Abstract

This paper describes several forms of therapy for spiritual well-being and physical health based on the values of sufism (tasawwuf) and spiritual exercise (riyadhah). The variety of methods contained in these therapeutic forms can be generally found within sufism in theory, but not specifically in practice. These practical experiences is thus part of a ‘local wisdom’ (kearifan lokal) tradition deserving of study and research.Thus far, the therapies have been performed with patients who suffer from physical ailments such as heart disease, cholesterol excess, hypertension, gout, and kidney disorder, as well spiritual illnesses such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, and phobias.From the perspective of sufism, these conditions appear because of the sinful actions committed by the sufferers. These sins disturb or trouble the sufferers’ soul, causing it to acquire negative traits, blocking its ‘link’ to God who is the Source of Peace, Happiness, and Well-being (as-Salam). The ‘further’ a person is from God, the ‘nearer’ the person is to problems and disease, and vice-versa. To attain physical and spiritual well-being is to become closer to God.In practice, to cure illnesses, the therapies take the following forms: Rasa Ruhani (Spiritual Sensation), Shalat and Thuma’ninah (Prayer with Concentration), and Terapi Nafas (Breathing Therapy).

Abstract

This article explains about an effort of livening up spirituality in one’s self based on religious understanding, namely through the doctrines and values of Sufism in order to get close to God (taqarrub ilâ Allâh). It aims to reach spiritual theistic using a method of “the Breath of Consciousness”. The method uses breath, i.e. inhaling and exhaling, as we usually do. The method consists of three important steps, are: breathing calmly, breathing deeply, and breathing gently. The key to the success of this method is consistent implementation (istiqa}mah) and simultaneous practice. “The Breath of Consciousness” should be done through seven sequential steps and stages, namely breathing in consciousness, looking in consciousness, feeling in consciousness, moving in consciousness, walking in consciousness, speaking in consciousness, and presence in consciousness. The expected contribution of the method is providing the society, especially the Muslim community, an easy technique to get close to God. Moreover, the method—when implemented correctly—will result in healthy body, pure mind, quiet soul, and peaceful heart. In doing so, the article aims to elaborate the integration of psychology and Sufism as an approach to the study of soul and consciousness.

Abstract

This article describes the qashash or stories contained in the Qur'an which are used as a method to create intelligent and monotheistic people. The stories of the Qur'an are useful in the formation of human characters who are virtuous and have the creed of monotheism. The stories of the Qur'an become part of an effective educational method for the formation of a soul that unites God. So that it will produce intelligent humans. With stories or stories, students will get a touch of values that will affect their character. An educator can use stories as an alternative method of forming students' souls, especially in the affective and psychomotor domains. The research method in writing this article is a qualitative approach, tahlili interpretation.

Abstract

Amtsal alquran merupakan gagasan gaya bahasa yang padat namun indah perumpamaannya. Adapun tujuan daripada artikel ini ialah untuk mencari dan menggali nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang ada di dalam al-Quran yang bentuk penyampaiannya menggunakan amtsal. Metode penulisan artikel ini ialah studi pustaka dengan menggunakan perumpamaan yang konkrit, sehingga para pembaca dan pendengar akan merasakan pesan yang disampaikan seakan terlihat secara langsung. Adapun kesimpulan dari penulisan artikel ini bahwa ada beberapa nilai- nilai pendidikan karakter yang disampaikan oleh Allah di dalam Alquran dengan menggunakan metode amtsal Alquran, di antaranya: untuk menjadi mukmin sejati, tidak terlalu mengedepankan hawa nafsu duniawi, bersikap bijaksana dalam mengelola harta, mengerjakan amal saleh, dan bertakwa kepada Allah ta’ala.

Abstract

The issue of moral education is widely discussed in various books and articles, which makes this issue a trending topic of discussion. Concepts and discussions about this issue also vary, depending on the angle from which this problem is viewed. This study examines the value of moral education in the Qur'an. This study focuses on the verse of Muhkam in the Qur'an surah Al-Isra’ which aims to find out how the value of moral education is contained in the verse of Muhkam. This research is a literature study that uses the Qur'an as primary data. The secondary data were taken from various Quran interpretation books and other supporting books and articles related to the value of moral education. This study uses content analysis and uses a thematic interpretation approach (maudhu'i). The results of this study are the value of moral education which includes how to have morals towards God, morals towards others, and morals towards self.

