Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of personal competence, self-efficacy of teachers and teachers' organizational commitment to performance and the role of organizational commitment mediates the influence of personal competence and teachers self efficacy on performance of teachers on vocational high school teachers of Semarang’s rayon 01 on Semarang City.The population in this research is state and private vocational high school teachers of totaled 209 people. With Slovin method then the sample numbered 137 people. Then from 137 people, who returns the answer of the questionnaire amounted to 137 people.The results showed that (1) personal competence but not significant positive effect on organizational commitment, (2) self-efficacy of teachers is also positive but not significant effect on organizational commitment, (3) personal competence and a significant positive impact on teacher performance, (4) self-efficacy teacher positive and significant impact on teacher performance, (5) organizational commitment does not mediate the influence of personal competence on teachers performance, (6) organizational commitment does not mediate the influence of self - efficacy of teachers on teacher performance . Keywords : personal competence, self-efficacy of teachers, teachers' organizational commitment and performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the capital structure, liquidity, independent commissioners and assets structure on financial performance. The sample in this study is a building construction sector company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2013 - 2017 with a total of 36 samples. The type of research used is quantitative research. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with certain criteria, the data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression. The results of the t test show that the variables of capital structure and independent commissioners have a significant and significant effect on financial performance, while the liquidity variable and assets structure have no significant and no significant effect on financial performance. The test results of the coefficient of determination indicate that the independent variable can affect the dependent variable by 28.2% while 71.8% is influenced by other variables.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to investigate how well Think Pair Share technique can improve students activeness to the ten grade students of SMA Bina Mandiri Teluk Pakedai. The research conducted this project in order to solve the problems encountered in the classroom.Since it is to improve students activeness in teaching learning process. The appropriate technique that was applied in this research is a classroom action research with the cycle of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The participant of this research is the students in ten grade students of SMA Bina Mandiri Teluk Pakedai in academic 2017/2018, which consist of 15 students.After collecting the data, the writer found out that the Think Pair Share technique was useful to students activeness. Based on students abservation, the researcher discovered a good mark that was shown by students activeness from cycle to cycle was increases. The students activeness in the first cycle was moderate. The students activeness in the second cycle was good.The finding of the classroom action research were satisfying. All the indicator of success had been fulfilled. The students activeness was increased and teaching learning become better. Think Pair Share helps students to improving the activeness. Key words: Think Pair Share, Activeness

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran matematika di kelas VII SMP Negeri 4 Kota Bengkulu dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar peserta didik. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VII-1 SMP Negeri 4 Kota Bengkulu dengan jumlah siswa 33 orang. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus, dimana dalam satu siklus terdiri dari empat pertemuan dan satu pertemuan tes akhir siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, refleksi. Indikator keberhasilan dalam penelitian ini adalah 80 % dari seluruh peserta didik yang mendapat nilai ≥ 75. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik. Pada pembelajaran siklus I nilai rata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik yaitu 64.89 dengan ketuntasan belajar klasikal 54.55%. Siklus II nilai rata-rata peserta didik 78.73 dengan ketuntasan klasikal klasikal 75.76%. Nilai rata-rata dan ketuntasan klasikal siklus III adalah 85.76 dan 87.88%.Kata Kunci: Hasil Belajar, Pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing. AbstractThis research is a classroom action research. The aim of the study is improving student’s learning achievement  on mathematics subject at class VII of SMP Negeri 4 Kota Bengkulu by using Guided Inquiry learning model. The instrument of data collection is a test for student’s learning  achievement. The subjects of the study were students of class VII-1 SMP Negeri 4 Kota Bengkulu concist of 33 students. The study was conducted in three cycles, in which cycles consisted of four meetings and one final test of cycle. Each cycles consist of 4 steps, namely planning, implementation, observation, reflection. The indicator of success in this study is 80% of all students who get score of ≥75. The results showed that the application of Guided Inquiry learning model can improve student’s learning achievement on mathematics. In cycle one, the average score of the students was 64.89 with classical learning completeness was 54,55%. Cycle two  the average score of the students was 78.83 with classical learning completeness was 75.76%.  The average score of the students and classical completeness was 85.76 and 87.88%.Keywords: Learning Achievement, Guided Inquiry Learning

Abstract

Writing skill has been considered the most difficult language skill to master, and teaching the skills has also been not simple. Part of a research report on teaching writing in English at a senior high school in Surabaya, this paper is aimed to demonstrate that English teachers at the school are skillful and resourceful in teaching writing. With reference to 11 elements or strategies of writing instruction discussed in Graham and Perin (2007), five English teachers at die school were interviewed. The interview guide includes 24 questions centered on the 11 elements. Interview results show that the teachers make vise of most elements or strategies in their English classes. The teachers explained that such strategies as collaborative writing, sentence combining, prewriting, inquiry activities, and study of models are conducted frequently in the classroom. They found the strategies important and helpful for teaching writing skills in English to their students. The findings indicate that a variety of writing instruction strategies have been part of their teaching practice and that they are experienced in teaching writing skills in English to adolescent students.

