Abstract

This article examines the social role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in the northern coastal region (Pantura) of Java, focusing on their contributions outside the classroom. In the context of a pluralistic, religious coastal community that also faces social challenges such as poverty, urbanization, and changing cultural values, PAI teachers emerge as influential agents of change. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach, this study captures how PAI teachers act as educators, community leaders, and socio-religious activists. The study results show that PAI teachers in the Pantura region not only provide formal education, but are also active in da'wah activities, social counseling, and serve as moral and spiritual references in the community. Specifically, five main forms of PAI teachers' social roles were found, namely: (1) serving as a modin (leader) who leads religious rituals such as funerals and wedding prayers; (2) providing religious lectures at community celebrations; (3) serving as a religious consultant who provides Islamic legal and moral advice; (4) being involved in the management of mosques and prayer rooms as preachers, TPA instructors, or religious activity organizers; and (5) active in community organizations such as NU or Muhammadiyah. These findings indicate that the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers is very integral to the social life of coastal communities and is an important element in the stability and strengthening of local religious values. This article recommends the need to strengthen the social and cultural capacity of Islamic Religious Education teachers to be more adaptive to the dynamics of coastal communities.

Abstract

In learning the Al Qur'an Hadith subject which was carried out at MTs. Tarbiyatul Wathon has obstacles, namely the presence of several students, especially new students who are not fluent in reading the Qur'an and become obstacles for teachers of the Al-Qur'an Hadith subject to carry out teaching assignments, from these obstacles in the end extracurricular activities are made in the form of intensive activities read the Qur'an by applying the Qira'ati method, the purpose of this study is to overcome these obstacles by using a qualitative approach. This research is categorized as field research, namely research conducted directly in the field to obtain the necessary qualitative data in the form of observations, interviews, and documentation. With the implementation of the Qira'ati Method to increase Al Qur'an reading through extracurricular activities at MTs. Tarbiyatul Wathon Campurejo Panceng Gresik has a positive impact on learning Al Qur'an Wa Al Hadith Subject which can be concluded as follows: Teachers experience ease in teaching especially Subject Teachers of Al Qur'an Wa Al Hadith, and generally Subject Teachers of Islamic Religious Education , Students easily understand the subject matter provided by the teacher because they can already read the Qur'an and Hadith properly as a basis that must be mastered by all students, and it is easier for institutions to make reports of learning completeness in the curriculum to be reported to supervisors and agencies that oversee them which can be seen in the student report book.

Abstract

Kajian ini mendeskripsikan urgensi teori sosiologi dalam pengembangan Pendidikan Agama Islam. Ini sebagai penegasan bahwa Pendidikan Agama Islam mempunyai dimensi teologis dan sosiologis. Dimensi sosiologis dari nilai agama islam sementara dimensi sosiologis dalam penerapan praktisnya. Teori sosiologi adalah deskripsi untuk memahami masyarakat, interaksi sosial manusia yang terjadi di dalamnya. Pendidikan Agama Islam berperan penting dalam proses pendidikan di Indonesia. Nilai nilai ajaran Islam sebagai isi yang diajarkan bertujuan untuk mendidik, membimbing, dan mengarahkan peserta didik menjadi islami, sebagai individu, anggota kelaurga, masyarakat, warga negara bahkan warga dunia. Insan kamil adalah pencapaian dari tujuan Pendidikan Agama Islam tertinggi. Fungsi agama di masyarakat adalah solidaritas sosial, memberi arti dan tujuan hidup, kontrol sosial, perubahan sosial dan dukungan psikologis. Teori fungsionalisme agama memberi landasan fungsi agama dalam masyarakat. Fungsi agama juga memberi penguat jiwa bagi pemeluknya.Teori interaksionisme simbolik sebagai pendekatan penggunaan simbol-simbol agama seperti bahasa Arab, ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an, hadis untuk mengajarkan nilai-nilai Islam, Pembentukan Identitas keagamaan. Fungsi teori reproduksi sosial dalam pendidikan agama Islam: Pelestarian Nilai dan Norma Keagamaan, Reproduksi Identitas Religius, Legitimasi Struktur Sosial dan Otoritas Keagamaan, Transfer Modal Budaya dan Religius, Mekanisme Pengendalian Sosial. Teori kapital berkembang sedemikian rupa bukan hanya kapital benda atau uang saja. kapital manusia (Human Capital), kapital sosial (Social Capital), Kapital Budaya (Cultural capital) dan Kapital Simbolik (symbolic capital)

