Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation and the obstacles in implementing the mosque library management guidelines based on the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Community Guidance Number 543 of 2019 at the Al Markaz Al Islami Makassar mosque library. This research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. Data processing and analysis techniques were carried out through three stages: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Director General of Islamic Community Guidance Decree Number 543 of 2019 regarding guidelines for managing mosque libraries in the Al Markaz Al Islami Makassar mosque library has mainly been implemented. It's just that there are still guidelines that cannot be implemented, namely the guidelines for library financing, collaboration and promotion. The obstacles to implementing the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Community Guidance Number 543 of 2019 in the management of the Al Markaz Al Islami Makassar mosque library were the lack of human resources, library promotion has not been maximized, lack of budget support from the Foundation, and technological facilities are often disrupted

Abstract

Abstract This study exmines the role of librarians in developing information literacy in the library of the Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. The background in this research is based on the current situation where university libraries rarely teach informtion literacy to users. As for the main problem in this research is “the role of librarians in developing information literacy in the library of the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar”. From the subject matter above the researcher divided into 2 problems, namely: first how the role of librarians in developing information literacy in the library of the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar. And the second is the development of the information literacy in the library of the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study and a systematic managerial approach, where data is collected by using observation, interviews and documentation as well as using data management and analysis techniques which are carried out through four stage, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and taking conclusions. The role of librarians in developing information literacy is quite good, seeing librarians have carried out their functions as educators in educating librarians in literacy and managing information needed by the librarians. As an adminisrator, providing good services, in this case the provision of digital services, journals and a convenient place for the running of information literacy programs. As a supervisor, supervises and provides guidance to user. Whereas in the development of information literacy, each skill has gone well looking at the contribution of librarians in educating and applying skills in information literacy, starting from identifying information needs, tracking management tools, publicizing and using technology. As an implication, it is expected that a new breakthrough in the development of informtion literacy is needed to make this information literacy as a basic course, librarians must also be more creative in educating librarians and librarian also need to improve their competence. Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang Presepsi Pemustaka Tentang Kualitas Pelayanan Referensi di Perpustakaan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum Pengayoman Watampone. Adapun rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana kualitas pelayanan refrerensi di Perpustakaan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum Pengayoman Watampone. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas pelayanan referensi di Perpustakaan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum Pengayoman Watampone. Jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah metode kuantitatif, populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa yang ada di Perpustakaan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum Pengayoman Watampone dan menggunakan pelayanan refrensi dengan teknik accidental sampling dan selama penelitian berlangsung selama 1 bulan ada 67 responden. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang dibagikan langsung kepada pemustaka atau responden. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa kualitas pelayanan referensi di di Perpustakaan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum Pengayoman Watampone bahwa kualitas pelayanan referensi di Perpustakaan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum Pengayoman Watampone sudah berkulitas dimana nilai kualitas pelayanan referensi (X) sebesar 4824 atau 80%termasuk dalam kategori berkualitas dengan rentang skor (4020-5025).

Abstract

Librarians are required to be critical in having information literacy skills on how to empower the information they have. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to explain and discuss how the challenges of librarians in improving information literacy and information tracing skills of the millennial generation in the University Library Main Potential in meeting their information needs information literacy as a process of acquiring knowledge. The qualitative approach in this case is actually a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words of people and observable behavior. Information literacy skills of Librarians in University Libraries The main potential in the implementation of excellent services in libraries is interpreted as a form of cognitive skills that are reflected in the ability to identify, Understand and interpret the information obtained to be transformed into users, as well as productive activities that are able to provide social, economic and welfare benefits for users.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing library management using Senayan Library Management (SLIMS) at the University of East Indonesia Library, with a focus on the application of information technology to improve service efficiency and library information access. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach, exploring experiences and phenomena related to service mechanisms and information processing in the library. Data was collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews with library heads, librarians and users. Data analysis involves collecting, reducing, assessing, and critically interpreting data to reach conclusions. The implementation of SLIMS in libraries has had a positive impact, increasing operational efficiency with easy access via online OPAC, bibliographic management and fast E-Library membership. Despite progress, integration of SLIMS with other technologies such as online access to e-journal and e-book collections is still in the preparation stage. Constraining factors involve data availability, metadata standards, security and access, changes in digital resources, identity management, resource availability, and alignment with user needs which are still being adapted.

