Abstract

This study explores the influence of Quranic memorization on the academic achievement of twelfth-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Hidayatul Qur’an, Puding Besar. Using an associative quantitative approach with simple linear regression analysis, data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation of semester grades. The findings indicate a significant positive relationship between the intensity of Quranic memorization and students’ academic performance, with a contribution rate of 40%. Statistical analysis shows that the calculated t-value (4.758) exceeds the critical value (2.034), supporting the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. These results suggest that Quranic memorization is a key factor in enhancing academic achievement. The study offers practical recommendations for Islamic educational institutions to strengthen tahfidz programs as an integral part of the formal curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of rewards and punishments on the motivation of students in memorizing the Qur'an at TPQ Nurul Islam, Payabenua village, using a Qur'anic values approach. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that rewards, both non-material (praise, appreciation, recognition, and trust from teachers) and material (gifts, certificates, or incentives), are effective in increasing the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of students. Non-material rewards foster self-confidence, inner satisfaction, and love for the Qur'an, while material rewards serve as an initial trigger for motivation with certain limitations so as not to diminish sincerity. Meanwhile, punishment in memorizing the Qur'an is applied in an educational and constructive manner, such as verbal reprimands, repetition of memorization, additional targets, and measured restrictions on rest time. Proportional application that takes into account the psychological condition of students has been proven to increase discipline, responsibility, and awareness in maintaining memorization, while inappropriate punishment can cause fear and decrease motivation. Meanwhile, the application of rewards and punishments is based on the principles of targhib and tarhib, as well as Qur'anic values such as justice, patience, compassion, exemplary behavior, education, and sincerity. Thus, these two approaches not only function as tools for controlling behavior, but also as means of shaping the Qur'anic character and spirituality of students, thereby significantly increasing their motivation to memorize the Qur'an

Abstract

The rise of social media and digital culture has reshaped how young consumers make moral decisions, particularly in purchasing local products. The phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) has emerged as a psychological driver that fuels impulsive and symbolic consumption among Generation Z. This study aims to analyse the extent to which digital social pressure and FOMO culture influence the ethical behaviour of young consumers when buying local products in the era of algorithmic capitalism. A qualitative conceptual approach was employed through a systematic literature review of relevant studies published between 2020 and 2025. The analysis followed a deductive–thematic process to explore the relationships among intrinsic moral motivation, digital social pressure, and ethical fading in consumer behaviour. The findings reveal that while ethical awareness toward local products is increasing, social pressure and FOMO culture tend to shift consumers’ moral orientation from intrinsic values to extrinsic motivations based on trends and social validation. This phenomenon amplifies the attitude-behaviour gap and indicates a transformation of morality from personal reflection to algorithmic conformity. The study concludes that ethical consumer behaviour in the digital age must be understood as the outcome of an interaction between individual values, technological design, and social media pressure. It recommends enhancing digital moral literacy and encouraging local businesses to build authentic ethical narratives so that young consumers’ decisions remain grounded in moral awareness rather than transient digital trends.

Abstract

Zakat is a fundamental pillar of Islam that serves not only as a form of worship but also as a socio-economic instrument to reduce poverty and inequality. Despite its great potential, the collection of professional zakat in Indonesia remains suboptimal, particularly among civil servants (ASN) who have a fixed income and are directly obligated to pay zakat. This study aims to examine the influence of religiosity and knowledge on the intention of ASN at the Pangkalpinang City Ministry of Religious Affairs Office to pay professional zakat through formal institutions. Using a quantitative approach with a survey design, data were collected from 75 Muslim ASN selected through purposive sampling. A structured questionnaire was used to measure religiosity, knowledge, and intention, and the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results indicate that religiosity and knowledge have a positive and significant influence on the intention to pay professional zakat. Civil servants with stronger religious commitment tend to consistently view zakat as a spiritual and moral obligation, while those with higher zakat literacy demonstrate a greater willingness to comply with institutional payment mechanisms. These findings underscore that religiosity provides spiritual motivation, whereas knowledge serves as a cognitive driver, and both are necessary to strengthen zakat compliance. This study suggests that zakat institutions and policymakers simultaneously enhance religious awareness and zakat education, complemented by institutional policies such as automatic payroll deductions, to optimize zakat collection and maximize its social impact.

Abstract

The development of Sharia Rural Banks (Bank Perekonomian Rakyat Syariah—BPRS) plays a strategic role in promoting profit-sharing-based financing, particularly musyarakah financing. However, fluctuations in financial performance and financing quality have led to differences in the capacity of BPRS to channel such financing. This study aims to analyze the effects of Total Assets, Third Party Funds (DPK), and Non-Performing Financing (NPF) on musyarakah financing, with Return on Assets (ROA) as a mediating variable, in BPRS in Indonesia. This study employs a quantitative approach using panel data derived from BPRS financial reports published by the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan/OJK) during the 2020–2024 period. The analytical methods applied include panel data regression, path analysis, and the Sobel test to examine the mediating role of ROA. The results indicate that, partially, Total Assets have a positive and significant effect on ROA, Third Party Funds have a significant negative effect on ROA, and Non-Performing Financing has a significant effect on ROA. Simultaneously, Total Assets, Third Party Funds, and NPF significantly influence ROA, with very strong explanatory power. Furthermore, ROA is proven to have a positive and significant effect on musyarakah financing. The intervening variable analysis reveals that ROA is able to mediate the effects of Total Assets and Non-Performing Financing on musyarakah financing, but it does not mediate the effect of Third Party Funds. This study concludes that internal bank factors particularly asset size, financing quality, and profitability are the main determinants in promoting musyarakah financing in Sharia Rural Banks in Indonesia.
