Abstract

This research investigation aims to investigate a connection between seIf-efficacy and emotionaI inteIIigence with work engagement among startup employees. This study uses a correIationaI quantitative approach invoIving 105 startup empIoyees as sampIes taken through totaI sampIing. Data coIIection instruments used the UWES 17 scale for work engagement, the seIf-efficacy scaIe, and the trait emotionaI inteIIigence questioner SF V.1.50 scale. The anaIysis resuIts indicate that, simultaneousIy, seIf-efficacy and emotionaI intelligence have a significant reIationship with work engagement. The coefficient of determination value provides, seIf-efficacy and emotionaI inteIIigence contribute effectiveIy to work engagement by 24.4%. Based on resuIts of the regression coefficient equation test, it was found that seIf-efficacy and emotionaI intelligence can predict work engagement scores. PeneIitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengidentifikasi keterhubungan antara efikasi diri dan emotionaI inteIIigence dengan work engegement pada karyawan startup. PeneIitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan melibatkan 105 karyawan startup sebagai sampel yang diambiI melalui teknik totaI sampIing. Instrumen pengambilan data dilakukan melalui skala UWES‑17, skaIa efikasi diri dan skala trait emotionaI inteIIigence questioner SF V.1.50. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa secara simultan, efikasi diri dan emotionaI inteIIigence terdapat hubungan signifikan pada work engagemennt. Berdasarkan niIai koefisien determinasi didapatkan efikasi diri dan emotional intelligence menghasilkan sumbangann efektif kepada work engagement sejumIah 24,4%. Berdasarkan hasiI uji persamaan koefisien regresi didapatkan bahwa efikasi diri dan emotionaI inteIIigence dapat memprediksi niIai work engagement.

Abstract

Kualitas kerja adalah hasil yang dapat diukur dengan efektifitas dan efisiensi suatu pekerjaan yang dilakukan oleh sumber daya manusia dalam mencapai tujuan organisasi. Pegawai yang berkualitas dan mampu mempersiapkan masa purna tugasnya dengan baik akan bekerja dengan efisien dan menjadi lebih unggul. Pelaksanaan pengabdian dilakukan pada tanggal 24 April 2022 dengan menggunakan metode pelatihan. Hasil analisis pre-test dan post test dihitung menggunakan SPSS 20 for windows dengan menggunakan Uji Mann Whitney U-Test. Hasil analisis pada persiapan pensiun diperoleh skor Z sebesar -9,916 dengan signifikasi = 0,000 (p<0,05). Artinya dapat dijelaskan bahwa ada perbedaan yang sangat signifikan antara persiapan pensiun dosen ketika sebelum dan sesudah diberi pelatihan. Kemudian, Berdasarkan hasil analisis pada kualitas kerja dosen diperoleh skor Z sebesar -9,920 dengan signifikasi = 0,000 (p<0,05). Artinya dapat dijelaskan bahwa ada perbedaan yang sangat signifikan antara kualitas kerja dosen ketika sebelum dan sesudah diberi pelatihan.

Abstract

Employee welfare is important because employees are a valuable asset of the company. Employees who have psychological well-being will contribute more to the company. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between mindfulness and employee psychological well-being with self-compassion as a mediator. Non-experimental quantitative research method with survey method, using google form. The research scale used was Ryff Psychological Well Being 18 items, Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS) 15 items, 12 items Short Form Neff's Self-Compassion. The data analysis technique uses path analysis with the JASP Program. The results of the study showed that all hypotheses were accepted, mindfulness had an effect (estimate=0.147) on the psychological well-being of employees. Self Compassion has an effect (estimate=0.808) on psychological well-being. Mindfulness can increase self-compassion (estimate= 0.399) so that individual interpersonal interaction improves, self-compassion is one of the potential mechanisms that link mindfulness with psychological well-being (estimate=0.323). The conclusion of this study is that there is a positive relationship between mindfulness, self-compassion and psychological well-being. Increasing mindfulness and self-compassion will improve the psychological well-being of employees. Employees who have high psychological well-being will automatically be better in their performance and performance.

