Abstract

Poverty is a challenge to development in various sectors characterized by deprivation, inability, and lack. People living in poverty often experience nutritional problems, poor health, high illiteracy rates, inappropriate environments, and limited access, both in rural and urban areas, such as in small poor villages or isolated seaside communities. This research is a quantitative study, which uses a statistical approach to test hypotheses. Specifically, this study analyzes the effect of Economic Growth, Human Development Index, and unemployment rate on the poverty rate in East Nusa Tenggara. Statistical analysis was conducted using panel data regression with the help of Eviews10 software processing. The results show that: the Human Development Index (HDI) has a significant effect on poverty in East Nusa Tenggara Province, while Economic Growth and Unemployment have no significant effect on the poverty rate in East Nusa Tenggara Province.

Abstract

Poverty is a complex problem caused by many interrelated factors. So, this research will analyse the variables that influence poverty in Kondamara Village, Lewa District by analysing important problems that can influence poverty. This research aims to determine the profile and factors that influence poverty in Kondamara Village, Lewa District. The data collection technique uses primary data obtained through distributing questionnaires and direct interviews with poor and non-poor households in Kondamara Village, Lewa District. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses binary logistic regression analysis with a Likelihood Ratio approach. The research results show that the income of the head of the household and the number of family dependents have a significant influence on poverty in Kondamara Village, Lewa District.

Abstract

A country that is actively trying to improve the welfare of its population is Indonesia, which is still considered a backward country. The government has implemented various steps to achieve social welfare, although there are still several obstacles that have not been fully overcome, such as the issue of unemployment. Resolving this problem is a collective task that must be addressed effectively and continuously. This research aims to determine the influence of economic growth and regional minimum wages on the number of unemployed in East Nusa Tenggara Province. The research method uses quantitative methods with secondary data from publications from the Central Statistics Agency of East Nusa Tenggara Province. The data used is panel data, covering the 2018-2022 time series and cross-sections from 22 districts/cities. Based on the research results, economic growth has a positive and significant effect on the number of unemployed. and also, the regional minimum wage has a positive but insignificant effect on the number of unemployed.

Abstract

Economic growth is an important indicator in improving people's welfare, but several factors such as unemployment and population size can affect the economic growth process. This study aims to determine the effect of unemployment and population size on economic growth in East Nusa Tenggara Province. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study show that simultaneously, the variables of population size and unemployment have a significant effect on economic growth. Partially, the population size variable has a negative and significant effect on economic growth. While the unemployment variable has a positive and significant effect on economic growth during the period 2018-2022.

Abstract

Financial literacy and inclusion are the keys to business success, especially in managing finances well. This research aims to provide an overview of financial literacy and inclusion of local woven entrepreneurs in East Sumba Regency. The sample used was 78 respondents using a purposive sampling technique, spread across three weaving centers in East Sumba Regency, namely Mbatakapidu Village, Malumbi Village, and Kotak Kawau Village, using descriptive analysis techniques. The conclusion of this research is that the level of literacy understanding and financial inclusion of local woven entrepreneurs in East Sumba Regency is categorized as good, but the financial practices carried out by entrepreneurs tend to be carried out less well.

Abstract

Poverty is a structural problem that is still a major challenge in underdeveloped areas such as Sumba Island. The purpose of this research is to analyze how government spending in the education and health sectors affects the Human Development Index, as well as to explore its effect on poverty levels. This study uses a quantitative method with panel data covering four districts on Sumba Island during the period 2019 to 2024. The data used was obtained from the official report of the Central Statistics Agency and the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget document. The analysis in this study was carried out using panel data regression through a fixed-effect approach, which was determined based on the results of the Chow and Hausman test. The results obtained show that government spending on the education and health sectors has a positive and significant impact on the increase in the Human Development Index. In addition, the Human Development Index has a negative and significant effect on the poverty rate. These findings indicate that increased investment in basic services such as education and health is likely to drive human development and reduce poverty rates. Therefore, local governments need to focus budget policies on these sectors in a more targeted and sustainable manner.

