Abstract

The purpose of thus research was to determine the influence of icebreaker in enhancing students achievement on mathematic of the children with mild intellectual. Disability of grade IV of SLB Putra Manunggal Gombong in the academic year of 2017 / 2018. This research used quantitative approach with the pre-experimental design using one group pre-test post-test design. The subject of this research were eight students with mild intellectual disability of grade IV of SLB Putra Manunggal Gombong in the academic year of 2017 / 2018. The technique was objective test in the form of multiple choice . the obtained data were analyzed quantitatively with Wilcoxin Sign Rank Test non parametric statistical analysis using 23 SPSS program. Based on the data analysys the post-test mean score of the research subject increased significantly, pre-test mean score was 63,12 and post-test mean score was 77,12. The result of non-parametric statistical analysis showed the score of 2 value= -2,530 with Asymp. Sig (2 tailed) = 0,011 which under 0,05 is smaller than a predetermined significance level or 0,011 < 0,05. It can be concluded that the use of icebreaker had influence in enhancing students achievement on mathematics of the children with mild intellectual disability of grade IV of SLB Putra Manunggal Gombong in the academic year of 2017/2018.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of play therapy to minimizing hyperactive behavior of mild intellectual disabilities student in 1st grade at SLB C Setya Darma Surakarta academic year of 2018/2019. The method for this research is using single subject research with particular intervention. The research was using A-B-A design, with first baseline as the original, then intervene the subject, and finally implemented the result to the second baseline afterward. Research subject in this study was a mild intellectual disabilities student who have hyperactive behavior in 1st grade at SLB C Setya Darma Surakarta academic year of 2018/2019. Data collection technique in this research was using observation and interview. This research was analysed with descriptive statistics and visual graph analysis technique. The result showed that there was a reduction to hyperactive behaviour. The average frequency in student's hyperactive behaviour at the first time was 34 times with duration of 20 minutes in 30 minutes lesson. Thereafter, the reduction was showed in the intervene stage to 28.5 with duration of 15 minutes in 30 minutes lesson. Whereas in the second baseline, the average frequency was 18.75 with duration of 10 minutes in 30 minutes lesson. Based on research result, it can be concluded that play therapy is effective in minimizing the behavior of mild intellectual disabilities student in 1st grade at SLB C Setya Darma Surakarta Academic Year of 2018/2019.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of reciprocal teaching application in improving the critical thinking skill of visually impaired student in SLB-A YKAB Surakarta on the academic of year 2019/2020. This study is classified as pre-experimental research with the form of one group pretest-posttest design. The Subjects in this study were seven students from 5th-9th grades in SLB-A YKAB Surakarta. The seven students became the research subjects after being selected using purposive sampling technique. Some subject criteria set in this study include: visually impaired student who have reached formal operational stage according to Piaget’s theory, were able to read, write, listen, and speak fluently, and have problems in developing critical thinking skills. Data collection in this study was done through observation and oral test. The instrument used in this study was validated by measurement expert, psychologist, and linguist and was tested to visually impaired students in SMP MIS Surakarta. The results of expert validation and instrument trials indicate that this instrument was valid with a validity coefficient of 0.92-1 and reliable with a reliability coefficient of 0.975. Then the instrument was used to measure the critical thinking skill of research subject before and after being given treatment through the application of reciprocal teaching. The pretest and posttest data were analyzed using non-parametric statistic with Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test type at the significance level of 0.05. According to the data analysis using SPSS 25, the Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value was obtained of 0.017. That value was smaller than 0.05, so that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, the application of reciprocal teaching has a significant effect towards the critical thinking skill of visually impaired student in SLB-A YKAB Surakarta on the academic of year 2019/2020.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the influence of self management techniques in reducing blindism behavior owned by visually impaired students in class VIII at SLB-A YKAB Surakarta. This research is a quantitative research using experimental research design with a single subject or Single Subject Research (SSR). The subjects of this study were visually impaired students of class VIII at SLB-A YKAB Surakarta. The data collection techniques that used in this study were the observation of participants and non-participants. Data analysis techniques used are visual analysis techniques in conditions and visual analysis between conditions. The results of experiments in the baseline phase were conducted as many as four sessions, obtained blindism frequency data in students as many as 20, 19, 21 and 21 times. This shows that the trend of the blindism behavior of educated participants was increased with a stability level of 100%, so that intervention was needed. The intervention phase was carried out in eight sessions and data on the frequency of blindism on students were 16, 12, 11, 11, 10, 9, 9 and 9 times. Referring to the data, it can be seen that the trend of decline and the level of stability of the data obtained was 87.5%. So that it can be concluded that self management techniques can reduce blindism behavior for visually impaired students in class VIII at SLB-A YKAB Surakarta.
