Abstract

Toward Indonesia Gold 2045, national development emphasizes the importance of strengthening human resources that are excellent and globally competitive. However, material progress without spiritual balance may lead to moral crisis and value disorientation. In this context, Islamic esoteric values serve as a vital foundation for Islamic education that focuses on character formation and spirituality. This study aims to examine the urgency of esoteric values in Imam al-Ghazali’s Al-Munqidz min ad-Dhalāl and their relevance to Islamic education in preparing Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045. The research employed a qualitative approach through library research with hermeneutic-thematic analysis of classical texts and supporting literature. The findings reveal three key esoteric values emphasized by al-Ghazali: mujāhadah (spiritual perseverance), muḥāsabah (self-introspection), and uzlah (self-restraint and inner tranquility). These values are highly relevant to character education through the integration of affective, reflective, and contemplative dimensions in Islamic learning. The study concludes that strengthening al-Ghazali’s esoteric values can serve as a conceptual framework for developing a holistic Islamic education curriculum that fosters knowledgeable, ethical, and spiritually grounded generations toward Indonesia Gold 2045

Abstract

ABSTRACT The accuracy of the direction of the Qibla of mosques is still a problem in Indonesian society, including on Belitung Island. For example, research conducted by Reno Ismanto, et al., on Belitung Island in 2023 found that out of 14 mosques that were sampled in the study, 8 mosques needed to be calibrated because the direction of the Qibla was not accurate. One of the factors is the use of simple tools and the lack of human resources who master the method of measuring the direction of the Qibla. By using the PAR method, the community service entitled "Cadreship of Astronomy Experts and Assistance in Calibration of the Direction of the Qibla of Mosques on Belitung Island, Bangka Belitung Islands Province" aims to train instructors, staff of the Ministry of Religion and groups related to mosques, basic astronomy skills and the ability to measure the direction of the Qibla of mosques using the Istiwaaini tool which refers to sunlight. The community service was carried out using two methods, namely the classical and non-classical methods. The implementation of the community service was relatively effective. This shows that there is an increase in knowledge and ability to measure the direction of the Qibla using the istiwaaini method by the devotion of the subjects, as measured by the pretest and posttest values, namely with a ratio of 84.80 49.77. Keywords: Community Empowerment, Qibla Direction Measurement, Belitung Island.

Abstract

Accurate Qibla orientation is essential for the validity of Muslim prayer; inconsistencies in both traditional and modern determination methods continue to produce significant inaccuracies, particularly in archipelagic regions. This study assesses the accuracy of Qibla direction in mosques across the Bangka Belitung Islands, Indonesia, and evaluates the methods used to determine it. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining field measurements of 70 mosques using the solar shadow (istiwā’ainī) method and GPS-based applications with semi-structured interviews. Measured orientations were compared with geodetically calculated azimuths, and spatial distribution patterns were analyzed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The results show that only 30% of mosques are accurately aligned (≤2° deviation), while 54% are less accurate and 16% are significantly misaligned (>10°). GIS-based analysis reveals spatial variability in deviation patterns, indicating unequal access to technical knowledge and measurement tools. This study contributes to integrating astronomical, geodetic, and geospatial approaches for Qibla determination and highlights the need for standardized verification practices in geographically fragmented regions.

Abstract

Education has experienced a significant shift as technology has become more prevalent in our digital age. The objective of this study is to examine the impact of incorporating technology on the teaching and learning process within the contemporary educational setting. This research investigates the effects of digital technologies, such as online learning platforms and artificial intelligence, on educational experiences using a literature analysis and case study methodology. The research backdrop emphasizes the significance of adjusting to technology advancements in order to achieve the objective of a more comprehensive and flexible education. The research methodologies employed encompassed literature synthesis from many academic sources and empirical studies to substantiate the findings and analysis. The findings indicate that the incorporation of technology has increased the availability of educational resources and fostered more interactive communication between students and educators. Nevertheless, there are obstacles such as the disparity in access to digital resources among educational groups and the difficulty of integrating new technology into conventional curricula. The paper concludes by highlighting the importance of well-targeted education policies and implementation techniques in order to fully harness the potential of technology in enhancing global education standards
