Abstract

Abstrak: Undang Undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2003, disebutkan secara tegas bahwa Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) adalah suatu upaya pembinaan yang ditujukan kepada anak sejak lahir sampai dengan usia enam tahun yang dilakukan melalui pemberian rangsangan pendidikan untuk membantu pertumbuhan dan perkembangan jasmani dan rohani agar anak memiliki kesiapan dalam memasuki pendidikan lebih lanjut. Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini diselenggarakan untuk memberikan konsep yang bermakna bagi anak melalui pengalaman nyata dan bermakna, sehingga anak menunjukkan aktivitas dan rasa ingin tahu secara optimal dan menempatkan posisi pendidik sebagai pembimbing dan fasilitator bagi anak.PAUD Denda Nawangsasih yang terletak di Desa Kalijaga, Kecamatan Aikmel, Lombok Timur merupakan salah satu lembaga pendidikan informal yang ikut berupaya mensukseskan tujuan pendidikan Nasional Indonesia. Keberadaan lembaga pendidikan ini dimaksudkan untuk memberikan pelayanan yang baik kepada masyarakat setempat dalam upaya peningkatan mutu pendidikan

Abstract

This study aims at investigating motivation, attitude, needs, and evaluation of the students of IAIN Mataram in learning English as a general subject. The data were gathered from questionnaire and they were presented descriptively. The result of questionnaire showed that the students considered English very important (98%). The motivation of the students in learning English was very high (93%) and they learned English for intrinsic reasons (77%). The attitude of the students in learning English was very positive (84%). The students preferred learning English visually to learning orally (81%). The teacher taught seriously (95%), the teacher gave various tasks ((91%), and the teacher gave motivation to the students (95%). The class size supported the teaching and learning process (99%). The students competed seriously in learning English (77%). The students needed English relevant to their content subject (90%) and they needed more reading skill than the three other skills (83%).

Abstract

This study aims to describe the assessment practices carried out by English teachers of state madrasah schools in Mataram City at the stages of planning, implementation, supervision, and recording. In this descriptive study, the researcher used qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches. A total of 18 teachers from both state MTS and MA in the city of Mataram participated in the study. The data collection technique used a questionnaire in the form of a google form containing a number of statements related to the assessment practice at the four stages of the assessment with the answer format using a Likert scale with a range of answers strongly disagree, disagree, not sure, agree, and strongly agree. The data were the results of the average calculation of each item was analyzed descriptively. The results of the study showed that (1) teachers were not sure to ask for parental approval before the assessment was carried out, (2) teachers agreed that the assessment was carried out within a certain time, according to the situation and conditions and accompanied by feedback, (3) teachers felt hesitant to share the findings of the assessment with fellow teachers and the involvement of parents in the assessment process, and (4) the teacher felt aware and responsible for recording or documenting the results of the assessment that were carried out. Thus, assessment is an important part that cannot be separated from learning activities and teachers are expected to keep conducting assessments.

Abstract

Teachers are educators, mentors, coaches, and curriculum balancers who can create conditions and a conducive learning atmosphere, such as a fun, interesting learning atmosphere, giving students space to think actively and innovatively in exploring and elaborating their abilities. The teacher's role is very important in improving student learning achievement so they must be more creative in choosing teaching methods. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of teacher creativity on motivation to learn to read the Koran in students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Sumbawa. This type of research is ex post facto comparative causal research using a quantitative approach. The research instrument was a questionnaire based on the research procedures used in this study. Data analysis was carried out through research instrument tests which included validity and reliability followed by the classical assumption test. The method used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study show that teacher creativity has a direct effect on learning motivation. Because it has a probability value (0.000) <0.05, which means there is a positive and significant influence between teacher creativity on learning motivation. This means that the higher the teacher's creativity in teaching, the higher the learning motivation of students in class X Madarasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Sumbawa.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui perbedaan prestasi belajar antara siswa yang tinggal di pondok pesantren dengan siswa yang tinggal di rumah. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu desain causal comparative research. Dalam penelitian ini instrumen yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi nilai raport. Sedangkan, Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi, wawancara, dan angket/ kuisioner. Hasil analisis data menyatakan bahwa nilai rata-rata siswa yang tinggal di pondok pesantren  adalah 84,93 dan santri yang tinggal di rumah adalah 80,7. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho (hipotesis nihil) ditolak dan  hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima, di mana Ha berbunyi terdapat perbandingan prestasi belajar antara siswa yang tinggal di pondok pesantren dengan siswa yang tinggal di rumah.

