Abstract

Improper disposal of sharp medical waste is a critical environmental and occupational health issue, contributing to the spread of infectious diseases and increasing the risk of injury among healthcare workers. This study investigates the relationship between nurses’ knowledge, attitudes, and length of service with their practices in disposing of sharp medical waste at RS PKU Muhammadiyah, Indonesia. A cross-sectional analytic survey was conducted in April 2023 involving 71 contract nurses selected through random sampling. Data analysis included univariate and bivariate methods using the chi-square test. Findings revealed a statistically significant association between knowledge and proper disposal practices (p = 0.013), while no significant relationships were found for attitude (p = 0.838) or length of service (p = 0.786). These results highlight the pivotal role of knowledge in promoting safe and environmentally responsible medical waste management. Strengthening continuous education and training programs for healthcare personnel is essential to improving waste handling practices and minimizing environmental and health risks. Abstract

Yayasan Pondok Pesantren Nurul Huda is an Islamic educational institution facing challenges in financial management due to a manual bookkeeping system prone to errors and delayed reporting. To address this issue, a community engagement program was conducted to implement a digital financial information system that is efficient, accurate, and tailored to the institution's needs. The method employed a collaborative approach involving three main stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Initial mapping of financial processes was followed by system development and user training, then concluded with a usability evaluation. The program resulted in a functional digital financial information system supporting income, expenditure, student savings tracking, and report generation in both print and graphical formats. The system includes structured user roles and menus aligned with the foundation's organizational workflow. Usability testing using the SUS questionnaire with 23 respondents yielded an average score of 63.48, classified as “OK, Marginal, Passive” indicating the system is usable but requires interface improvements and continued support. This initiative significantly enhanced financial data management efficiency and strengthened digital literacy among foundation staff.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan remaja di wilayah Banguntapan Utara melalui pelatihan pembuatan Lubang Resapan Biopori (LRB) sebagai upaya konservasi air tanah dan pengurangan genangan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi ceramah, diskusi interaktif, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), demonstrasi, penyerahan alat, serta praktik langsung di lapangan. Remaja yang terlibat merupakan perwakilan dari setiap RT dan menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi selama pelatihan. Mereka dibekali pengetahuan tentang fungsi LRB dan cara pembuatannya, serta diberikan alat berupa bor biopori dan bahan pendukung untuk pembuatan tutup LRB. Praktik langsung dilakukan di sekitar Balai RW dengan hasil yang menunjukkan partisipasi aktif dan inisiatif tinggi dari para peserta. Hasil kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pelatihan berbasis partisipatif dan praktik lapangan efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran serta keterampilan remaja dalam pengelolaan lingkungan berbasis teknologi tepat guna.

Abstract

The main problem in this thesis concerns legal protection for workers who are laid off and experience unilateral termination of employment which occurred at company X in general, there are several workers’ rights that must be protected, and by protecting these rights is hoped that it can create a better and fairer environment and provide welfare for all workers. Legal protection for workers is regulated in Law No. 13 of 2003 concerning employment and Law No.11 of 2020 concerning job creation. The purpose of this study is so that everyone knows that workers have rights that must be protected by legal protection without any discriminatory treatment under employment laws and regulations. The discussion of this study is: 1. The basis of the regulation of legislation from the Termination of Employment. 2. Legal protection for workers who are laid off and experience unilateral termination of employment. The research method used is empirical/juridical sociological research, utilizing observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results of this study prove that company X laid off or terminated its employees due to a decrease in income. Therefore, Company X  decided to reduce the number of employees as a last step to reduce losses. Abstrak. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas branding dan strategi bisnis UMKM melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan intensif kepada beberapa UMKM mitra Rumah BUMN Surabaya. Pendampingan difokuskan pada tiga aspek utama: penyusunan Business Model Canvas (BMC), pembuatan Company Profile, dan desain moodboard Instagram. Kegiatan dilaksanakan oleh tiga mahasiswa magang selama tiga bulan dengan metode observasi, wawancara, workshop, dan evaluasi kuantitatif serta kualitatif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa UMKM mengalami peningkatan dalam memahami segmentasi pasar, memperkuat identitas brand digital, serta menyiapkan materi promosi yang profesional. Lebih dari 85% responden menyatakan puas terhadap tampilan Instagram baru dan profil usaha yang disusun. Artikel ini menekankan pentingnya pendekatan terstruktur dan kolaboratif dalam mendukung UMKM bertransformasi di era digital.