Abstract

One phenomenon that has become popular in Indonesia is the entry of Korean culture. Korean culture strongly influences various aspects of daily life, one of which is musical taste, namely K-pop music, which is in great demand by young people. However, only some have the same interests, so some netizens comment negatively on K-Pop on Instagram. This study aims to determine the types of impoliteness strategies and functions of impoliteness used by netizens in commenting on K-Pop on Instagram. This study used a descriptive-qualitative method. The writer has collected 37 comments from March 2022 to March 2023. In analyzing the data, the writer used the theory proposed by Culpeper (1996) for the types of impoliteness strategies and Culpeper's (2011) for the functions of impoliteness. The results of the study show that netizens used four impoliteness strategies in their hate comments only: bald on-record impoliteness is 11 comments, positive impoliteness is 12 comments, negative impoliteness is 5, and sarcasm or mock politeness is nine comments. Positive impoliteness becomes the most frequent strategy; furthermore, this study found two functions of impoliteness: affective impoliteness and entertaining impoliteness. Affective impoliteness appears as the dominant function in this study. The study is expected to raise awareness about being wiser when commenting on social media without applying impoliteness strategies.

Abstract

Students freshly admitted to the English Language and Literature study program has various levels of English proficiency. To maximize their listening skills, independent learning log was administered to the students to support their learning activities outside classroom. This action research was aimed at investigating the benefits of the log for the students"™ listening skills, and for the students"™ English learning in general. Data was collected from a listening class comprising 42 students. Each student was given an independent learning log and had to complete the log outside the classroom. Classroom discussions during the log completion were carried out in several meetings throughout the semester. In addition, the independent learning reflection was conducted at the last week of the semester. The findings indicate that the benefits of using the independent learning log for students were self-paced learning, more personalized choices, and more peer collaboration. Specifically, students became more self-directed and autonomous. Furthermore, they shared learning resources, forming a class-based learning community. Collectively, all of these benefit their future learning.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan lahan rawa Kalimantan Selatan sebagai lahan perumahan sekarang banyak dilakukan, sehingga memberikan dampak pada organisme perairan seperti mikroalga. Mikroalga merupakan alga mikroskopis yang umumnya hidup di seluruh wilayah perairan baik air tawar maupun air laut. Materi Mikroalga di kelas X SMA cenderung sulit dan abstrak, sehingga diperlukan media pembelajaran berbasis lokal untuk mempermudah pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keragaman jenis mikroalga yang ada di kawasan rawa komplek persada permai baru III serta untuk mengetahui validitas dan kepraktisan isi Booklet Protista mirip tumbuhan di kawasan rawa komplek persada permai baru III. Metode Penelitian ini menggunakan dua jenis penelitian yaitu penelitian deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan keragaman mikroalga di kawasan rawa komplek persada permai baru III dan pengembangan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran Booklet. Hasil penelitian deskriptif keragaman mikroalga terdapat 8 spesies yang tergolong ke dalam 3 divisi yaitu 2 spesies Cyanophyta; Oscillatoria sp dan Mycrocystis sp, 5 spesies Chlorophyta; Scenadesmus sp, Chlorella sp, Cosmarium sp, Amkistrodesmus sp, Closterium sp, dan 1 spesies Euglenophyta yaitu Euglena sp. Hasil validitas Booklet yang dikembangkan dari hasil keragaman mikroalga memiliki skor rata-rata validitas media 86%, validitas materi 87% dan kepraktisan isi dengan skor rata-rata 87%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan validitas media, materi dan kepraktisan isi media Booklet terkategori sangat valid dan layak di gunakan.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the impact of service quality and cost on parents' decision to enroll their children in pesantren. As part of this investigation, service quality and Cost were considered independent factors, while parents' decisions were dependent variables. The participants in this study consisted of two hundred parents of students who are still attending boarding schools in the 2022/2023 academic year. Meanwhile, the sample for this study consisted of fifty people who participated in the survey. The sampling method used was a probability sampling approach, precisely a simple random sampling method. This means fifty community members were equally likely to be selected as sample members. Questionnaires and documentation were the methods used for the data collection process. The analysis methods used were. This study uses several different analytical methods, including validity tests, reliability tests, multiple linear regression tests, and hypothesis testing. From this study, it is known that Quality of Service and Cost affect the variable Parents' Decision to Choose Islamic Boarding School because the Quality of Service and Cost variables show a positive influence, with a calculated t value of 3.085> t table of 0.2732, then Ho  is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that the quality of service indicator positively affects the parents' decision (Y). Furthermore, the calculated t value equals l3.208> t table 0.2732, then Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted. This means the cost indicator positively influences parents' decisions (Y).

Abstract

Kegiatan Metro Clean Up merupakan kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Tadris Biologi IAIN Metro untuk memperingati Hari Bersih-bersih Sedunia. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan di Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Way Batanghari Kota Metro. DAS merupakan suatu megasistem kompleks yang meliputi sistem fisik, sistem biologis, dan sistem manusia yang saling berinteraksi dan berhubungan membentuk satu kesatuan ekosistem. DAS diklasifikasikan menjadi daerah hulu dan hilir. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membersihkan bantaran sungai dari sampah plastik dan mengembalikan fungsi sungai sebagaimana mestinya, karena sungai sebagai sumber air dan irigasi masyarakat yang tinggal disekitar sungai. Dengan upaya untuk mengedukasi masyarakat mengenai pelestarian lingkungan dan meningkatkan antusiasme akan kesadaran lingkungan.