Abstract

The quality of education that has not been maximized, especially in East Lombok Regency, is influenced by many things, including teacher performance. Teacher performance is influenced by internal factors (competence, motivation, morale, discipline) and external (physical environment, leadership of the madrasa principal, managerial implementation of the madrasa principal, compensation, work culture). This study aims to examine the influence of the managerial skills of madrasa heads, compensation and professional competence of teachers on teacher performance. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of comparative causal research or expost pacto. The sample of this study was 176 teachers from private Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Aikmel District, East Lombok Regency. The research instrument was a questionnaire which was given to the respondents directly after testing the validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques used simple regression tests and multiple regression tests followed by correlation tests (with the help of the SPSS version 22.0 application). The results of data analysis based on the value of the correlation coefficient and determination for each research variable on teacher performance obtained the determination coefficient of madrasa principal managerial skills of 0.324 and 10.5%, teacher compensation of 0.298 and 8.9%, and teacher professional competency variable of 0.711 and 50.5%. While the results of the coefficient of determination together obtained by 52.3%. Thus, it can be stated that: 1) The managerial skills of madrasa principals affect teacher performance; 2) teacher compensation affects teacher performance; 3) teacher professional competence influences teacher performance; and 4) the managerial skills of madrasa heads, teacher compensation and teacher professional competence jointly affect teacher performance.

Abstract

The rapid technological advance does not rule out the possibility of eliminating the national character values in the young generation because trends, cultures and information spread very quickly, both from within and outside the country. To keep the young generation from being carried away by the negative impacts of technological advance, so the education is expected to be able to build the students’ national character through relevant learning, namely Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. The objectives of this research were to determine the stages, strategies, and challenges of national character building in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at Public Junior High School (SMPN) 18 Mataram. The research type used was descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. Data analysis used the data condensation, data display, and drawing conclusion or verification. The results of the research showed that (1) the stages carried out in national character building through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at Public Junior High School (SMPN) 18 Mataram were inculcation, nurturing, developing, and stabilizing. Furthermore, (2) the strategies carried out were explanations, learning activities in the classroom, cultural development at school and learning activity centers, and extracurricular activities. (3) Meanwhile the challenges faced were the lack of facilities from school, association, social media, family environment, and community environment.

Abstract

The Bekayat tradition is one of traditions in the Sasak tribe. The Bekayat tradition is a tradition of reciting saga poem which is functioned by preachers as a medium of preaching. It was started with a negative response to the bekayat tradition conveyed by one of generations with the different understanding by saying that the bekayat tradition had existed since the arrival of the Islam propagators and they said that this tradition was a tradition belonged to the misguided heresy, so the researcher needs to examine this tradition and straightens the incorrect responses. The objectives of this research were to find out how the stages of the Bekayat tradition process in Kuripan District were, to find out the Islamic educational values contained in the Bekayat tradition and to find out how the young generation responds to the Bekayat tradition. The research method used was qualitative research method and the purpose was to obtain the data in the form of written or oral descriptions from the observation subject, while the data collection procedures used by researcher were interviews, observation, and documentation. The implementation procedures of the Bekayat tradition in Kuripan District, namely, started with preparation, the main activities or reciting the saga poem and closing are followed with the convivial event. Educational values in the bekayat tradition in Kuripan District consist of processional values, script values and traditional values. The researcher acquired responses from the young generation which were divided into two parts, there were positive and negative responses, while the positive response was because they obtained a lot of lessons, as the form of support for the Bekayat tradition, and the negative response was because they felt disturbed during the breaks with the sound of Bekayat reading, waste of time.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the availability of facilities to implement blended learning in teaching and learning foreign languages, the use of the internet and e-learning literacy among lecturers and students of foreign languages departments, and the readiness for blended learning in teaching and learning foreign languages. This study used a mixed method which combined quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. A questionnaire containing several statements was distributed to lecturers and students of the English and Arabic Departments ​​to collect necessary data. The statements break down into three categories according to the problems in this study. The first are the ones that require close answers yes or no, while the second and third are the ones that demand responses on four scales namely strongly disagree, disagree, agree, and strongly agree. Then, the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the study revealed that the lecturers and students had the needed facilities to support the implementation of blended learning, yet the internet service in terms of coverage and accessibility at the campus was not adequate. It was also known that the lecturers and the students had the knowledge and skills to operate any tools and features of the internet for blended learning. Most importantly, the lecturers and students were ready for the implementation of blended learning in the teaching and learning of English and Arabic.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to find out the phonological interference occurs and factors that cause interference in pronouncing English sound on vowel and consonant sounds by students on Senior High School in Lombok. This research used descriptive-qualitative method and applied purposive sampling techniques with inclusion criteria. The respondents consisted 10 second grade Senior High School students. The data were collected by using audio recorder and interview. The finding of this research showed the interference that occurs on students of second grade is substitution, sound addition, sound omission and sound replacement. There were 36 type of interference occurred, namely sounds replacement or substitution made by students in pronouncing English sounds consisting 31 vowels, 3 consonants, 3 sound addition and 2 sound omission. Further, the factor affect phonological interference of students was linguistic factors. It was found that majority students who answered that the difficulty in pronouncing English sounds were in pronunciation itself, while another factor were deal with sound system differences between L1 and L2, inconsistency of English vowels, mother tongue interference and influence of spelling on pronunciation.
