Abstract

Berangkat dari prinsip irreversible dalam komunikasi dan penggunaan media sosial di kalangan anak muda yang meningkat signifikan dalam beberapa tahun belakangan ini, diperlukan pemahaman yang komprehensif tentang literasi media. Tujuannya agar siswa di sekolah dapat menggunakan media sosial secara bijak dan tidak terjebak dalam penyalahgunaan media sosial. Dengan menggunakan metode ceramah dan pemutaran video selama dua hari, program pengabdian ini berupaya menjelaskan tentang bagaimana konsep-konsep media sosial, bagaimana dampak negatif media sosial, sejauh mana media sosial memberikan peluang positif bagi anak muda untuk berkreativitas di dalamnya, dan bagaimana menggunakan media sosial yang bijak. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa sangat antusias memahami tentang literasi media sosial dan bagaimana memanfaatkan media sosial untuk hal-hal positif. Terakhir, berdasarkan hasil pengabdian di atas, penulis merekomendasikan bahwa perlunya kerjasama dari berbagai pihak, baik guru, akademisi, orang tua, masyarakat, dan siswa, untuk memberikan literasi media kepada siswa dan menciptakan kegiatan-kegiatan kreatif dan positif di media sosial.

Abstract

Komunikasi politik Sultan Muhammad Al-Fatih menjadi sorotan publik, saat ia mampu membuat sebuah sejarah Islam yang dikenal dunia dengan keberhasilannya menakhlukkan kota Konstantinopel. Dari sosoknya yang cerdas, keras, berkomitmen dan berani justru menjadi modal untuk membuktikan bisyarah Rasulullah SAW tersebut. Namun, tentu tidak cukup dengan itu saja, Sultan harus mampu meraih hati dan menggerakkan kaum Muslim untuk bersama-sama memerangi dan menakhlukkan kota Konstantinopel. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian sejarah yang menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pendekatan library research dan historis. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dimasa kepemimpinannya Sultan Muhammad Al-Fatih menerapkan kebijakan-kebijakan berlandaskan pada syari’at Islam, diantaranya melakukan pembaharuan terhadap sistem kepemerintahan, menegakkan kepemimpinan Islam, menjunjung tinggi keadilan dan nilai moral, serta memberi kebebasan bagi kaum Kristen dan Yahudi dalam beribadah dengan ketentuan-ketentuan tertentu. Sultan menggunakan bahasa dengan baik dan tepat dalam menyampaikan aturan-aturan yang berlaku selama masa kepemimpinannya. baik dalam bentuk informasi, edukasi maupun instruksi, sehingga dapat membentuk mental dan semangat membuktikan bisyarah Rasulullah SAW, berjihad fi sabilillah dan mendapatkan gelar ghazi.

