionnaire instrument was used to collect data related to student learning motivation, while the learning outcomes test items were used to collect data related to the remaining science learning outcomes. The research data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed that in the first cycle the learning process in the teaching aspect of the teacher reached 75%, the student learning aspect reached 65%. In the second cycle the improvement in the learning process from the teaching aspect of the teacher reached 87%, student learning aspect in the second cycle reached 90%. The success percentage of students' learning motivation in the first cycle reached 70% and increased again in the second cycle by reaching 95%. Students' science learning outcomes in the first cycle only reached classical completeness of 55%. While in the second cycle, it managed to increase by achieving classical completeness of 80%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the reciprocal teaching model can increase the motivation and learning outcomes of science students in class V SDN 094/8 Giriwinangun.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to describe an increase in student learning outcomes in Civics learning using the Think Pair Share model in class V SDN 19 Sungai tanang. This type of research is PTK, using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research was conducted in two cycles. Research procedures include planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study consisted of two cycles with the research instrument observation sheet and test sheet. The subjects of the teacher and student research were 22 students including 13 male students and 9 female students. The results showed an increase in: (a) RPP I cycle 73.21% (C), cycle II 92.85% (SB), (b) Implementation of aspects of teacher cycle I 82.13% (B), cycle II 96 , 42% (SB) and the results of observation of the first cycle of aspects of students 80.35% (C), second cycle 96.42% (SB), (c) Student learning outcomes cycle I value 72 (C), cycle II 88.40 (SB). It was concluded that the Think Pair Share model can improve PKn learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SDN 19 Sungai Tanang. Keywords:Learning Outcomes; Civic education; Think Pair Share Model

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang terselenggara bersama dengan SMA Kristen Kalam Kudus Sukoharjo, Jawa Tengah dikemas dalam bentuk pelatihan bahasa Inggris bertajuk English Conversation Club dengan tema utama “My Personal Victory”. Program ini dilakukan dari Agustus 2022 hingga November 2022 dengan total enam sesi daring setiap dua minggu, berdurasi 60 menit, dan melalui platform Zoom. Topik untuk lima pertemuan adalah “Dreams (Impian)”, “Talents (Talenta atau Bakat)”, “Physical Health (Kesehatan Jasmani)”, “Mental Health (Kesehatan Rohani)”, dan “Lifelong Learning (Pembelajaran Seumur Hidup)” dengan Celebration of Learning (Perayaan Hasil Belajar) menjadi puncak pertemuan keenam atau terakhir. Meskipun ditinjau dari data tingkat kehadiran dan tingkat penyerahan tugas yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan jumlah peserta yang terdaftar, peserta yang aktif dan hadir merasa puas terhadap program ini. Mereka juga menyebutkan bahwa program ini tidak hanya memfasilitasi mereka untuk lebih percaya diri dalam berbicara bahasa Inggris, tetapi juga dalam menghayati pelajaran hidup yang berharga.

Abstract

The community service programme was conducted in the form of a training on Basic English for teachers of SMA Bopkri 1 Yogyakarta. The training was conducted online through the Zoom platform and offline at the school. It was divided into ten sessions in the course of two months from 17 February 2022 up to 21 April 2022. Fifteen teachers participated in the training. The materials were understanding sermons, greetings and introduction, describing school facilities, doing school tours, describing school culture, hospitality, entertaining guests, doing small talks, and celebration of learning. The training was conducted in response to the need of the school to improve the English skills of the participants as the school had biweekly English sermons and the probability of having foreign guests. Generally, the training was a success and most of the participants who were adult learners and senior teachers with decades of teaching experiences demonstrated high motivation to learn despite the challenges. The use of three languages: Indonesian, Javanese, and English and the minimum use of technological tools were found to positively affect the participants’ motivation and learning in general. Flexibility in instructional process and relevance of materials were also key factors for success.
