Abstract

With the rapid development of science and technology, people need to be innovative and contemporary. New structures have been widely developed using composite materials made from natural fibers. This research aims to determine the effect of the volume fraction of epoxy matrix pandan tectorius leaf fibers with an epoxy matrix on tensile and bending strength to determine the best results of speciments. Pandan tectorius leaf fiber composites with epoxy resin matrix adopts hand-laying technology, and pandan leaf fiber composites are used for two tires. In this research, the volume ratio of pandan leaf fiber and epoxy resin matrix was found to be 40:60, 45:55, 50:50, 55:45 and 60:40. In the tensile test, the highest value in the average tensile strength of the epoxy-based pandan fiber material was 15.8 N/mm2, and the lowest value was observed when the fiber and matrix volume ratio (40:60) was changed. It occurs when the fiber and matrix volume ratio changes (50 : 50) is 12.2 N/mm2. Meanwhile, in the bending test, the highest average value of bending strength was for the variation of fiber and matrix volume fraction (60: 40), and for the lowest value for the variation of fiber and matrix volume fraction (40: 60), it was equal to 17.36 N/mm2.

Abstract

Rice straw fiber is considered as agricultural residue that has not been widely used other than as animal feed. In addition, the development of composite material technology that uses natural fibers provides interesting mechanical properties to be developed. This paper aims to investigate the effect of different concentrations of fiber usage on bending and tensile strength. The comparison of concentrations of fiber usage are 35% , 40% , 70% dan 80%. The straw fiber was decreased the moisture content using a microwave and  the treatment with NaOH for removed the hemicellulose and lignin in the fibers. The manufacture of this biocomposite uses a matrix of Urea Formaldehyde with a hand lay up technique. The results of the mechanics test(bending and tensile strengths) show that the strength value obtained on the straw fiber variation, namely the highest average value of the Tensile test is 4.82 MPa at a ratio of 40 : 60, while the lowest is 2.88 MPa at a comparison 35 : 65 and and the highest average value of the bending test is at a ratio of 80:20 (6.64 N/mm2), while the lowest is 40:60 (2.45 N/mm2).

Abstract

Pada industri pengolahan makanan seperti aneka jenis kerupuk, aneka kacang goreng dan aneka makanan yang dikemas lainnya, keawetan dan daya tahan produk makanan tersebut tentu harus sangat diperhatikan dengan baik. Salah satu penyebab aneka makanan tidak tahan lama dan cepat kadaluarsa adalah kadar minyak masih yang terkandung pada aneka makanan tersebut. Penirisan minyak yang dilakukan secara manual tentu tidak efektif untuk produksi aneka makanan dalam jumlah besar pada skala industri. Untuk itu diperlukan suatu alat atau mesin yang dapat meniriskan dan mengurangi kadar minyak yang masih terkandung pada aneka makanan tersebut. Mesin yang digunakan adalah mesin peniris kacang tanah. Kelurahan Tawangmangu, Kecamatan Tawangmangu, Jawa Tengah dikenal sebagai daerah wisata yang terletak di lereng Gunung Lawu dengan berbagai macam keindahan wisata yang disajikan. Wisatawan kerap beradatangan untuk menikamati keindahan alam tawangmangu yang juga kaya akan hasil alamnya salah satunya kacang tanah. Namun kacang tanah belum bisa dimaksimalkan oleh warga setempat sebagai makanan khas yang dijadikan oleh-oleh wisatawan, sehingga perlu adanya satu usaha untuk merekayasa pengolahan makanan berbahan kacang tanah dalam bentuk pengadaan dan pelatihan mesin peniris kacang tanah untuk Dasawisma Brayat Ageng Nyai Roso Putih di Kelurahan Tawangmangu, Jawa Tengah. Dengan adanya pengadaan dan pelatihan mesin peniris kacang tanah dapat meningkatkan taraf perokonomian warga Keluarahan Tawangmangu, Jawa Tengah.

Abstract

The development of technology in the automotive sector, especially motorcycles is increasing. This is indicated by the use of Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) technology for the inclusion of the fuel system. Therefore, motorcycle repair shops must continue to upgrade their mechanical skills and expertise to meet customer needs in vehicle servicing. Kiki Motor Workshop is a motorcycle repair shop that is engaged in the service and replacement of motorcycle spare parts on micro exhibits. Judging from the service activities in the workshop, the average category of motorcycle being serviced is conventional technology (carburetor). Efforts are needed to improve the quality of human resources so that the workshop is able to receive motorcycle service services with EFI technology. The application of injector cleaner technology is a community service program that aims to improve the quality of services at the Kiki Motor workshop. In addition to improving the quality of the workshop, this program is expected to increase the income of the workshop.

