Abstract

Tim pengabdian dari Jurusan IPA Terpadu telah melaksanakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di kawasan mangrove Tambakrejo, Semarang. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menawarkan alternatif diversifikasi produk jasa wisata Edu-park Tambakrejo yang selama ini belum masif. Pengabdian yang dilakukan berupa pelatihan eco-print metode pounding dengan bahan dasar daun mangrove dan daun lainnya yang ada di sekitar Tambakrejo pada tanggal 2 Juli 2022. Proses pengabdian dilakukan dalam 3 tahap yaitu (1) persiapan, (2) pelatihan, dan (3) evaluasi. Kegiatan tersebut telah diikuti oleh warga PKK Merah delima sebanyaknya 15 orang. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah peserta mampu melakukan teknik eco-print berbahan dasar daun dan daun dari tumbuhan lain di kawasan mangrove Tambakrejo. Produk eco-print yang dihasilkan berpotensi menjadi produk diversifikasi dari jasa wisata yang sudah ada saat ini. Diperlukan pendampingan lebih lanjut untuk peningkatan kualitas produk eco-print, serta pelatihan promosi dan pemasaran produk.  The Integrated Science Department service team has conducted community service in the Tambakrejo mangrove area, Semarang. This activity aims to offer an alternative diversification of Tambakrejo Edu-park tourism products, which have not been massive so far. The service carried out is in the form of eco-print training on the pounding method with the basic ingredients of mangrove leaves and other leaves around Tambakrejo in July 2022. The service process is carried out in 3 stages, namely (1) preparation, (2) training, and (3) evaluation. Fifteen people of PKK Merah Delima attended this activity. This service activity results in participants carrying out eco-print techniques made from leaves and leaves from other plants in the Tambakrejo mangrove area. The resulting eco-print products have the potential to become diversified products from existing tourism services. Further assistance to improve the quality of eco-print products and promotion and product marketing training.

Abstract

This research investigates the development and effectiveness of a digitally delivered worksheet designed to enhance students’ creative thinking in green chemistry through the integration of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Grounded in both constructivist learning theory and the framework of sustainability education, the study utilizes digital technology to facilitate contextual learning by engaging students in a real-world project: transforming used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles. The worksheet was implemented in a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design involving 34 tenth-grade students. A two-tiered test was used to assess the impact on creative thinking, measuring four indicators: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Statistical analyses demonstrated significant improvement across all indicators, with flexibility showing the highest normalized gain (N-Gain = 0.72) and a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.24). These outcomes align with prior studies emphasizing TPACK’s capacity to foster higher-order thinking skills and ESD’s role in improving sustainability literacy. The findings underscore the promise of TPACK-ESD-integrated digital resources as effective tools for cultivating creativity and sustainability-oriented competencies in chemistry education. This study also highlights broader implications for curriculum reform, teacher professional development, and the institutional adoption of digital, sustainability-focused learning materials.

Abstract

The increasing demand for renewable energy necessitates sustainable alternatives such as biochar briquettes derived from agricultural waste. This study aims to optimize the production process and evaluate the physical, mechanical, and combustion properties of biochar briquettes made from corn residues, rice husks, and coconut shells. The methodology includes biomass carbonization, binder ratio optimization, and systematic testing of key quality parameters such as moisture content, density, ash content, and calorific value. Results indicate that an optimal biomass-to-binder ratio yields a high calorific value (7,192 kcal/kg) and low ash content (3.57%), enhancing combustion efficiency. Maintaining moisture content below 10% enhances ignition and prolongs burning time. These findings highlight biochar briquettes' role in carbon sequestration, biomass conversion, and sustainable waste management, supporting the circular economy and reducing environmental pollution. Biochar briquettes offer a clean, accessible energy solution, contributing to global energy security and climate change mitigation.
