Abstract

Kelompok uji meliputi CMC-Na 0,5 % p.o. (kontrol negatif), indometasin 4 mg/kgBB p.o. dan i.p. (kontrol positif), kurkuminoid 48 mg/kgBB p.o., minyak atsiri 24mg/kgBB p.o, serta kombinasinya p.o. Injeksi formalin dilakukan 1 jam setelah pemejanan sampel. Data licking time diambil pada fase I (menit 0-5) dan fase II (10-30menit) setelah injeksi formalin. (4,54±1,65%).

Abstract

Production of ‘Jamu Jogorogo’ herbal medicine product by the Group of Women Farmers (KWT Singosaren), in Kab. Bantul, Yogyakarta is stagnant after receiving a Dana Keistimewaan Provinsi (Yogyakarta Province’s Special Fund), and has passed a halal certificate. Based on the Ishikawa fishbone analysis, basic knowledge of legal aspects, quality, and marketing strategy. This study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational strategy applied to the members of KWT Singosaren. This strategy was implemented through a ‘one-day training’ that began with a Pretest, Post-test I, and Post-test II. A total of 80 members of KWT Singosaren were involved in this training, and 59 met the eligible criteria. A Pretest was conducted before the training to get the initial. After the training, participants worked on the Post-test I. Before leaving the training location, all participants were given a pocketbook containing training material for self-learning. Two weeks (14 days) later, they were asked to take the Post-test II, so the participant’s final knowledge could be investigated. As a result, it was found that there is a rising knowledge of 113.56 % and 71.96 % regarding the understanding of ‘quality’ and ‘legality’, respectively. Interestingly, the marketing strategy (product appeal) and sustainable production knowledge rose by 15.25%. Even so, after Post-test II an increase in scores still occurred. This indicates that participants successfully conducted the self-learning process. Post actualization period, we found that the SPP-IRT permits (legal permits for food production for the Home Industry) of 3 (three) herbal products were successfully issued. Keywords: Empowerment, women, effectiveness, knowledge, training.

Abstract

Background: Doping remains a persistent issue in martial arts, exacerbated by the easy access to over-the-counter medications containing banned substances. Despite existing regulations, athletes often lack comprehensive knowledge of anti-doping measures, leading to unintentional violations.Aims: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a doping management program in improving knowledge and awareness of doping among martial arts athletes. Methods: A convergent parallel mixed-methods design was employed. Twenty-one national-level martial arts athletes were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through structured interviews and standardized questionnaires. The doping management intervention included a web-based doping screening tool, an anti-doping educational module, and a 24-hour online consultation clinic implemented during the 2024 National Sports Week (PON) training period. Results: Results showed a significant increase in athletes' knowledge of doping, with the mean score rising from 54% to 76% (p = 0.002), especially in terms of understanding Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs). However, the study also found low utilization of online doping clinics, confusion regarding TUE procedures, and continued reliance on coaches for drug use. Document analysis and institutional mapping showed that coordination between stakeholders was fragmented, and socialization of anti-doping services was not optimal. Conclusion: The findings underscore that coaches play a pivotal role in doping management, serving as primary sources of information and guidance for athletes. Strengthening the involvement of coaches in anti-doping education is essential to maintaining a doping-free environment and ensuring the success of doping prevention strategies in martial arts.

Abstract

Hand sanitizing is a popular hand-cleaning technique during the pandemic. In the present article, a retrospective study by observational and quantitative data analysis involving 155 respondents were collected through questionnaires. The most intense methods of hand-cleaningactivities (i.e. hand sanitizing, hand washing with soap, alcohol rubs, wet wipes, dried wipes and hand washing with water only)were investigated. Manifestation on human skin was evaluated personally by take into account to the real condition of the authors. Validity of the retrospective questionnaire was assessed by comparing it to the prospective journal which was considered as the reference method. As the result, hand-washing with soap is the most preferred hand-cleaning method during pandemic (94 %, total sample population n = 155). Adverse event by the usage of alcohol might observed especially during the first 4 months of the pandemic period.

Abstract

Rapid shelf-life of traditional supplementary drink still becomes major issue for herbal production in household industries. In this study the stability formula of an herbal suspension, so called as jamu kunyit-asam, was investigated. The jamu kunyit-asam Formula-1 (F1) contains combination of Citrus aurantifolia and Curcuma longa. While the Formula-2 (F2) is consisted by mixture of Tamarindus indica and C. longa. The two formulas were compared to justify better stability between preparations. No preservatives were added, in order to comply with the local regulation. To simulate the real situation, all samples were stored in 4 different conditions: opened bottle (room temperature), closed bottle (room temperature), closed bottle (refrigerator), and freeze-thaw condition. To evaluate the stability profile, an organoleptic testing and pH alteration were frequently checked for 12 consecutive days. Several parameters including color changing, sting odor, and microscopic appearance were looked over. As the results, mold, precipitation and pungent odor were formed faster from the F1 (C. aurantifolia combined with C. longa). These findings indicates that jamu kunyit-asam herbal drink suspensions containing C. longa has less stability in combination with the C. aurantifolia (F1) compared to the T. indica (F2).
