Abstract

Methods: The method used was pre-experimental with a one group pretest and posttest design approach, involving 40 respondents from the local community. Before the intervention, respondents showed low understanding and skills in performing chest compressions. After receiving education and training using SIKOMJARU media, respondents practiced CPR techniques better. Results: The analysis results showed a significant improvement in compression quality, with a p value <0.05, indicating the effectiveness of SIKOMJARU media in improving respondents' knowledge and skills. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that cardiopulmonary resuscitation education with SIKOMJARU media can improve the community's ability to provide first aid to cardiac arrest victims, thus expected to contribute to increasing survival rates among these communities.

Abstract

Burnout is a condition of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive work demands. Emergency Department (ED) nurses are at high risk of burnout due to heavy workloads and intense emotional pressure, which may affect their performance. This study aimed to determine the relationship between burnout and nurses’ performance in the Emergency Department of Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Hospital. This research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive analytic design and a cross-sectional method. The sample consisted of 45 ED nurses selected using a total sampling technique. The instruments used were the Malach Burnout Syndrome (MBS) questionnaire for burnout and a performance assessment questionnaire for nurses’ performance. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Chi-Square test. The findings showed that most respondents experienced mild burnout (88.9%) and had high performance (88.9%). The Chi-Square test indicated a significant relationship between burnout and nurses’ performance (p = 0.01). Conclusion: Lower levels of burnout are associated with higher performance. These results emphasize the importance of preventing burnout to maintain the quality of nursing care in the Emergency Department. Keywords: burnout, nurses’ performance, emergency department, work fatigue

Abstract

A melon is a horticultural commodity that has high economic value and much demand by the community. The introduction of modern cultivation technology, such as hydroponics, is an added value for the mahasantri (Islamic boarding school students). The mastery of hydroponic melon cultivation techniques is a provision for mahasantri to develop a community economic empowerment model in pesantren. However, hydroponic melon cultivation training has never been conducted at Ma'had Fastabhikul Khoirot. This training was conducted to increase the knowledge of mahasantri about hydroponic melon cultivation. A total of 18 participants engaged in this training, which included material presentation, pre-tests, and post-tests, as well as discussions on hydroponic melon cultivation. Evaluation results indicated a positive outcome, with nearly half of the participants asking questions. There was a knowledge improvement among participants regarding hydroponic melon cultivation, ranging from 10-25%. To further develop the student's skills in this area, practical sessions and field trips focusing on hydroponic melon cultivation should be implemented.
