Abstract

Abstract

Smoking is a behavior that can be harmful and has a bad risk to health if consumed at a young age. Smoking also causes the exercise pulse to become abnormal during exercise. The 6-minute walking test is also a practical test for estimating cardiorespiratory fitness. The purpose of this study was to determine physical fitness, resting pulse and exercise pulse with the 6-Minute Walk Test. The method used was a quasi-experimental with a sample of 60 student respondents who were divided into two groups: smokers and non-smokers. The results showed that the mean resting heart rate in the smoking group was 95.80 ± 10.89 and the exercise heart rate was 101.83 ± 16.58, while in the non-smokers group the resting heart rate was 95.06 ± 13.29 and the exercise heart rate was 98.46 ± 15.74. The mean distance traveled in the smoking group was 355.16 ± 24.30 and the non-smokers group was 377.13 ± 49.06. The conclusion showed that there was no significant difference between the smoking and non-smoker groups in both resting and exercise heart rate with p values of 0.816 and 0.423 (p<0.05).

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: General anesthesia is a loss of consciousness caused by pharmacological induction which causes loss of sensory reflexes. General anesthesia is a technique that is often used, more than 80% of operations use general anesthesia compared to other anesthesia techniques. General anesthesia often causes anxiety in patients. Pre-operative anxiety is a condition associated with fear before surgery. Methods: The research design used is descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional research design. The population in this study were all surgical patients with general anesthesia at PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample size of 50 people. Univariate data analysis was carried out to see the frequency distribution and bivariate analysis used the chi-square test. Results: The research results showed that the majority of respondents, namely 66%, had little knowledge about surgery and 24% of respondents experienced serious anxiety about undergoing surgery. The results of the chi-square test showed a p value of 0.000 (p<0,05) with a percentage of relationship accuracy of 64,7%. Conclusion: The conclusion from the results obtained is that there is a close relationship between patient knowledge and the level of pre-operative anxiety in general anesthesia patients

Abstract

Background: Anesthesia documentation is an important part of nurse anesthetist to ensure patient safety and compliance with health service standards. However, the level of compliance of nurse anesthetist in documentation still varies. Non-compliance in documentation can lead to incomplete information, potentially affecting the quality of patient care and the safety of anesthesia procedures. Objective: This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the compliance of nurse anesthetist in the process of documenting anesthesia at dr. Soedirman Hospital of Kebumen. Methods: This study applied a descriptive qualitative approach with a single case study design using thematic analysis method. The participants of the study were nurse anesthetist working at dr. Soedirman Hospital of Kebumen as many as 3 participants selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews and observations. Results: The results of the study identified three main themes that influenced the compliance of nurse anesthetist in documenting anesthesia, namely: theme I the process and obstacles in documentation, theme II internal factors that influence compliance such as knowledge, attitudes, and motivation, theme III external support and workload such as supporting facilities and evaluation from supervisors. Conclusion: Nurse anesthetist’ compliance in anesthesia documentation is influenced by internal and external factors.