Abstract

The village of Nglurah, which is located in Karang Anyar, is a producer of ornamental plants/flowers which are traded in various areas around and outside Java. Most of the population in this city work as flower farmers. Apart from being farmers, it turns out that the residents need other forms of economic improvement. Therefore, a home industry for honey sweet potato chips was initiated to support the community's economy. To carry out the home industry, it is necessary to take economic steps to become an independent entrepreneur, which is an important field to be developed. This development is carried out to encourage the economic revival of the community in various business fields. By providing training solutions to the residents of the Nglurah hamlet in the form of life skills, in the form of training in the use of used oil stoves to support the home industry of honey sweet potato chips, which can be used as a provision for the skills of residents, especially the Mulia Sejahtera farmer group in the plantation sector to be applied in daily life. day. Abstract

One of the processes to obtain new renewable fuels is pyrolysis. This process produces alternative fuels, namely Char (charcoal), tar (bio-oil) and gas. Tar (bio-oil) can be processed into biodiesel. Pyrolysis is the process of breaking down (decomposing) biomass through a heating process with little or no oxygen. Research Pyrolysis of Rotary Kiln System with Brem, Plastic and Durian Peel Waste Biomass on Char and Tar Characteristics. This research was carried out by directly testing the pyrolysis of a rotary kiln system with brem, plastic and durian peel waste biomass. The test parameters use temperature variations of 523K, 573K, 673K, 773K, and 873K. Testing for each biomass is carried out separately, not mixed. The aim of the research is to determine the characteristics of char and tar from each biomass including calorific value, mass, volume and density. Research results the highest char calorific value is 11181.1 cal / gram with plastic waste biomass. The highest calorific value was obtained from tar from plastic waste, which was 14211.3 cal/gram. The highest density value was between 0.9-0.93 grams/ml in biomass from brem waste, plastic waste, durian skin waste.

Abstract

The problem of dwindling fossil fuels, waste in Winongo landfill, Madiun which is over capacity. An alternative energy (renewable) is needed, which can be produced from waste as an alternative fuel to replace fossil fuels, one of which is pyrolysis. Pyrolysis is the process of thermochemical decomposition of organic materials through heating without or little oxygen to produce gaseous, liquid (tar), and charcoal products. Natural zeolite is used as a catalyst in the pyrolysis process to convert short hydrocarbon chains into longer hydrocarbon chains. The pyrolysis process uses a pyrolysis device with a rotary kiln model with electric heater heating. This research process uses a total raw material weighing 500 grams including 50% LDPE plastic waste, 25% used tires, and 25% used bamboo with the variables used in this study are temperature variations of 250°C, 300°C, 400°C, 500°C, and 600°C and the addition of 2 natural zeolite catalyst baffles weighing 83.3 grams in each baffle, with a process of 3 hours. Bio-oil volume data was taken every 3 minutes, density and calorific value were studied when the pyrolysis process was complete. The test results showed the highest volume of bio-oil (tar) at 400°C was 261 ml, the lowest density at 600°C was 0.798 g/ml, and the highest calorific value at 500°C was 54,233 Cal/gr.

Abstract

Composites are formed from a combination of fiber and matrix. Fiber functions as a reinforcing material that makes up the composite. The matrix functions to bind the fibers. Composites are useful as alternative materials such as iron, steel, metal and ceramic because they have advantages including biodegradability and corrosion resistance, making composites a potential new material to be developed. This research focuses on analyzing coconut fiber composites with a polyester resin matrix with varying fiber volume fractions of 30%, 35% and 40% using the hand lay-up method to determine the mechanical properties through the ASTM D790 Bending test. The highest average bending strength value is 65.32 N/mm^2, namely at a coconut fiber volume fraction of 40%. The best results from benchmark bending testing in making Intake Manifold Cover products to minimize the use of plastic materials in vehicle components.

Abstract

Komposit terbentuk dari kombinasi antara serat dan matriks. Serat berfungsi sebagai material penguat yang menyusun komposit. Matriks berfungsi untuk mengikat serat.. Komposit berguna sebagai bahan alternatif pengganti seperti material besi, baja, logam, dan keramik karena memiliki keunggulan antara lain biodegradabble dan ketahanan terhadap korosi sehingga menjadikan komposit sebagai salah satu material baru yang potensial untuk dikembangkan. Dalam penelitian ini berfokus menganalisis komposit serat sabut kelapa matriks resin polyester dengan variasi fraksi volume serat 30%, 35% dan 40% menggunakan metode hand lay-up untuk mengetahui sifat mekanik melalui pengujian Bending ASTM D790. Nilai kekuatan Bending rata-rata terbesar adalah 65,32 yaitu pada fraksi volume serat sabut kelapa 40%. Hasil terbaik dari pengujian Bending acuan dalam pembuatan produk Cover Intake Manifold untuk meminimalisir penggunaan bahan plastik pada komponen kendaraan