Abstract

Job hopping is a phenomenon of frequent job changes that has become increasingly prevalent among Generation Z, who are young workers. Generation Z tends to switch jobs in order to meet their expectations related to satisfaction and work-life balance. This study aims to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and work-life balance with job hopping behavior among Generation Z. The subjects of this study were Generation Z employees currently working at PT. X Surabaya, with a population size of 130 individuals. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with the random sampling method, resulting in a sample of 108 respondents. Multiple regression analysis was employed as the data analysis technique. The results of the analysis show that job satisfaction and work-life balance have a simultaneous and significant relationship with job hopping. Both job satisfaction and work-life balance were found to have a negative association with job hopping, with job satisfaction having a stronger influence compared to work-life balance.

Abstract

This study aims to explore university students’ lived experiences in using ChatGPT as a medium for learning engagement. A phenomenological method was employed to capture the essence of students’ experiences. The participants consisted of first-year undergraduate students from the Communication Science program at the State University of Surabaya, selected due to their transitional learning phase from secondary to higher education. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Data analysis followed a phenomenological procedure that involved transcript reading, meaning identification, thematic clustering, the development of textual and structural descriptions, and the synthesis of the essence of the phenomenon. The findings reveal that students utilize ChatGPT to answer questions, explain concepts, support writing and text editing, stimulate creativity and content production, and assist with analysis and problem-solving tasks. These findings indicate that artificial intelligence has become an integral component of the higher education learning ecosystem, necessitating a reconsideration of how student learning processes are understood. The results further suggest a shift in learning patterns—from exploratory to instant learning, from process-oriented to outcome-oriented approaches, and from independent learning to AI-assisted dependence. Excessive and uncritical use of AI may lead to a decline in students’ critical thinking, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Therefore, this study recommends the cultivation of wise and reflective AI use among university students to ensure that AI serves as a supportive tool rather than a substitute for essential cognitive and metacognitive learning processes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between internal locus of control and academic stress in working students. Working students face simultaneous academic and work demands that can potentially increase academic stress. Internal locus of control is an individual's belief that success and failure are determined by personal effort and ability. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The subjects were 239 working students at the University of 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments included the internality aspect of Levenson's (1981) internal locus of control scale and a modified Gad zella's (1994) Student-Life Stress Inventory (SLSI). Data were analyzed using Spearman correlation with SPSS version 27. The results showed a highly significant negative relationship between internal locus of control and academic stress (r = -0.561; p = 0.001), with a contribution of 74.2%. This finding indicates that the higher the internal locus of control, the lower the academic stress level of working students.

