Abstract

The development of industrial technology has enhanced efficiency and productivity in production. The implementation of an electro-pneumatic system in an automatic stamping tool based on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) combines fast and powerful pneumatic motion with precise electrical control, enabling automation and reducing human intervention. This research aims to determine the optimal air pressure and piston force, and to evaluate factors affecting the quality of automatic stamping, such as media, stamp shape, and stamping time. The results show that an air pressure of 3 bar produces the best stamp, with cardboard, plastic, and wood being the most effective media. The rectangular stamp shape provides the best results, while the triangular shape performs the worst. A contact duration of 2 to 3 seconds is the most effective, whereas durations longer than 5 seconds reduce the quality of the stamp. The piston force reaches 60.288 N on the forward stroke and 60.203 N on the return stroke, indicating good stability. This technology enables efficient automated production, minimizes errors, and increases productivity.

Abstract

This article is motivated by the issue of ineffective handling of organic waste that causes negative impacts on the environment, including air, water, and soil pollution. However, many people do not realize that organic waste has considerable potential to be used as useful and have added value with proper processing, for example such as processing organic waste as material for making compost.This article focuses on the design and estimation of organic waste shredding machines, which are an important tool for processing organic waste into smaller particles. This organic waste shredding machine has a primary function, namely as a tool to accelerate the process of shredding organic waste into smaller particles. The project begins by identifying needs, including determining the desired processing capacity, the type of organic waste to be chopped, material selection, component size and shredding particle size. Then a conceptual design is made that includes important aspects such as the manufacture of the frame and engine body, shafts and bearings, blade components, transmission systems. Computer-based design software (CAD) is used to create 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional models of organic waste shredding machine, thus enabling visualization and refinement of the design. Cost and time estimation are an important part of this project. The estimation includes factors such as material costs and also assembly fabrication costs. Time estimation describes the stages in the design process, as well as the production process of the organic waste shredding machine itself. Time estimation describes the stages in the design process, as well as the production process of the organic waste shredding machine itself.The design and estimation process of this organic waste shredding machine produces a model of a organic waste shredding machine with a processing capacity of 1 kg, using the method of shredding blades shaped like propellers with a total of 24 blades, each of which has 3 blades. And there is a filter so that the shredding results have a size that is relevant to the size of compost in general, this organic waste enumeration process is supported by using an engine-powered gasoline engine with 5.6 HP that is transmitted to the shaft and a shredding blade through the pulley and v-belt transmission.

Abstract

In an industry with increasingly modern technology, an automatic control system is needed that can support the industrial production system to make it more stable and optimal. This research aims to design and implement an automatic feeding system for chickens using Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) technology and a pneumatic system. The background to this research is based on the importance of efficiency and effectiveness in chicken farming practices, especially in feeding which is a crucial factor for chicken growth and productivity. Using manual methods in feeding is still a challenge, especially for breeders with large chicken populations, because it can cause non-uniformity, waste of time and increase operational costs. It is hoped that the implementation of automation technology in the feeding system can overcome this problem by optimizing feed distribution and reducing manual intervention. The system developed in this research uses a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) to regulate the schedule and amount of feed given, while the pneumatic system is used as an actuator to open and close the feed door quickly and reliably. This research uses a qualitative method that focuses on in-depth observations to produce a more comprehensive study of the design. Test results show that this system is able to work efficiently and stably, ensuring timely distribution of feed at 07:00 and 17:00 and providing feed in quantities appropriate to livestock needs. Thus, it is hoped that the implementation of this technology can increase the productivity of chicken farms, reduce the farmer's workload, and ensure that each chicken gets optimal feed.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to make an automatic cracker measuring device using Arduino Uno as its control center which contains a program made in the Arduino IDE software. This tool is required to run a conveyor where if a cracker has been measured or weighed according to the 20gram setpoint specified in the program, a conveyor will run automatically. Here the weight sensor uses Load cell as a weight sensor and output in the form of a relay module, DC motor, LCD, to monitor and run a conveyor. Based on the measurement results table, the percentage error rate is input data 20 grams has a percentage error rate of 10.84%, input data 21 grams has a percentage error rate of 7.228%, input data 22 grams has a percentage error rate of 6.209%, input data 23 grams has a percentage error rate of 8.660%, input data 24 grams has a percentage error rate of 6.908%, and input data 25 grams has a percentage error rate of 7.44%. The analysis results have a percentage error rate of 8.660%, 24gram input data has a percentage error rate of 6.908%, and 25gram input data has a percentage error rate of 7.44%. So it can be concluded that the percentage of error rate can be caused by human error during measurement so that the accuracy of the load cell sensor measurement. It is concluded from the table above that when the weight of the cracker raw material given in the weighing process carried out by the load cell is below 23 grams, the process of frying crackers in the sieve will be less than the capacity. This is related to the process of developing fried crackers. When the crackers that are cooked by expanding in the sieve are less than the capacity, it will be said to be good because the crackers will not fall or exceed the capacity. So that the machine can accommodate the frying process of cracker material of no more than 23 grams because it adjusts to the shape of the pan with a diameter of 30 cm and the sieve used.