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Aceh Barat sebagai salah satu daerah rawan bencana alam di Indonesia memerlukan langkah-langkah konkrit sebagai upaya mitigasi bencana. Salah satu langkah penting yang harus dilakukan adalah memberikan pengetahuan tentang literasi komunikasi bencana di kalangan siswa. Studi-studi sebelumnya telah  mengkaji tentang model komunikasi bencana berdasarkan beberapa pengalaman daerah-daerah yang mengalami bencana alam dan non-alam. Namun, belum banyak studi yang mengkaji literasi komunikasi bencana melalui permainan tradisional seperti teka-teki silang (TTS). Oleh karena itu, artikel ini berupaya mengisi kekosongan studi tersebut dengan mengambil studi kasus pada Madrasah Tsnawiyah Negeri (MTsN) 3 Aceh Barat. Data-data artikel ini diperoleh melalui aktivitas penyuluhan dan pendampingan dalam bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bersifat insidentil. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa literasi komunikasi bencana perlu didiseminasikan dalam bentuk permainan teka-teki silang. Para siswa yang mengikuti penyuluhan ini lebih aktif menggunakan kemampuan berpikir mereka untuk memahami istilah-istilah dalam kebencanaan. Di samping keaktifan mereka dalam mengisi permainan teka-teki silang tersebut, pada saat yang sama mereka berlatih untuk bekerjasama menyelesaikan permainan tersebut bersama teman-teman mereka. Hal ini merepresentasikan bahwa resiko bencana dapat diminimalisir melalui kerjasama aktif di kalangan masyarakat. Kata Kunci: literasi, komunikasi bencana, permainan tradisional [English]: West Aceh as one of the natural disaster-prone areas in Indonesia requires concrete steps for disaster mitigation. One important step that must be taken is to provide knowledge about disaster communication literacy among students. Previous studies have examined disaster communication models based on some experiences of areas that experienced natural and non-natural disasters. However, few studies have examined disaster communication literacy through traditional games such as crossword puzzles (TTS). Therefore, this article attempts to fill this gap by taking a case study of Madrasah Tsnawiyah Negeri (MTsN) 3 Aceh Barat. The data for this article were obtained through counseling and mentoring activities in the form of incidental community service. The results of this community service show that disaster communication literacy needs to be disseminated in the form of a crossword puzzle game. The students who participated in this counseling were more active in using their thinking skills to understand the terms of disaster. In addition to their activeness in filling out the crossword puzzle game, they practiced working together with their friends to complete the game. This represents that disaster risk can be minimized through active cooperation among the community. Keywords: literacy, disaster communication, traditional games

Abstract

The quality of learning is the key to success in achieving the goals of education. To improve the quality of learning, educators need to apply interesting and effective learning media. In this case, the author conducts community service so that educators can apply local wisdom-based learning media as an integral part of the learning process. The application of local wisdom as a learning media is expected to increase the relevance of preserving local culture, inviting students to get to know the environment and engage with the community directly, and maintaining a unique local cultural heritage. This training was held at the Nurul Bilad Batuara Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPQ), South Sulawesi for three days from April 26 to 28, 2023. The method of implementing this training was carried out with lectures, questions and answers, and practice. The result of this service is the discovery of local wisdom-based learning media that can make it easier for students to understand the learning provided, recognize local culture, and be directly involved with the community. The recommended media are audio, video, and multimedia media.

Abstract

In today's digital age, information advancement has become critical for society's well-being. Misinformation, when disseminated, can have negative impacts and even turn into a disaster for the public. Therefore, it is crucial for reporters and journalists in the media to possess the intelligence to conduct research, analyze, interpret, and deconstruct from a journalistic perspective. This will enable aspiring reporters to effectively utilize media (tools) such as print, electronic, and internet to meet human needs, particularly when navigating the challenges of new media. Therefore, the goal of this training program for aspiring reporters is to equip communication science students with the skills necessary to become creative and innovative writers who can effectively convey information to the public. The benefits of this training are to produce individual reporters who are capable of providing sharp and critical arguments regarding news and able to absorb information from various public channels. A critical attitude towards issues and emerging problems is needed, handled with wisdom and prudence, not easily swayed by negative opinions. The goal is for aspiring reporters to gain a clear understanding of ideas and concepts through precise, thorough writing, and to possess a brilliant conscience towards the perspective of events. This training utilizes lecture and question-answer methods. As a result, aspiring reporters can generate and convey high-quality writing that conveys information or news about the atmosphere or conditions of events, enabling platform users (media) to understand rumors and news that reporters format and disseminate to a broader audience.

Abstract

One of the important hard skills to learn in the current Society 5.0 era is the ability to operate computer devices with software and features such as Adobe Photoshop which can facilitate photo editing. Photo editing skills are worth learning by students because they can bring benefits and value. To make it easier for students to understand the material, the team used a training method with the Think Pair Share (TPS) technique combined with pre-test and post-test instruments as a measuring tool to review and assess the development or changes in students' knowledge and understanding before and after dedication is carried out. The final results obtained from the pre-test and post-test show that after the students participated in this activity their knowledge increased regarding graphic design in general and photo editing in particular.
