Abstract

Dry eye disease is a disease with a fairly high prevalence worldwide. Old age and women are dominant risk factors for this disease. Other risk factors are systemic diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus and Hypercholesterolemia. External factors can also trigger the onset of this disease, such as ultraviolet rays, low humidity, wind, dust, and pollution, such as cigarette smoke, vehicle exhaust, or pollution from industry. In addition, excessive use of electronic devices such as mobile phones, computers, and laptops can cause the eyes to become tired quickly. Indonesia, which is a country with a lot of sunlight, pollution in big cities, and smoking habits, as well as the high number of DM and cholesterol patients, causes the prevalence of Dry Eye Disease in Indonesia to be quite high. The Community Service Program carried out by the Faculty of Medicine, Trisakti University, with the theme "Education, Eye Examination, Blood Sugar, Cholesterol and Uric Acid in the Sukmajaya District Community, Depok, West Java" was held in March 2023. Residents invited to this activity were those aged 50 years and over, with 50 participants with a female to male ratio of 58% to 42%. Residents who experienced dry eyes were 14%, those with high blood sugar were 20%, those with high cholesterol were 46%, and those with high uric acid were 54%.

Abstract

Nutritional problems do not only occur in children, but can also occur in adults. Malnutrition at productive age will have an impact on decreasing work productivity. Gastritis often arises due to lifestyle influences, including poor diet. The job of being an online motorcycle taxi driver allows unhealthy eating patterns to occur due to uncertain income and time to get passengers. This diet increases the risk for gastritis. So far no studies or counseling activities have been found, especially regarding knowledge about healthy eating patterns to prevent gastritis in online motorcycle taxi drivers, so we think it is necessary to hold health service activities in the form of education about the importance of a healthy diet. The activity was held on Saturday, November 12 2022 at the Trisakti University Faculty of Medicine attended by 30 online motorcycle taxi drivers in the West Jakarta area. This activity resulted in an increase in participants' knowledge about the importance of a healthy diet to prevent gastritis as evidenced by an increase in post-test scores after attending counseling. the conclusion of the activity is that the activity is running well supported by all related parties starting from the institutions, the implementing team and partners who are actively participating. Our advice is to periodically evaluate dietary changes after receiving counseling.

Abstract

SMPIT Almadinah is a private educational institution with 426 students, located on Jl. Sukahati No.36, Karadenan, Cibinong, Bogor, West Java 16913. In August 2021 the SMPIT Almadinah school in collaboration with the government held a Covid-19 vaccination for teachers and students in preparation for the start of offline learning. Some students missed the event due to a concern of benefits and safety of the Covid-19 vaccine. The purpose of this activity was to increase the understanding of SMPIT Almadinah Cibinong students about the importance of the Covid-19 vaccine and the safety of the Covid-19 vaccine. Counseling of the knowledge about SarsCov2 virus, the Covid-19 vaccine, and the human immune response was expected to increase the knowledge of SMPIT Almadinah students. When knowledge about the importance of the Covid-19 vaccine is better, it is hoped that it will be easier to accept recommendations to be willing to accept the Covid-19 vaccine. The indicator of the increase in knowledge about the SarsCov2 virus and the Covid-19 vaccine can be assessed by providing questionnaires at pre-counseling and post-counseling. The implementation of this outreach activity conducted online. This activity was preceded by a field survey and interviews with the school regarding the needs that could be facilitated by this activity. In conclusion, this activity was appreciated by students of SMPIT Almadinal school and future activities related to this topic should be conducted continously.

Abstract

Choking is a condition where there is a foreign object block somewhere between upper respiratory tract and trachea. The blockage can be total or partial. Blockage in the respiratory tract will result in a decrease in oxygen entering the lungs. This will disrupt cellular oxygenation levels, leading to death. This Community Service activity is aimed at providing additional knowledge about the emergency of choking and its treatment. It is hoped that the community can treat choking incidents as quickly as possible or refer to health centers immediately to reduce morbidity and mortality rates. The activity took place at Trisakti Nagrak campus, Ciangsana village, Gunung Putri sub-district, Bogor, on December 3, 2023. This session was conducted through presentation, watching video, simulation and hands on mannequins,  and ended with a question and answer session. Participants were given pre-test  questions before session to assess the basic  knowledge among participants.

Abstract

The coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) has become a challenge for the media world. Even though they have been declared cured, some Covid-19 survivors still have health complaints. Abnormal symptoms, signs, or clinical parameters that persist two weeks or more after the onset of COVID-19 and do not return to their initial healthy state are potentially considered long-term effects of the disease. Although such changes are primarily reported in people with severe and critical illness, lasting effects also occur in individuals with mild infections that do not require hospitalization. This study aims to explore the role of antioxidants on the pathogenesis of Covid19 and its relationship with SOD1, 2 and 3 genomic variations. Getting alternative biomarkers for long covid19 detection. Research Method: The research sample is blood and questionnaires that will be taken from respondents affected by Covid19 a maximum of 6 months before data collection is held. Furthermore, DNA isolation, DNA amplification, cutting with restriction enzymes, and DNA band documentation with gel electrophoresis will be carried out. Symptoms related to systemic are the most common symptoms found in respondents with Long Covid19. A total of 8 respondents had systemic related symptoms, namely weakness, lethargy and sweating, while skin-related complaints were found in three respondents and one respondent had lung-related complaints. The average SOD activity value of respondents was 2.19 U/ml. In this study, more symptoms of long COVID-19 were found associated with systemic and cardiovascular symptoms. The complaints were not differentiated by the sex of the respondents. The output draft will be processed immediately after getting other results.