Abstract

The Cantilever structure is a structure that is commonly found in general. This structure usually consists of a beam that is supported or fixed at one end, while the other end of the material used as a Cantilever beam works openly (without support) and has a specific load at its end. When a load is applied to the open side, the supported end will experience a moment that varies in value depending on the applied load. This type of structure is widely used, generally in the installation of CCTV in open areas and in street lighting. Based on this background, the author aims to conduct research related to the planned material strength, namely carbon pipes. In addition, the research is conducted to minimize excessive expenditures, meaning that the goal is to design something that is useful, affordable, and has good durability or resilience in its operation. In this study, the method used is data collection through literature studies, interviews, or direct observations of the positions of the poles that have been installed along the passed roads. The result of this research is a robust yet inexpensive single cantilever structure, thus it can be concluded that a good, strong, and load-resistant structure does not always have to be made at a high cost.

Abstract

This study examines the design and evaluation of a three-story freight elevator system equipped with a weight sensor to enhance load measurement accuracy and operational efficiency. The designed system integrates a load cell and a DC motor, with tests conducted on load variations (200 g, 500 g, 700 g, and 1000 g) to assess load measurement accuracy and motor performance. The test results indicate that the placement of the load cell at the corner and middle side positions of the cabin causes significant measurement deviations, with deviations of up to -0.087% on the average total load. Additionally, a decrease in lifting speed and an increase in DC motor power consumption were observed with increasing load. This study aims to evaluate various aspects of the system design, the accuracy of load cell-based measurements, and the effect of mass variations on DC motor performance. Further research is recommended to explore testing under various environmental conditions and on a larger scale such as industrial loads to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the elevator system.

Abstract

Agriculture is a very important part of society in Indonesia. Agriculture is still a source of income for some people because most areas in Indonesia are agricultural land. To develop the results of agricultural land, but many agricultural lands have been converted. There is another way for people to utilise the narrow lands around the neighbourhood with the use of hydroponic planting method. Hydroponics is one of the modern methods of farming without using soil but using water by emphasising the fulfilment of nutrients and pH regulation in plants. This research aims to know and understand the characteristics of each tool that will be used. Measuring pH by using an automation system on hydroponic plants. Therefore, it is necessary to make innovations to the measurement of pH in hydroponic plants using an automation system. Controlling pH can be done manually using a pushbutton and automatically by determining the setpoint compared to the sensor reading. In a manual way we can adjust the pH level as desired by pressing the pushbutton either to increase the pH value or decrease the pH value. But in the automatic running system we only need to determine the setpoint used, in this system <7 then the pH up pump will turn on>7 then the pH down pump will turn on if =7 then both pumps will be in a state of not turning on. The components that can support this system are of course the sensor as a reader of the pH value, and the microcontroller as processing the pH data on the sensor then giving commands to the actuator, and of course the actuator is a pump. Automation of pH in hydroponics is certainly very effective and efficient compared to the manual method where we must always monitor directly, check directly, and control the pH value directly. But in the pH system automation everything can be done only through a smartphone.

Abstract

Pada umumnya pemeliharaan ikan pada akuarium konvesional atau akuarium-akuarium pada umumnya sistem dari pemeliharaan aquariumnya atau operational maintenancenya dilakukan secara manual dan itu bisa saja terhambat karena kesibukan aktivitas pemelihara ikan seperti pekerjaan dll.Seiring berjalannya waktu kini teknologi-teknologi berkembang secara pesat dan terbaharukan salah satu teknologi itu ialah teknologi Internet of Things yaitu perkembangan yang dapat mengoptimalkan kehidupan manusia dengan bantuan sensor dan kecerdasan buatan yang menggunakan jaringan internet untuk menjalankan perintah-perintah, dan menghubungkan baik itu manusia dengan perangkat maupun perangkat dengan perangkat lainnya.Oleh karena itu disini dibuatlah alat yang bernama Aquomation yang dimana alat ini akan memudahkan pemelihara ikan untuk merawat ikan dengan baik karena alat ini sangat mudah digunakan dan memiliki kinerja dan fungsi untuk mengontrol dan memonitoring aquarium seperti mengontrol dan memonitoring suhu pada akuarium, Mengontrol cahaya baik itu lampu UV maupun lampu LED, Mengontrol peralatan yang dibutuhkan akuarium seperti filter, skimmer, bahkan aerator, selain itu juga alat ini bisa untuk memberi pakan secara otomatis secara real time, dan semua fungsi yang dimiliki aquomation tersebut dapat dikontrol melalui handphone sehingga pemilik ikan dapat mengontrol dan memonitoring aquarium dari jarak jauh dengan memanfaatkan teknologi Internet of Thing. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, kinerja dari “aquomation” telah menunjukkan hasil yang sesuai dengan perencanaan .
