Abstract

Sari Nikmat’s Frozen food UKM located in Malang, East Java faces problems in the process of refining refined sugar that is included in frozen donut packaging products. The process of refining refined sugar so far has been carried out manually by workers using plastic spoons and put into plastic clips. The process makes the dose is not precise and more varied. The next problem, the packaging owned by Sari Nikmat’s Frozen food UKM is the same size while there are many requests from customers to make large sized packaging. The Sari Nikmat’s Frozen food UKM have not yet thought about how to design large sized packaging. In terms of marketing, Sari Nikmat UKM has several distributors, the majority of which are in housing, the UKM wants to make a banner design as a promotional medium for the availability of Sari Nikmat frozen food products at the distributor’s location. As a proposal for the completion of this Community Partnership Program is the procurement of digital scales that can increase the productivity and precision of packaging refined sugar, making packaging designs for larger sizes, and making banner designs for information on product availability to be installed at several distributors.

Abstract

The reliability of the electric power system is very important in the continuity of the supply of electrical energy to the load. One of the important parts in the electric power system is the transformer. Maintaining the reliability of the transformer is an effort to make electrical energy channeled properly. For this reason, efforts are needed to evaluate whether the transformer is in good condition or not by using the Weibull distribution. By looking at the average failure rate, the MTTF value is used as a benchmark for reliability. It is based on the number of disturbances that cause the transformer to fail to operate. The results of the reliability analysis with the Weibull distribution on distribution transformers in the Rungkut ULP area during the time span from 2019, 2020, 2021 obtained an average failure rate of 18.321894% per year, with an MTTF value of 0.054579 per year, so the value reliability obtained 0.981. So according to Croanbach alpha, this value belongs to a very reliable level.

Abstract

Power Transformers are one of the core equipment found in substations. Every year the need for electricity increases, so that the transformer can work optimally, the loading must also be considered. According to IEC 354, if the transformer is underload it is 100% stable at conditions around 20℃ and the winding temperature is 98℃, but if the ambient temperature is more than 20℃ then the life of the transformer will be reduced. In this research, the loading data used is a 60 MVA power transformer for 2020-2022, specifically to predict the age of the transformer from the load increase factor in the coming year using the linear trend method. The linear trend method aims to predict the burden in the following year and every year the burden increases. an increase of 2%. To find out the results of load forecasting, the prediction in 2030 has a life loss value of 1.2 p.u or the estimated remaining life of the power transformer is 1 year 6 months with a load of 88.64%.

Abstract

An inverter is an electrical device that converts direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC). Typically, a standard inverter operates at three voltage levels: +Vdc, -Vdc, and 0. However, a multilevel inverter consists of several smaller inverters connected in a series to produce multiple voltage levels at the output. The primary advantage of this type of inverter lies in its ability to produce a much lower harmonic distortion compared to traditional, non-multilevel inverters. Additionally, the switching components of a multilevel inverter operate at lower frequencies, which makes it more suitable for highpower applications. This research focuses on a threephase cascaded multilevel inverter, specifically generating output waveforms with up to seven levels. The study involves conducting experiments using RL loads, to observe how these variations affect the output waveforms and their harmonic distortions. The result, THDi values are much lower, with the 3rd harmonic contributing 0.02%, the 5th contributing 0.006%, the 7th contributing 0.004%, the 9th contributing 0.002%, the 11th contributing 0.002%, and the 13th harmonic contributing just 0.001%. These results suggest that the voltage harmonic more significant harmonic distortion than the current, particularly at the 13th harmonic order. This increase highlights the effect of inductive loads on the performance of the inverter, particularly in terms of harmonic content. These findings are crucial for optimizing multilevel inverters in practical applications, ensuring improved performance and efficiency.

Abstract

Introduction of Solar Panels as a Renewable Energy System for high school students in Surabaya City. In particular, the city of Surabaya can be an effort to support the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program. The team has held online discussions with partners, namely SMAN 20 Surabaya to carry out the introduction of solar panels as a renewable energy system to students at SMAN 20 Surabaya. The purpose of community service is to socialize the use of solar power plants through learning activities (education) and solar power plants training for school students and teachers. The method used in this activity is divided into three stages. In the first stage, field observations were carried out to find problems related to the availability of electrical energy in schools. In the second stage, the implementation of community service includes the delivery of solar panel material with lectures, demonstrations, and the design of solar power plants systems at schools. In the third stage, it is an evaluation or feedback stage by giving questionnaires to participants. The results of this community service activity provide information on understanding solar panels and batteries in the good category. Practical activities need to be taught to student, so solar power plants teaching aids are needed at the school. The team made an educational activity for students, namely a demo of converting solar energy into electrical energy. The implementation of this community service has been carried out well.
