Abstract

To speak English fluently like a native speaker, having a vocabulary of 20,000 words are required. In many universities in Indonesia, Vocabulary Size Test (VST) is still held with Paper-Based Test (PBT), so it is less effective and efficient. The aims of this study were 1) to develop Computerized-Adaptive Testing (CAT), which helps get students with a standardized English vocabulary size, and 2) to implement it in measuring vocabulary size. The approach in this study is Research and Development (RD) with product development procedures following the steps of Borg and Gall. The findings of this study are, 1) the CAT program has Item Response Theory (IRT) parameters that can change according to the test takers' answers, and the test will stop if the estimated ability of the test takers is known (Standard Error/SE close to 0.01), and 2) with the application of the CAT program it can be seen that the total vocabulary of English Language and Teaching Department students is still 20,000. Based on these findings, this study implies that for students' vocabulary mastery to be on par with native speakers' abilities, the English Language and Teaching Department needs to evaluate the learning process and determine a particular program to increase student vocabulary.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mapping of the quality of Islamic higher education based on the similarity of student service satisfaction. This study used ex-post-facto research with an explorative. It employed a descriptive design. The subjects consisted of students from various study programs at the FETT, the SII Ambon. Data were collected through student satisfaction questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using Multidimensional Scaling. The results showed similarities in mapping the quality of Islamic higher education based on student service satisfaction from 6 study programs. It calculated the closest Euclidean distance between objects located in Biology Education and Islamic Education study programs or vice versa, where the proximity is 0.233. It indicates that the quality of education in student service satisfaction between Biology Education and Islamic Education study programs has the highest similarity compared to other study programs. The output of the MDS analysis obtained a stress value of 0.03671 (3.67%) and R2 of 0.99606. It represents an acceptable spatial map (R2 ≥ 0.6).

Abstract

This research focused on the brand equity assets of the Postgraduate of IAIN Ponorogo, precisely the perceived quality and brand association factors that affect consumer decisions. It was related to the choice of the 8th-semester students of IAIN Ponorogo in the academic year 2022/2023 in choosing the Postgraduate program. This research employed a quantitative methodology using binary logistic regression statistical techniques. It also used a random sampling method, randomly choosing student identification numbers to choose the sample. Therefore, every member of the population had an equal chance of being included in the sample, ensuring that the sample was representative of the population for research purposes. Questionnaires were used to gather key information: brand association, perceived quality, and brand awareness. The findings of this research show that: 1) the Postgraduate of IAIN Ponorogo ranked first for the top of mind level, with UIN Yogyakarta occupying the second spot; and 2) the internal quality of the Postgraduate program had a considerable impact on whether or not the 8th-semester students of the IAIN Ponorogo prioritized the Postgraduate program of IAIN Ponorogo.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas pengabdian di Desa Sambilawang, Kecamatan Bungkal, Kabupaten Ponorogo dengan menggunakan pendekatan ABCD (Asset Based Community Development). Fokusnya adalah pada pengembangan anak-anak sebagai aset, khususnya melalui Taman Pendidikan Anak (TPA) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan keagamaan. Meskipun TPA berperan penting, pengaruh teknologi digital, seperti gadget dan internet, juga perlu diperhatikan. Artikel menyoroti dampak negatif teknologi pada anak-anak dan beton bahwa orang tua memiliki peran krusial sebagai pendidikan pertama. Dalam mengatasi dampak negatif teknologi, artikel menciptakan kegiatan Smart Digital Parenting. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan orang tua dalam menghadapi permasalahan digital yang dihadapi anak-anak mereka. Respons positif dari orang tua terhadap kegiatan ini dan hasil wawancara menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan mereka. Artikel mengakui adanya kekurangan dalam memberikan solusi, terutama dalam fokus hanya pada pendampingan orang tua terhadap anak-anak. Artikel menekankan pentingnya peran orang tua dalam pembentukan karakter anak di era digital melalui pendekatan Smart Digital Parenting.

Abstract

In Indonesia, efforts to prevent inter-religious conflict must be encouraged. Instilling Religious Tolerance Attitudes among students will make the next generation of the nation accustomed to respecting differences so that they can maintain harmony in a pluralistic society. This study aims to determine (1) the influence of Self-Control and Educational Environment factors on Religious Tolerance Attitudes and (2) the regression model of Religious Tolerance Attitudes based on the factors of Self-Control and Educational Environment. This study uses a quantitative approach with a linear regression analysis technique. Data were obtained from a sample of 189 high school students. The results of the study showed: (1) Self-Control and Educational Environment have a significant effect on the Religious Tolerance Attitudes with R2 of 44.9%; and (2) The regression model is, Y = 42.010 + 0.310X1 + 0.251X2, meaning that Self-Control and Educational Environment have a positive effect on increasing the Religious Tolerance Attitudes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kinerja guru di YPI As Salam Sooko. Penelitian ini menggunakan kepuasan kerja sebagai variabel intervenening. Dari beberapa teori terkait pengaruh persepsi diri dan lingkungan terhadap kinerja guru, dikatakan bahwa semakin tinggi persepsi diri dan semakin baik lingkungan kerja maka akan semakin meningkatkan kinerja guru. Teori tersebut mendukung penelitian ini yakni pengaruh persepsi diri dan lingkungan terhadap kinerja guru di YPI As Salam Sooko Ponorogo. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis ex-post facto dengan teknik sampling jenuh sebanyak 53 responden, serta menggunakan analisis jalur (path analysis). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui serta menganalisis pengaruh antara persepsi diri, lingkungan dan kepuasan kerja terhadap kinerja guru, persepsi diri dan lingkungan terhadap kepuasan kerja, serta persepsi diri dan lingkungan terhadap kinerja guru melalui kepuasan kerja. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, (1) persepsi diri mempengaruhi kinerja guru sebesar 0.129, (2) lingkungan kerja mempengaruhi kinerja guru sebesar 0.177, (3) kepuasan kerja mempengaruhi kinerja guru sebesar 0.187, (4) persepsi diri mempengaruhi kepuasan kerja sebesar 0.110, (5) lingkungan kerja mempengaruhi kepuasan kerja sebesar 0.229, (6) kepuasan kerja memediasi pengaruh antara persepsi diri terhadap kinerja guru sebesar 0.147, dan (7) kepuasan kerja memediasi pengaruh antara lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja guru sebesar 0.183