Abstract

Cyberloafing is a behavior where employees use internet access during working hours for personal interests, which can potentially reduce productivity. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-regulation and cyberloafing behavior among employees. This research uses a quantitative method with a correlation design. The subjects of this study were 100 employees of PT. Total Retalindo Maju Bersama. Data collection used a self-regulation scale and a cyberloafing scale. The data analysis technique used was Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results showed a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.315 with a significance level of 0.001 (p 0.05). This indicates that there is a significant negative relationship between self-regulation and cyberloafing. The contribution of self-regulation to cyberloafing is 9.9%, while the rest is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara Work Engagment dan Self Control dengan Cyberloafing pada Karyawan PT X. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 134 Karyawan PT X. Hasil analisis regresi berganda menunjukan bahwa hubungan antara Work Engagment dan Self Control secara simultan dengan Cyberloafing  memperoleh nilai F = 32.716 dengan signifikasi 0,000 < 0,05 yang berarti terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara Work Engagment dan Self Control dengan Cyberloafing pada Karyawan PT X. Hasil uji parsial pada variabel Work Engagment memperoleh nilai (β= -0,079; t= -0,952) dengan signifikasi 0,343 < 0,01 tidak terdapat hubungan negatif yang tidak signifikan antara work engagement dengan cyberloafing. sehingga Dalam penelitian ini, work engagement tidak terbukti secara statistik berpengaruh terhadap cyberloafing. Sedangkan hasil uji parsial pada variabel Self Control memperoleh nilai (β= -0,532; t= -6.396) dengan signifikasi 0,000 < 0,01 yang berarti terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara Self Control dengan Cyberloafing sehingga semakin tinggi perilaku Cyberloafing, maka semakin rendah Self Control yang dimiliki.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan optimisme dan dukungan sosial dengan resiliensi pada pekerja coffee shop Generasi Z di Surabaya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan teknik purposive sampling. Partisipan berjumlah 163 pekerja coffee shop Generasi Z yang direkrut melalui kuesioner daring (Google Form) yang disebarkan dengan mendatangi coffee shop serta melalui tautan WhatsApp pada komunitas pekerja coffee shop di Surabaya. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari skala optimisme berdasarkan Scheier dkk. (1994) (10 aitem; α = 0,728), skala dukungan sosial berdasarkan Zimet (1988) (12 aitem; α = 0,894), dan skala resiliensi berdasarkan Connor & Davidson (2003) (24 aitem; α = 0,922). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji parametrik dengan bantuan SPSS 25 for Windows. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa optimisme dan dukungan sosial secara simultan berpengaruh sangat signifikan terhadap resiliensi (R = 0,801; R² = 0,642; F = 143,156; p < 0,001), yang mengindikasikan kontribusi keduanya sebesar 64,2% terhadap variasi resiliensi. Secara parsial, optimisme menjadi prediktor positif yang sangat signifikan terhadap resiliensi (B = 1,425; t = 10,455; p < 0,001) dan dukungan sosial juga menjadi prediktor positif yang sangat signifikan (B = 0,441; t = 4,779; p < 0,001). Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan optimisme dan dukungan sosial untuk meningkatkan resiliensi pekerja coffee shop Generasi Z di Surabaya.

Abstract

Abstract The era of globalization has intensified competition in the business world, leading to rapid and unpredictable changes in the business and organizational environment. Human resources (HR) play a crucial role in every organization, both in the public and private sectors. PT Bina Area Persada is a company engaged in outsourcing or labor supply services, located in Surabaya, East Java. This study aims to examine the relationship between organizational commitment and employee performance at PT Bina Area Persada. The research population consists of all structural employees of PT Bina Area Persada, with a total sample of 133 employees selected using a saturated sampling technique. Research data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires and performance assessments conducted by the company’s Human Resources Department. To measure the strength of the relationship between variables, the coefficient of determination was employed. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS version 27. The results of the analysis indicate that there is no relationship between organizational commitment and employee performance at PT Bina Area Persada. Based on these findings, the study recommends that PT Bina Area Persada enhance organizational commitment among employees so that they are reluctant to leave the organization, consider the benefits of remaining with the company, and view loyalty to the organization as an obligation. Abstrak Perkembangan era globalisasi menyebabkan tingkat persaingan dalam dunia usaha semakin tinggi, sehingga memicu perubahan lingkungan bisnis dan organisasi yang berlangsung cepat serta sulit diprediksi. Dalam kondisi tersebut, Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) memegang peranan yang sangat penting bagi organisasi, baik pada sektor publik maupun swasta. PT Bina Area Persada merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang outsourcing atau penyedia jasa tenaga kerja yang berlokasi di Surabaya, Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara komitmen organisasi dan kinerja karyawan di PT Bina Area Persada. Populasi penelitian meliputi seluruh karyawan struktural PT Bina Area Persada, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 133 karyawan yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner serta penilaian yang dilakukan oleh pihak HRD perusahaan. Untuk mengetahui tingkat hubungan antarvariabel, peneliti menggunakan uji determinasi. Proses analisis data dilakukan dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SPSS versi 27. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara komitmen organisasi dan kinerja karyawan di PT Bina Area Persada. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, peneliti merekomendasikan agar PT Bina Area Persada meningkatkan komitmen karyawan, sehingga karyawan merasa enggan untuk meninggalkan organisasi, mempertimbangkan manfaat yang diperoleh apabila tetap bekerja, serta memandang loyalitas terhadap organisasi sebagai suatu kewajiban.
