Abstract

Morbidity and mortality of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) tends to increase in the last few decades in Indonesia, including at the global level. Posbindu as a Community-Based Health Effort (UKBM) which is held in accordance with the abilities and needs of the community. This Community Service aims to empower cadres in early detection of PTM risk factors which is carried out through several activities including the establishment of PTM Posbindu, training of cadres on PTM Posbindu, and continued monitoring of PTM risk factors. The results of community service obtained data that there were differences in the level of knowledge of cadres about PTM Posbindu before and after being given additional material. There was 1 cadre (6.25%) with a decreased score after the intervention, 13 cadres (81.25%) experienced an increase in post-test scores, and 2 cadres (12.5%) with a fixed score. The intervention given to the cadres was in the form of knowledge about the PTM Posbindu which consisted of the role of cadres in the implementation of the PTM Posbindu, the concept of the PTM Posbindu which included definitions, types of non-communicable diseases, targets, objectives, risk factors for PTM, and the implementation of Posbindu activities by cadres. The conclusion of this community service is the formation of PTM Posbindu in Plosobuden Village, Deket District. Besides. there was an increase in the knowledge and skills of cadres to carry out early detection of PTM risk factors such as measuring blood pressure, weighing weight, measuring height, calculating body mass index, conducting random blood sugar checks, measuring abdominal circumference and cadres were able to fill KMS FR-PTM , conduct counseling and referrals to first-level health facilities, as well as record and report the results of PTM Posbindu activities

Abstract

Background: Smoking is well known risk factors that promote periodontal tissue destruction. Both smoking and periodontitis nowadays consider as a common health problem globally. As smoking habit evolution, electronic cigarettes (E-cigs) have emerged as an alternative to cigarettes. The number of E-cigs smoker or vaping users around the world are increasing. However, information about the effect of E-cigs on periodontium is very lacking lately. The study aimed to compare the effect of cigarette consumption on periodontium by clinical health parameters between all smokers’ type.Method: This review follows the PRISMA guidelines. Document search was carried out in PubMed, Ebsco Host and Scopus using the keywords or phrases: (periodontal health) AND (((((electronic cigarette) OR Vaping) OR e-cig) OR electronic nicotine delivery system) OR nicotine delivery system). A total of 137 articles were obtained after the duplicates were eliminated and five articles were considered met the eligibility criteria for systematic review. Result: This review found that E-cigs are less harmful compared to tobacco cigarettes, with comparable result between E-cigs smoker and non-smoker on some clinical periodontal health parameters for mean probing depth, clinical attachment loss, score of plaque index (PI) and papillary bleeding index (PBI) as well. In contrast, the study reveals that bleeding on probing level was higher among non-smokers than smokers. Conclusion: E-cigs are less harmful compared to tobacco cigarettes on some clinical periodontal health parameters. This result should be interpreted with caution because there is currently insufficient data to investigate the effect of E-cigs on periodontal health through clinical parameters.

Abstract

Abstract

Reducing the stunting rate has been declared a national priority program. The government continues to move to organize the tools for accelerating stunting prevention and formulating the 2018-2024 National Strategy for the Acceleration of Stunting Prevention. Community nutrition counseling is one of the strategic steps that can be taken to improve health status and optimize the role of Posyandu as a health service facility for the community at the grassroots level. Participants in this activity were community health cadres, community leaders and communities with children under five who have stunting risk factors in Bulurejo Village, Diwek District, Jombang Regency. The implementation method includes the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results of community service activities were that more than half of the respondents (53%) were aged 20-25 years, all respondents were female, the education level of most of the respondents (83%) was high school/equivalent and most (75%) of the respondents had jobs as Housewife. Referring to the requirements for cadres, the ability to read and write is one of the requirements to become a cadre so that the elementary education level meets the cadre requirements. In addition, the type of work most cadres are housewives (87.5%). Knowledge about stunting and nutrition huts before being given training more than half had poor knowledge (56%), knowledge about stunting and nutrition huts after being given training most had good knowledge (63%). This community service program has initiated the formation of a nutrition hut at the toddler posyandu in Bulurejo Village, Diwek District. In addition, there has been an increase in the knowledge and skills of cadres to carry out early detection of stunting using a Z score.

Abstract

Climate change, driven by greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, necessitates transformative shifts in the global energy sector. This is particularly critical for Indonesia, which continues to rely heavily on fossil fuels. In this context, Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plants have emerged as a potential transitional technology, offering higher efficiency and lower operational emissions than coal-fired power plants. This study employs a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) framework to analyze the carbon footprint of a CCGT power plant in Indonesia, providing a comprehensive evaluation of its environmental impacts across all stages—from fuel extraction to plant operation and electricity distribution. The findings reveal that the natural gas combustion process and upstream gas production are the primary contributors to the total emissions, accounting for approximately 0.473 kg CO₂-eq/kWh and 0.26 kg CO₂-eq/kWh, respectively. Despite these emissions, the CCGT plant demonstrates a significantly lower carbon footprint compared to coal-fired power generation. The study also identifies key strategies for mitigating emissions, including enhancing methane leak detection technologies, optimizing natural gas transportation, and integrating Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). Based on these findings, we provide technical and policy recommendations to support a sustainable energy transition in Indonesia.
