Abstract

Traditional fishermen and divers are activities that are generally carried out by people in coastal areas. Kuta area, Mandalika is one of the coastal areas located on the island of Lombok. Diving activities and catching marine products are generally carried out in a hereditary manner and do not meet the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for safe and correct diving and are not followed by knowledge of the safety and health of diving so that it can cause problems in several organs of the body and the most often is the ear. In addition, health problems in coastal communities, especially in the field of ENT are also influenced by several factors including clean and healthy living behavior and environmental sanitation. Therefore, in this national social service activity, ENT health service activities and ear cleaning are carried out to obtain an overview of the health conditions of the people in coastal areas. The results of the ENT examination obtained in this activity are that in general the community has a good health status, although there are still several health problems that need attention, namely cerumen impaction and middle ear infection (CSOM), so it is necessary to carry out similar activities in coastal communities, especially on the island of Lombok to achieve better health status

Abstract

COVID-19 ini dengan penyebaraan pandemi dan merupakan penyakit baru sehingga gejala klinis dan patofisiologinya juga masih baru. Gangguan penghidu yang muncul sebagai hiposmia atau anosmia tidak jarang terjadi sebagai gejala COVID-19. Data mengenai gangguan penghidu pada pasien COVID-19 di luar negeri sudah banyak dilaporkan, namun di Indonesia masih sedikit dan di NTB belum ada yang melaporkan. Data karakteristik gejala gangguan penghidu diambil dari rekam medis pasien yang dirawat inap di Rumah Sakit Universitas Mataram (RS Unram) dan terkonfirmasi positif COVID-19 dengan rt-PCR. Data gangguan penghidu disajikan secara deskriptif mengenai karakteristik gangguan penghidu berdasarkan jenis kelamin, usia, pendidikan dan gejala yang dikeluhkan pada pasien COVID-19. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan pasien COVID-19 dengan gangguan penghidu sebanyak 32 (7,5%) pasien COVID-19 yang dirawat inap di RS Unram periode Januari sampai dengan Agustus 2021. Seluruh pasien dengan keluhan gangguan penghidu mengeluhkan tidak bisa mencium bau (anosmia). Berdasar jenis kelamin 20 (62,5%) adalah laki-laki dan 12 (37,5%) perempuan, kelompok usia paling banyak adalah 20-30 tahun dengan rata-rata usia 34 tahun. Gejala lain yang dikeluhkan pasien COVID-19 dengan gangguan penghidu adalah batuk 8 (25%) pasien, pilek 5 (15,6%), demam 3 (9,4%). Pasien Covid-19 dengan keluhan gangguan penghidu yang dirawat di RS Univeritas Mataram adalah 7,5% dengan karakteristik gejala yang dilaporkan pasien keseluruhannya adalah tidak dapat mencium atau anosmia

Abstract

Gold mining that uses mercury in coastal areas exposes various mercury species to the environment and humans living in contaminated areas. The mercury species that reach the population in these areas include elemental mercury, inorganic mercury, and organic mercury. The mercury cycle from gold mining begins with the release of elemental and inorganic mercury into the sea. The bioaccumulation and biomagnification of organic mercury in the ocean will expose coastal populations to methylmercury. The exposure routes of mercury to humans from these different mercury species vary, including through the skin, respiratory system, and digestive system. Organ damage and clinical symptoms that appear depend on the affinity of the mercury species for specific organs. Symptoms of intoxication can range from central nervous system dysfunction, kidney damage, and a spectrum of disorders in other organs.