Abstract

Pengelolaan perpustakaan ini merupakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan agar pengelolaan administrasi perpustakaan berbasis teknologi menjadi lebih efektif dan efisien sesuai dengan standar operasional perpustakaan sekaligus meningkatkan kompetensi dan efektivitas pengelola perpustakaan di SMA Negeri 12 Kabupaten Sinjai. perpustakaan sekolah yang berisi berbagai koleksi buku pelajaran dan bahan pendukung lainnya. Perpustakaan masih menggunakan sistem pencatatan manual dalam pengelolaan perpustakaan, meliputi pengelolaan buku, pendaftaran anggota, transaksi peminjaman dan pengembalian koleksi. Sistem otomasi perpustakaan berbasis Senayan Library Management System (SLIMS) merupakan aplikasi open source yang belum banyak dimanfaatkan oleh perpustakaan sekolah pada umumnya, salah satunya SMA Negeri 12 Kabupaten Sinjai yang belum mengetahui pemanfaatannya. aplikasi Slims, hal ini tentunya disebabkan oleh terbatasnya informasi yang diperoleh pihak sekolah mengenai pengelolaan perpustakaan yang ideal dengan pemanfaatan teknologi. Kegiatan pendampingan pengelolaan administrasi perpustakaan berbasis SLIMS dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 12 Kabupaten Sinjai dimana kegiatan ini melibatkan tim pengabdian masyarakat yang terdiri dari empat orang dosen dan sebelas siswa sebagai narasumber dan asisten, serta dua orang pustakawan dari sekolah sebagai pengelola perpustakaan.

Abstract

This study explores the disaster preparedness strategies of the Library of State Senior High School 5 (SMA Negeri 5) in Sinjai Regency against flood risks. The research aims to identify the strategies implemented and the challenges encountered in mitigating flood disaster impacts in the library. This qualitative descriptive research employed a case study approach, collecting data through participatory observations, semi-structured interviews with school staff, and document analysis. The results indicate that the library has implemented several strategies, including infrastructure improvement, collection digitization, disaster training, early warning system adoption, and stakeholder coordination. However, these efforts face several obstacles, such as limited budgets, inadequate digitization facilities, irregular training sessions, reliance on external early warning systems, and lack of sustainable external coordination. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of disaster risk management practices in school libraries, particularly in flood-prone areas. Abstrak Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi strategi kesiapsiagaan Perpustakaan SMA Negeri 5 Kabupaten Sinjai dalam menghadapi risiko bencana banjir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi strategi yang diterapkan serta kendala yang dihadapi dalam upaya mitigasi dampak banjir di lingkungan perpustakaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan staf sekolah, serta analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan telah menerapkan beberapa strategi, seperti peningkatan infrastruktur, digitalisasi koleksi, pelatihan kebencanaan, penerapan sistem peringatan dini, dan koordinasi dengan pemangku kepentingan terkait. Namun, strategi tersebut masih menghadapi beberapa kendala, di antaranya keterbatasan anggaran, fasilitas digitalisasi yang belum memadai, pelatihan yang tidak rutin, ketergantungan pada informasi eksternal untuk peringatan dini, serta kurangnya koordinasi berkelanjutan dengan pihak luar. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan praktik manajemen risiko bencana di perpustakaan sekolah, khususnya di wilayah rawan banjir.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine how the existence of reading shops is one of the innovations in the reading community, as well as the perceived benefits of reading shops. The research method employed in this study is descriptive research with qualitative methods. The procedure of gathering data through a series of activities ranging from observations or surveys to the conduct of interviews. The findings indicate that Kedai Baca Sipakainga still exists among the community, with the aim of visiting the reading shop, as well as a place to gather and enjoy coffee, read accessible reading books, or look for reference materials. The benefits that visitors and owners can derive include increased interest in the visit, which benefits the manager including additional income, while the visitors perceive an escalating intention of reading due to the presence of books in the reading stalls. Abstrak Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana eksistensi kedai baca sebagai salah satu inovasi minat baca di kalangan masyarakat dan juga untuk mengetahui manfaat kedai baca yang dirasakan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitin ini adalah penelitian deskriptif menggunakan metode kualitatif. Metode pengmpulan data dengan melakukan serangkaian kegiatan mulai dari observasi atau pengamatan, sampai kepada pelaksanaan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kedai baca sipakainga masih tetap eksis di kalangan masyarakat dengan tujuan berkunjung ke kedai baca yakni sebagai tempat berkumpul atau nongkrong, menikmati hidangan kopi, membaca buku bacaan yang tersedia dan mencari buku referensi tugas. Manfaat yang dapat diperoleh pengunjung dan pemilik yakni meningkatkan minat kunjung yang tentu memberikan manfaat kepada pengelola terutama pemasukan atau bertambahnya pendapatan sedangkan manfaat yang dirasakan pengunjung yakni dapat meningkatkan minat baca dengan kehadiran buku-buku di kedai baca sipakainga.