Abstract

Seiring perkembangan zaman perekonomian dibidang UMKM mengalami transformasi. Hal ini menimbulkan beberapa hambatan bagi pelaku UMKM yang ada di Desa Madumulyorejo. Diantaranya, gaptek terhadap media sosial, branding yang kurang menarik sehingga tidak dapat menarik perhatian konsumen, permasalahan terkait perizinan sertifikat halal dan NIB, dan permasalahan terkait modal. Adapun langkah untuk menyiapkan perekonomian yang lebih baik untuk masa depan yakni dengan memfasilitasi seluruh UMKM yang ada. Selain itu potensi yang dimiliki Desa Madumulyorejo yaitu berupa buah pisang dalam hal ini masyarakat kurang bisa berinovasi terhadap potensi tersebut sehingga menjadi sebuah permasalahan. Dari permasalahan tersebut kami mengadakan seminar kewirausahaan dan workshop pelatihan pengolahan pisang sebagai optimalisasi potensi UMKM yang ada dengan tujuan mengembangkan teknik pemasaran, kewirausahaan, branding, membantu pembuatan legalitas usaha, dan meningkatkan kreatifitas masyarakat untuk mengolah potensi yang ada. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode partivactiory action research (PAR). Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat terutama pemilik usaha serta masyarakat dapat mengoptimalkan potensi

Abstract

Community is a form of the result of human social interaction. The formation of this community is based on many things and provides various kinds of impacts in social life, one of these impacts is the emergence of certain language attributes in a community and these language attributes can be different from those in other communities. This also occurs in one of the largest online communities in Indonesia, Kaskus, where members of the community have special language attributes in interactions between members. The language attribute that appears in this community is a marker, either implicitly or explicitly, that those who use the language attribute are part of that community. In this study, the Kaskus online community has a language attribute in the form of registers used in greeting and promotion interactions.

Abstract

The prominence of the English language in various global domains has positioned it as the most dominant international language. However, learning English, especially within Islamic boarding schools ("pesantren"), presents unique challenges. This study focuses on the psychological issues faced by students when learning English within the pesantren context. Three significant psychological problems were identified through observations and interviews with 30 students: lack of learning motivation, lack of self-confidence, and excessive anxiety. Firstly, the lack of learning motivation stems from factors like academic boredom, inadequate understanding of material relevance, and perceived irrelevance of English. This study emphasizes the negative correlation between learning motivation and academic performance, highlighting the need for engaging teaching methods. Secondly, the lack of self-confidence affects students' academic performance. Social comparisons and feelings of inadequacy due to past experiences hinder students' self-assurance. Psychological support programs are necessary to bolster self-confidence and overcome these challenges. Thirdly, excessive anxiety in the academic environment adversely impacts students' performance. The correlation between anxiety levels and academic performance underscores the importance of holistic approaches to manage anxiety. Creating a relaxed environment, offering counseling support, and teaching stress management skills can assist students in coping effectively. The study highlights the crucial role of addressing psychological challenges to enhance students' academic performance. Teachers, institutions, and counselors should collaborate to address learning motivation, self-confidence, and anxiety, optimizing students' potential within a supportive educational context

