Abstract

Abstract

The KIP scholarship is one of the scholarships available at IAIN Bukittinggi, and prospective recipients will be chosen based on the number of quotas available. Thus far, the selection process has been carried out by calculating the total value based on the sum of the percentages of each criterion arranged according to the level of importance. The procedure does not include a decision-making system for determining whether or not to accept the KIP scholarship. As a result, a decision support system is required to quickly and accurately determine which students are eligible for scholarships. In this research, the decision-making system compares the SAW and TOPSIS methods, with the latter using normalized weights in calculating the preference value as a determining value for alternative scholarship recipients to be selected. The SAW method was found to be more sensitive than the TOPSIS method in the data for the KIP scholarship 2020 recipients at IAIN Bukittinggi, with a sensitivity value of 96.87 compared to 81.96 for the TOPSIS method. Based on these findings, the SAW method can be recommended as a decision return system for KIP scholarship recipients to study at IAIN Bukittinggi the following year.

Abstract

Abstract

Studies on purchase intentions for halal products have focused more on the food and cosmetics sectors, while halal products in non-food sectors such as dishwashing soap have rarely been studied, even though the existence of these products is also important for Muslim consumers. This indicates a research gap that needs to be filled, especially considering the importance of hygiene in Islamic teachings and the increasing public awareness of the halalness of household products. Bukittinggi City was chosen as the study location because it is dominated by Muslim consumers who have a high concern for halal certification. The aim of this study is to assess the extent to which consumer attitudes and perceived usefulness can influence purchase intentions for halal-labeled dishwashing soap in Bukittinggi City. This study was conducted using a quantitative approach and a survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 124 respondents. The PLS (Partial Least Square) technique in the SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) approach was applied to analyze the data, with the help of SmartPLS.3.0 software. The findings in this study show that consumer attitudes and perceived usefulness significantly influence purchase intentions. The conclusion of this research is that the more positive consumers' attitudes and the greater usefulness they perceive from non-food halal products, the greater their purchase intention. The implication of this finding is the importance of businesses adopting Sharia values and providing halal education in their marketing strategies for household products.

Abstract

Abstract

Although low mathematics achievement and weak student self-efficacy remain persistent concerns in junior secondary education, evidence on the use of student-centered digital learning models in MTs mathematics classrooms remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the Flipped Classroom learning model in improving mathematics learning outcomes and self-efficacy among eighth-grade students at MTsN 10 Agam. A quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only group design was employed. The population comprised all eighth-grade students across four classes, with class VIII.4 assigned as the experimental group and class VIII.1 as the control group through cluster random sampling. Data were collected using a mathematics achievement test and a self-efficacy questionnaire and analyzed using a t-test with SPSS. The findings showed that students in the experimental class achieved higher mathematics learning outcomes than those in the control class, with mean scores of 78.88 and 57.80, respectively, and a significant t-test result (tcount = 4.876 > ttable = 1.68). Students’ self-efficacy was also higher in the experimental class than in the control class, with mean scores of 99.04 and 92.70, respectively, supported by the hypothesis test result (tcount = 1.70 > ttable = 1.68). SPSS analysis further indicated a significance value of 0.000, confirming the effect of the Flipped Classroom model. These findings demonstrate that the Flipped Classroom learning model is effective in improving both mathematics learning outcomes and self-efficacy among MTs students. The study contributes to mathematics education by highlighting the pedagogical value of integrating technology and digital media to support independent learning, strengthen conceptual understanding, and enhance students’ confidence in their mathematical abilities.
