Abstract

Herba sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f) Nees) dan herba pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) merupakan tanaman obat unggulan yang sedang dikembangkan sebagai obat tradisional salah satunya sebagai antidiabetes. Penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat efek kombinasi ekstrak terpurifikasi herba sambiloto dan herba pegagan terhadap translokasi protein GLUT-4 pada tikus diabetes mellitus tipe 2 resisten dibandingkan dengan penggunaan dari masing-masing ekstrak. Dalam penelitian digunakan 8 kelompok perlakuan dimana 3 kelompok diberi kombinasi ekstrak terpurifikasi herba sambiloto dengan herba pegagan:  kelompok I (912,1: 300); kelompok II (651,5 : 500); kelompok III (390,9 : 700) dalam mg/kg BB;  kelompok IV (ekstrak terpurifikasi herba sambiloto 1303 mg/kg BB); kelompok V (ekstrak terpurifikasi herba   pegagan  1000 mg/kg BB),   kelompok   VI   (kontrol   positif  metformin 45mg/kg BB),   kelompok  VII (kontrol negatif CMC-Na 0,5%), dan kelompok VIII (kontrol normal). Parameter yang diukur data semi kuantitatif translokasi protein GLUT 4 pada sel otot paha (soleus muscle) dengan metode Immunohistochemistry. Hewan uji diabetes mellitus tipe 2 resisten insulin dibuat dengan pembebanan fruktosa (1,8 g/kg BB) dan pakan kaya lemak (campuran pakan pelet 95% dan 5% kuning telur bebek serta lemak babi 5 mL/ 200 g BB) selama 70 hari. Penetapan kondisi resisten insulin hewan uji digunakan 3 parameter meliputi kadar glukosa darah, uji kadar lemak (trigliserida, LDL, kolesterol dan HDL), dan uji daya hipoglikemik glibenklamid yang dibandingkan dengan kontrol normal. Hasil uji resisten insulin dengan analisis statistik Independent Sample-t Test menunjukkan ada perbedaan bermakna (p<0,05) antara tikus normal dengan tikus diit lemak-fruktosa pada hari ke-50 dan ke-70. Hal ini mengindikasikan tikus diit lemak-fruktosa terindikasi DM tipe 2 resisten insulin. Pengaruh kelompok I (kombinasi ekstrak terpurifikasi herba sambiloto dengan herba pegagan (912,1 : 300 mg/kg BB) terhadap translokasi protein GLUT-4 lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan pengaruh dari masing-masing ekstrak dengan signifikan p<0,05 dengan analisis oneway ANOVA.

Abstract

ABSTRAKJahe merah (Zingiber officinale) merupakan tanaman yang sudah banyak diteliti dan memiliki kemampuan antiinflamasi terutama dalam menghambat proses denaturasi protein yang terjadi pada proses inflamasi. Penelitian ini ekstrak jahe merah diaplikasikan ke dalam sediaan hidrogel dengan basis gelling agent natrium karboksimetilselulosa. Sediaan hidrogel kemudian dilakukan uji stabilitas hingga hari ke 21 dan dievaluasi terhadap daya anti inflamasi kepada hewan uji tikus jantan galur wistar. Hasil penelitian pada sediaan hidrogel ekstrak jahe merah ini menunjukkan hasil stabilitas fisik yang baik, pH, viskositas, daya sebar dan daya lekat yang baik dan memenuhi persyaratan sediaan gel. Hasil uji daya anti inflamasi pada hewan uji tikus jantan galur wistar pada hidrogel ekstrak jahe merah dengan basis gelling agent CMC Na memberikan perbedaan yang bermakna dengan kontrol (P< 0,05).

Abstract

Kenikir merupakan jenis sayuran yang sering dikonsumsi mentah sebagai lalapan dan dimasak sebagai sayur. Senyawa flavonoid dan fenolik yang terdapat pada daun kenikir dapat digunakan sebagai antiglikasi. Glikasi sendiri merupakan penyebab terjadinya komplikasi pada penderita diabetes. Reaksi glikasi akan membentuk senyawa berbahaya Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs) sehingga memperburuk kondisi penderita diabetes. Antiglikasi sangat dibutuhkan untuk mencegah produksi Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs). Mengetahui aktivitas antiglikasi pada ekstrak daun kenikir merupakan tujuan penelitian ini. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode spektrofotometri UV-VIS. Hasil ekstrak daun kenikir direaksikan dengan 2,4-dinitrofenilhidrazin (DNPH) dan BSA terglikasi dianalisis menggunakan Spektrofotometri pada panjang gelombang 450 nm. Hasil penelitian menujukkan ekstrak etanol daun kenikir memiliki aktivitas antiglikasi dengan rata-rata nilai  sebesar 295,047 ppm dengan koefisien variasi sebesar 0,850%.

Abstract

Hipertensi merupakan kondisi dimana tekanan darah berada di atas nilai normal yaitu >140 mmHg untuk tekanan sistolik dan >90 mmHg untuk tekanan diastolik. Menduduki urutan pertama setiap tahunya. Penggunaan ramuan herbal sebagai tatalaksana non farmakologi penyakit hipertensi sangat membantu mengatasi hipertensi. Pengenalan jamu saintifik dan optimalisasi herbal di Desa Gajahan masih kurang dan belum mendapat edukasi mengenai ramuan jamu saintifik sebagai alternatif menurunkan tekanan darah, maka dilakukan pengenalan jamu saintifik, dengan harapan dapat mengurangi angka hipertensi di Desa Gajahan. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan penyuluhan dan pelatihan pembuatan jamu kunir asem dan jamu saintifik. Sasaran kegiatan adalah kader kesehatan PKK Desa Gajahan, Surakarta. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukan ada peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat dalam memahami jamu saintifik serta dalam pembuatanya, hal ini ditunjukan dengan kenaikan nilai postest yang signifikan <0,05. Hasil tingkat kepuasan masyarakat dapat dilihat dari antusiasme audiens dalam mengikuti kegiatan ini, dengan nilai kepuasan mencapai nilai 97,6%.