Abstract

Character cultivation has an important role in overcoming the problems that occur in the world of education today. It is often found in various schools that students arrive late to school. Apart from that, there are also disciplinary problems that need to be addressed. This research aims to determine the role of Islamic religious education subject teachers in forming students' character values of discipline and responsibility at MA Darul Ma'arif Payaman Solokuro Lamongan, as well as to find out what supporting and inhibiting factors are in forming students' character values of discipline and responsibility. at MA Darul Ma'arif Payaman Solokuro Lamongan. This type of research is qualitative research or descriptive research. Descriptive type using field study methods (field research). The main research informants were Islamic religious education teachers and students of MA Darul Ma'arif Payaman Solokuro Lamongan, while secondary data sources were obtained in the form of documentation that had been determined by the researcher. Data collection techniques used participatory observation, free guided interviews and documentation. Based on the analysis carried out by researchers, it can be concluded that the formation of an attitude of discipline and responsibility is carried out using several mechanisms or methods, such as (a) habituation (b) providing examples or role models (c) awareness or motivation (d) control and supervision and ( e) the existence of regulations and punishments. There are also supporting factors such as (a) commitment of teachers and staff, (b) implementation of school programs, (c) implementation of local content. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are (a) lack of student awareness, (b) low student interest in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy of internalizing religious character values ​​in religious and social activities and what religious values ​​are internalized in Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Tarbiyatut Tholabah. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a case study design, data collection through interviews, documentation, and observation with informant sources from school leaders, teachers, and students. Data validity using triangulation techniques and data analysis through data reduction, data presentation and verification or data conclusions. The findings show that the strategy of internalizing religious values ​​based on religious and social activities is carried out through first routine activities, namely congregational prayer, routine Koran reading, and activities to commemorate Islamic holidays, second Social Community Activities such as social service programs and community service, third Habitual Approach in Daily Life contained in Islamic culture and daily monitoring by teachers, fourth is the Al-Qur'an Tahfidz Program. The religious values ​​that are internalized are the values ​​of faith and obedience to worship, honesty, responsibility, simplicity, tolerance, social concern. These results highlight the potential of integrating religious and social activities in the curriculum to develop broad-minded individuals who are spiritually grounded and socially responsible. This study contributes to the existing literature by providing empirical evidence on the effectiveness of integrating religious and social activities in character education in Islamic schools that can be recommended for wider implementation in other Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This article investigates the application of Hans-Georg Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics to Qur’anic verse Q.S. al-ʿAlaq:1, as interpreted in two contrasting commentaries: Tafsīr Jalālayn and Tafsīr al-Ibrīz. It asks how differing interpretive horizons shape educational meaning in Islamic exegesis. Positioning the study within philosophical Qur’anic hermeneutics, the analysis employs Gadamer’s key concepts—pre-understanding, fusion of horizons, and language as a medium of truth—to examine the textual and contextual layers of both tafsīrs. Jalālayn represents a classical, theological-legalist horizon, while al-Ibrīz embodies a Javanese pesantren-based cultural and spiritual horizon. The study finds that both commentaries reflect dynamic educational paradigms grounded in their respective historical and cultural contexts. It concludes that Gadamerian hermeneutics opens constructive avenues for dialogical, contextual Qur’anic interpretation and contributes to the development of culturally inclusive Islamic education. Artikel ini menelaah penerapan hermeneutika filosofis Hans-Georg Gadamer terhadap QS al-ʿAlaq:1 dalam Tafsīr Jalālayn dan Tafsīr al-Ibrīz. Pertanyaan utama yang diangkat adalah bagaimana perbedaan horizon penafsiran membentuk makna pendidikan dalam tafsir Al-Qur’an. Melalui pendekatan pre-understanding, fusion of horizons, dan bahasa sebagai medium kebenaran, ditemukan bahwa Jalālayn mewakili horizon klasik-teologis, sementara al-Ibrīz merefleksikan horizon budaya dan spiritual pesantren. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan hermeneutika Gadamer menawarkan kontribusi penting dalam pengembangan tafsir Al-Qur’an yang dialogis dan kontekstual untuk pendidikan Islam

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji pentingnya pendidikan tinggi sebagai bagian dari aktualisasi fitrah manusia dalam perspektif Islam yang wasathiyah dengan pendekatan multidisipliner sejarah, filsafat, dan sosial keagamaan. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih kuatnya pandangan patriarkis dan deterministik dalam masyarakat pesisir Pantura yang menganggap pendidikan tinggi, terutama bagi perempuan, sebagai hal yang kurang esensial. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif studi pustaka dan analisis teks, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pendidikan tinggi bukan hanya sarana untuk mencetak tenaga profesional, tetapi juga merupakan jalan kodrati bagi manusia untuk mengembangkan potensi akal, spiritual, dan sosialnya. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa konsep fitrah, ikhtiar, dan takdir dalam Islam justru mendorong manusia untuk terus belajar, termasuk hingga ke jenjang pendidikan tinggi. Integrasi teori pendidikan klasik nativisme, empirisme, dan konvergensi dengan prinsip-prinsip Islam menghasilkan kerangka pemikiran baru tentang urgensi pendidikan tinggi dalam membangun masyarakat yang berdaya dan berkeadaban. Implikasi dari studi ini memberikan dorongan untuk mendesain kurikulum dan kebijakan pendidikan yang inklusif serta kontekstual terhadap realitas sosial-ekonomi kawasan pesisir. Penelitian ini menyarankan pentingnya keterlibatan negara, pesantren, dan keluarga dalam menyadarkan masyarakat akan nilai strategis pendidikan tinggi sebagai jalan fitrah yang berkelanjutan.
