Abstract

Religious tourism holds a significant position in the global tourism industry, attracting visitors to culturally and spiritually significant pilgrimage sites. Indonesia, ranked second in The Global Travel Muslim Index 2022, has witnessed a rise in Muslim tourists exploring religious destinations. Ensuring the sustainability of religious tourism and enhancing the spiritual pilgrimage experience necessitates critical thinking, innovative approaches, and effective communication strategies. Promotion through social media is crucial for marketing religious tourism destinations. However, challenges persist in Indonesia's tourist development due to the absence of an integrated marketing communication strategy. Research emphasizes the importance of communication strategies and the preservation of cultural and religious diversity for the sustainability of religious tourism. In South Kalimantan, despite the potential for religious tourism, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a decline in visitor numbers. Employing a qualitative approach, including interviews and SWOT analysis, this study formulates a strategic communication plan for promoting the Guru Sekumpul Tomb. The strategy focuses on product packaging, nuanced marketing communication, a serene pilgrimage ambiance, and leveraging digital media platforms, along with collaboration with local stakeholders and optimal use of natural resources. Ultimately, integrating innovative knowledge and skills is crucial for the success and sustained viability of religious tourist sites, concurrently elevating the spiritual pilgrimage experience.

The majority of the population living along the riverbanks in Banjarmasin city are highly dependent on the river for their daily activities such as bathing, washing clothes, cooking, and defecating. On the other hand, it is known that the river water quality in Banjarmasin is heavily polluted, with the worst pollution coming from toilet waste. It is surprising that the river, which is already polluted, is still being used by the riverbank communities for their daily needs. Based on this, researchers were interested in understanding the perceptions, habits, and extent of environmental awareness and gender relations of the riverbank communities in Banjarmasin. The research used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques such as participatory observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the community's perception of the current condition of the river is very concerning and they are aware of the dangers posed by the pollution. The community's habits regarding environmental cleanliness vary depending on the human resources available in the area. Gender relations show that there is a fair division of roles between men and women in maintaining environmental cleanliness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level. To examine the assessment's preparation, implementation, and understanding among educators and strategies to develop literacy and numeracy within the assessment framework. This study used a qualitative approach, involving 24 subjects selected through stratified sampling based on school status and role, including principals, teachers, supervisors, and students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis followed the stages of Milles and Huberman, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion. The results showed that the preparation of the MCA included preparing facilities, improving internet connectivity, and training for teachers. The MCA was carried out by dividing students into several waves and sessions, including simulations before the assessment began. However, there needs to be more teachers' understanding of the objectives of the MCA, especially in terms of literacy and numeracy, which affects the overall effectiveness of the assessment. Strategies to develop literacy and numeracy, such as integrating technology into teaching practices, are essential to better prepare students for the digital aspects of the evaluation. In addition, the findings show that despite significant efforts made by schools to prepare for MCA, challenges such as inadequate technological resources, limited teacher preparedness, and technical issues during assessments pose substantial barriers. The study suggests that addressing these challenges is critical to improving the effectiveness of MCA and achieving its goals of improving student competency and overall educational quality.

Abstract

The concept of nusyuz in classical fiqh perspectives is often interpreted as a form of wife's defiance against her husband. This interpretation not only reflects the dominant patriarchal view of the past, but also has a significant impact on the formation of family law norms in various modern Muslim societies today. The purpose of this research seeks to reinterpret the concept of nusyuz in the construction of modern society. This qualitative research in the form of a literature study uses a descriptive-analytical approach. The research data used scientific literature related to the reinterpretation of the concept of nusyuz. Hermeneutic theory is used as the basis for perspective. Data were obtained using documentation techniques. Data analysis uses data reduction, presentation, and verification. The results concluded that in a hermeneutic perspective, the condition of the increasing role of women in the public sphere in the construction of modern society has led to changes in family structure, so it is important to reinterpret the concept of nusyuz to be more relevant to the needs of the times and in line with the principles of universal justice promoted by Islamic law. This research contributes to the importance of a contextual understanding of the concept of nusyuz to not only be understood from the normative side, but also from a socio-historical perspective