Abstract

This community service was held on January 21, 2023 at the Inclusion Studio (Anugerah Aulia) Cemani Village, Grogol District, Sukoharjo Regency with 30 participants. This community service was carried out through 3 stages, the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. The purpose of this activity is to increase public knowledge about the prevention of dengue hemorrhagic fever by utilizing aromatik candles as mosquito repellents and motivating the community by using used cooking oil to create new businesses as an increase in micro, small and medium enterprises in Cemani Village. This activity was successful by obtaining an average pretest score of 44.58%, after counseling and workshops, community knowledge increased with an average posttest score of 90.83%.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the ability of ethanol extract of green tea (Camellia sinensis L.) as a chelating agent for heavy metal of Cu. Green tea extraction was carried out by maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent. The ethanol extract of green tea was further tested for phytochemical screening. Analysis of the reduction in total heavy metal content of 10 ppm Cu was measured with an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) at a wavelength of 324,8 nm. The ethanol extract of green tea (Camellia sinensis L.) was made in series of concentrations of 3 ppm, 6 ppm, 12 ppm and 15 ppm. The results showed that ethanol extract of green tea (Camellia sinensis L.) containing alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolics, tannins, saponins and triterpenoids. The average concentration value of ethanol extract of green tea in reducing Cu metal up to 50% (EC50) was 12,26 ppm with coefficient of variation 0,26%.

Abstract

Gambas fruit or oyong or often called ceme (Luffa acutangula L) or ridged gourd is a plant that belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family. Gambas fruit contains several important nutrients and also contains several chemical compounds, one of which is saponin which can be useful as an experctorant, antitussive, antidiabetic, anticholesterol, anticancer, antibacterial and antifungal. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the differences in saponin levels and differences in yield in sun-dried and oven-dried squash fruits. Differences in temperature and drying method may allow for differences in the yield and saponin levels in the squash. Determination of saponin levels was carried out using the gravimetric method which was the advantage of not requiring a comparator (standard saponins). The result showed that the sun drying yield was 8,24% with ±SD 0,00021 and the oven drying yield was 7,21% with ±SD 0,02821 while the saponin content in sun drying was 0,39% with a coefficient of variation of 0,001% and oven drying saponin content of 11,96% with a coefficient of variation of 0,002%.

Abstract

Hypertension has the most significant prevalence among non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Indonesia. The prevalence of hypertension in 2018 of 34.11% rose 8.31% from the prevalence of hypertension in 2013 of 25.8%. Data from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia indicates that 32.3% of hypertension patients exhibit non-compliance or do not regularly adhere to medication regimens, thereby increasing their mortality risk. The objective of this study was to establish the magnitude of the impact caused by the compliance level to the use of antihypertensive scientific herbal medicines on the effectiveness of hypertensive patients’ therapy in UPF. Yankestrad Rs Dr. Sardjito Tawangmangu. This study descriptively utilized a quantitative cross-sectional method using the MARS-5 (Medication Adherence Report Scale) questionnaire to measure adherence level. The sample of this study consisted of 150 purposively hypertensive respondents out of the total sample size of the 150 who conducted the research in October 2023. Data analysis includes univariate and bivariate analysis with a chi-square test. The research findings provide a reliable understanding of compliance levels. A very low compliance level was recorded at 32 or 21.3%, a moderate compliance level was recorded at 53 or 35.3% and a high compliance level was recorded at 65 or 43.4%. The chi-square supported the association thus out of 113 respondents the p-value at 0.001 and where the relationship can be a very healthy therapy at UPF Yankestrad Dr. Sardjito Tawangmangu Hospital.

Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus is a pathogenic bacterium that frequently causes serious infections, such as skin infections, pneumonia, and sepsis. The increasing resistance to conventional antibiotics has prompted the search for alternative therapies derived from natural sources. Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) leaves are known to contain bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, saponins, and terpenoids, which have potential antibacterial properties. This study aims to determine the effect of varying ethanol concentrations (40%, 70%, and 96%) on the antibacterial activity of spider plant leaf extracts against Staphylococcus aureus. Extraction was carried out using the maceration method with ethanol solvents at concentrations of 40%, 70%, and 96%. Each extract underwent phytochemical screening. Antibacterial activity was tested using the well diffusion method against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923. The inhibition zones were measured using a caliper. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, one-way ANOVA, and Tukey’s post hoc test. Phytochemical screening results showed that the 40% ethanol extract contained only flavonoids and tannins, while the 70% and 96% ethanol extracts contained flavonoids, terpenoids, tannins, and saponins. Antibacterial testing showed that the 70% ethanol extract produced the largest inhibition zone (9.75 mm), followed by the 96% ethanol extract (7.25 mm), and the 40% ethanol extract (6.3 mm). ANOVA results indicated significant differences between groups (p < 0.05), and the post hoc test showed that the 70% ethanol extract differed significantly from the other two groups. Ethanol 70% was the most effective solvent for extracting antibacterial compounds from spider plant leaves, as it produced the highest antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. These results support the potential use of spider plant leaf extract as a natural antibacterial candidate.