Abstract

In the book Negarakertagama which was written by Mpu Prapanca when under the rule of King Hayamwuruk from the Majapahit kingdom in 1365 AD, initially Madura was an archipelago with Java. Some argue that the islands of Madura and Java were separated in 929 AD due to a volcanic eruption. Islam entered Madura intensively around the 15th century AD along with the waning influence of the Majapahit kingdom in East Java. In the 16th century Madura was divided into two regions. first, west madura whose area is Arosbaya which later became Bangkalan and Sampang. The two East Madura, namely Sumenep and Pamekasan. The history of the development of Islam in Bangkalan began with the reign of Panembahan Pratanu, who had the title Weak Dhuwur. While the spreaders of Islam in Sumenep include Sunan Padusa. The spread of Islam on the island of Madura was spread through trade, not by war. This is in accordance with the Islamic religious principle of spreading peace. The war that occurs is only to maintain what already exists, not to hold something that doesn't yet exist.

Abstract

Dewasa ini banyak sekali umat islam yang salah kaprah bahkan sulit membedakan antara kewajiban dengan sunnah, makruh atau bahkan hanya sebatas adat istiadat. Hal itu lah yang menarik penulis berkeinginan membahas tentang meluruskan paradigma islam kearab-araban dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif analisis. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa sesungguhnya terdapat perbedaan pendapat tentang isbal dan juga cadar. Satu hal yang pasti jika ditelisik lebih dalam ternyata ada korelasinya dengan sejarah akan kedua contoh budaya arab yang kemudian di adopsi islam tersebut. Pertama perihal isbal, isbal dilarang sebab dalilnya dikhawatirkan sombong, pabila tidak terbersit kesombongan dihati maka itu tidaklah dilarang. Begitupun juga dengan cadar, bahwa sesungguhnya cadar hanyalah sebahagian budaya arab dan timur tengah ketika itu. Yang kemudian masih dipertahankan oleh orang arab yang masuk islam, itulah yang kemudian berlanjut sampai saat ini.

Abstract

Abstract: The Ayat Mutasyabih is frequently become interesting materials of discussion among Muslims due to the unclear content of its meaning. Moreover, if the Ayat is related to the name of Allah or monotheism, it can lead to disbelievers. The word that is most often debated by scholars today is the word Istawa, because this word in the Qur'an is directly attributed to Allah. There are various ways by which scholars interpret the ayat, some interpret it as it is without interpreting it to other meanings, and some the other way around. So this is the main object of study in this paper. This paper was written using the literature study method, namely by looking at books related to the title of this paper. From the sources obtained, it can be concluded that the scholars in understanding the word istawa are divided into two groups, namely groups that do not seek other meanings just as they are without questioning, simulating, and assuming anything. The second group is the scholars who are looking for Takwil from the word IstawaKeyword: Mutasyabih, Takwil, Istawa.

Abstract

Social change can occur due to many things. In general, social change can be caused by an increase in population, expansion of territory, revolution or rebellion in the country, even caused by conflict (social conflict) and others. During the time of Imam Malik, social changes occurred when the territory of Islamic rule expanded to various parts of the world. This situation prompted the Ulama to develop the ijtihad method to respond to new problems that arose in various Islamic jurisdictions. At that time, two streams of religious understanding appeared with different methods of understanding religious texts. Beginning with the emergence of a group of hadith experts or atsar experts who make the holy book and the traditions of the apostles the basis of religious understanding. Then came the ra'yi or ra'yu method expert group. This group uses a legal understanding of the scriptures and hadiths in a textual way, but puts forward the aims and objectives contained in the 'illah-'illah of the law of theorem. The Muslim community in the city of Medina represents a group of hadith experts. Meanwhile, the Islamic community living in Iraq represents the ra'yi expert group. So that the two streams have often debated in matters of religious understanding, especially fiqh, since the tabiin era.

Abstract

This article wants to find several styles and models of spirituality in modern society that arise due to inner uncertainty in interpreting life in the modernization era. Modernity has indulged in ease and promised luxury in life as well as worship of science and technology and abandoned religious teachings. This research is of a normative type with a sufistic approach and is descriptive in nature which produces five features and two models namely: 1) heteronomy spirituality, 2) autonomous spirituality, 3) interactive spirituality, 4) extactic spirituality, and 5) constructive spirituality and 1) post-spirituality, and 2) urban sufism.Artikel ini ingin menemukan beberapa corak dan model spiritualitas masyarakat modern yang muncul akibat ketidakpastian batin dalam memaknai kehidupan di era modernisasi. Kemodrenan telah mengumbar kemudahan dan menjanjikan kemewahan dalam kehidupan sekaligus pemujaan terhadap ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi serta meninggalkan ajaran agama. Penelitian ini berjeniskan normatif dengan pendekatan sufistis serta bersifat deskriftif yang menghasilkan lima corak dan dua model yakni: 1) spiritualitas heteronomy, 2) spiritualitas otonom, 3) spiritualitas interaktif, 4) spiritualitas ekstaktik, dan 5) spiritualitas konstraktif serta 1) post-spiritualitas, dan 2) urban sufism.
