Abstract

OPTIMIZATION OF TNF – α AND IL-3 USES TOMATOES (Lycopercicum esculentumMill var. grandifolium) AS EFFORTS IN INCREASING MACROPHAGE PHAGOCYTOSIS TO BACTERIAL INFECTION ABSTRACT TNF –α and IL-3 are sitokin stimulates macrophage phagocytosis to the activity in eliminating bacteria. Karotenoid is come from natural resources, one of them is tomatoes, as known carotene and likopen  have potential in increasing TNF –α and IL-3. Mencit balb/c in normal condition are 24 tails randomly uses thermal variations: (500C, 1000C dan 1500C)  role to sitokin TNF –α and IL-3 content.  The result shows tomatoes preparasi in 1500C is (p<0.05) effects sitokin content of TNF –α and IL-3 highest. Key words: TNF –α, IL-3, tomatoes   ABSTRAK TNF –α dan IL-3 merupakan  sitokin yang berperan untuk merangsang fagositosis makrofag dalam mengeliminasi bakteri. Karotenoid yang berasal dari sumber alami , salah satunya dalam buah tomat  . Diketahui karoten dan likopen yang berpotensi meningkatkan TNF –α dan IL-3. Mencit balb/c keadaan normal sebanyak 24 ekor dipilih secara random digunakan untuk menyelidiki pengaruh preparasi buah tomat (Lycopercicum esculentumMill var. grandifolium) yang matang dengan variasi suhu : (500C, 1000C dan 1500C) terhadap kadar sitokin TNF –α dan IL-3 dari kultur sel makrofag. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan preparasi buah tomat dengan suhu 1500C  secara bermakna (p<0.05) menyebabkan kadar sitokin TNF –α dan IL-3 yang paling tinggi . Key words: TNF –α, IL-3, buah tomat

Abstract

Annona muricata Linn. (soursop) is one of  tropical plants which have relatively complete chemical compounds. It has flavonoid, tannin, phytosterol, alkaloid, etc. The high antioxidant compound in soursop is believed as cancer prevention so the cancer threat in the world can be minimized. The antioxidant compound in soursop can be found not only in its fruit, but also in other parts like leaves, seeds, etc. Based on that potency, this study aimed to compare antioxidant capacity of soursop leaves and seeds, also to study about the utilization of soursop parts which is usually not used. This research began with maceration to extract leaves and seeds with 96% ethanol. Ethanolic extract of soursop leaves and seeds were then tested for antioxidant capacity with DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) method. The result showed that antioxidant capacity of soursop leaves and seeds are 85,66875% and 39,0166, respectively. The antioxidant capacity of leaves is higher than seeds due to seed’s extraction difficulty so its antioxidant compound could not be extracted optimally. However, either leaves or seeds extract in this study are potential as antioxidant resources because there are no significant differences between antioxidant capacity of both extract.

Abstract

Various kinds of agricultural products are needed to support organic farms to produce superior quality products, one of it was natural herbicides. Some plants have the potential to become natural herbicides by producing chemical compounds, namely allelopathy which can inhibit the growth of surrounding plants and Murraya keonigii is one of it. This study aims to see the potential of M. keonigii to become a natural herbicide. Grass seeds were given M keonigii’s extract at a dose of 0 gr / l (control / M0), 50 gr / lt (M1), 60 gr / lt (M2), and 70 gr / lt (M3). The results showed that the aromatic or allelopathic compounds in M ​​keonigii affected the germination. Germination was slower at doses of 60 gr / l (M2) and 70 gr / lt (M3) compared to controls (M0) and 50 gr / lt (M1). Radicle length did not increase rapidly in M2 and M3 treatment. Germination power of grass seeds in control and M0 had a value of 100% or all germinated, while M1 and M2 had 67% germination. The higher the dose of M keonigii extract, the slower the process of grass seed germination.

Abstract

The quality improvement of the university becomes one of the considerations in choosing the study program. Therefore, higher education branding is essential to maintain its existence in society.   As a part of the Teacher Preparation Program in Central Java, FPMIPATI UPGRIS needs a branding effort to increase its existence in the community so that it can increase the interest of prospective new students to choose it as a destination for undergraduate education. This study aims to determine public perceptions about the profile of FPMIPATI UPGRIS. The method used in this study is a cross-sectional quantitative survey method. The results showed that the profile of each Study Program at FPMIPATI consists of (1) excellent curriculum and competencies, (2) partnerships that exist in the study program, (3) Facilities, (4) programs to facilitate students to obtain funding other than scholarships, (4) profiles of graduates from each Study Program, able to be an attraction for the public, especially prospective new students.

Abstract

Anggrek bulan yang secara ilmiah dikenal dengan nama Phalaenopsis amabilis L. merupakan tanaman hias yang banyak digemari di Indonesia. Saat melakukan budidaya anggrek, penting untuk mempertimbangkan beberapa biaya, termasuk harga bahan tanam. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai kelayakan komersial Anggrek Bulan (Phalaenopsis amabilis L.) dengan menyelidiki dampak dari substrat tanam yang berbeda. Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan properti yang dimiliki oleh CV. Anggrek Candi di Kota Semarang, dan dilakukan pada bulan Mei dan Juli tahun 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) untuk mengetahui pengaruh tiga perlakuan media tanam yang berbeda: akar kadaka (M1), arang (M2), dan sphagnum moss (M3). Setiap terapi diulang sebanyak enam kali. Kriteria penelitian ini meliputi kuantifikasi jumlah akar, panjang akar, jumlah daun, panjang daun, dan rentang daun. Data penelitian dilakukan analisis varians (ANOVA), dengan tingkat signifikansi 5%. Sebuah studi keuangan dilakukan untuk memastikan biaya yang terkait dengan produksi anggrek. Data ini menunjukkan bahwa setiap perlakuan media memiliki pengaruh yang sama terhadap semua parameter yang diteliti. Sphagnum moss dianggap sebagai media tanam yang optimal untuk mendorong perkembangan vegetatif pada bibit Phalaenopsis amabilis L.. Apabila angka R/C Ratio bernilai 1 maka menunjukkan bahwa perusahaan budidaya anggrek telah mencapai titik impas. Hal ini menandakan bahwa petani budidaya anggrek tidak memperoleh keuntungan dan tidak pula mengalami kerugian.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of different concentrations of added activated carbon and determine the optimal concentration in the in vitro culture growing medium for Dendrobium welirang orchids to increase plant growth. The type of research used is true experimentation. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), and the sample used in this research was the orchid species Dendrobium welirang. The instrument used is in the form of a table. The type of data used is quantitative data. The data were analyzed statistically using the ANOVA test. Data collection was carried out in the third month after planting. The data taken includes leaf length, number of leaves, root length, and number of roots. The results of the research showed that adding variations in activated carbon concentration to the in vitro culture medium affected the parameters of root number, root length, leaf length, and number of leaves of the Dendrobium welirang orchid. In conclusion, the addition of activated carbon has a real influence on the growth of Dendrobium welirang orchids. Keywords: Dendrobium welirang, Activated Carbon, In vitro Culture.