The allocation of village funds aims to support rural development, community empowerment, and to strengthen the capacity of village governance in managing resources and fostering sustainable development. The objective of this study is to examine the effect of Village Fund Allocation (ADD) on the Village Development Index (IDM). Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in empowering the village economy in the western and northern regions of East Sumba Regency. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze how BUMDes carry out their functions through various business units, including poultry farming, agriculture, savings and loan services, clean water provision, tourism, and rental services. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, documentation, and literature review. The results show that these BUMDes have made significant contributions to increasing local income, creating job opportunities, and reducing dependency on external markets. Socially, BUMDes also fosters community participation and solidarity by involving youth and women in the economic process. However, several challenges were identified, including low public awareness, lack of competent human resources, weak organizational structure, and limited infrastructure. Strengthening BUMDes requires continuous capacity building, better institutional governance, and improved infrastructure to support sustainable village development.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bentuk-bentuk pemberdayaan yang ada di desa Maubokul, supaya dapat memperoleh capaian yang ingin dihasilkan kearah perubahan masyarakat yang berdaya guna dan memiliki kemampuan dalam merubah dan memperbaiki kehidupan sosial ekonomi masyarakatnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif diskriptif, dimana prosedur penelitian ini menghasilkan data deskriptif kata-kata tertulis atau lisan. Desa Maubokul memiliki kelompok tani dan kelompok tenun ikat, pemerintah desa perlu melakuan pengembangan keterampilan, dalam hal mengadakan pelatihan tentang bina manusia, bina usaha, bina lingkungan dan bina kelembagaan untuk meningkatkan pengembangan skill dan pengetahuan masyarakat. Pemberdayaan masyarakat di Desa Maubokul dalam aspek bina manusia Kelompok tani kegiatan mereka lakukan yaitu, tanam jagung, tanam sayur, tanam padi dan tanam rumput odot untuk pengelohan menjadi pakan ternak. Upaya dalam bina usaha dalam Program kelompok tani dilakukan di Desa Maubokul sedang menanam rumput odot untuk di olah menjadi pakan ternak sehingga kegiatan menjadi pengembangan potensi desa dan pengembangan usaha mereka. Bina lingkungan seperti pembersihan jalan, kantor desa, gereja penanaman tanaman jangka Panjang dan pembuatan pagar tanaman. Kelembagaan berisi sekelompok orang yang bekerjasama dengan pembagian tugas tertentu untuk mencapai suatu tujuan yang diinginkan. Tujuan kelompok dapat berbebeda, tetapi dalam organisasi menjadi satu kesatuan.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan ekonomi merupakan indikator penting dalam peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Namun, dinamika faktor-faktor demografis seperti tingkat pengangguran dan jumlah penduduk dapat memberikan pengaruh yang kompleks terhadap proses tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pengangguran dan jumlah penduduk terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) selama periode 2018–2022. Metode yang digunakan adalah regresi linier berganda berbasis data panel dengan pendekatan Fixed Effect Model (FEM), yang dipilih berdasarkan hasil uji Chow dan uji Hausman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara simultan kedua variabel bebas—pengangguran dan jumlah penduduk—berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi (F-statistic = 1125,333; p < 0,000). Secara parsial, jumlah penduduk berpengaruh negatif signifikan (t = -8,187; p = 0,000), sedangkan tingkat pengangguran justru menunjukkan pengaruh positif signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi (t = 3,558; p = 0,000). Koefisien determinasi (Adjusted R² = 0,9958) menunjukkan bahwa 99,58% variasi dalam pertumbuhan ekonomi dapat dijelaskan oleh kedua variabel independen. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi teoritis yang penting, karena bertolak belakang dengan hukum Okun, dan mengindikasikan kemungkinan adanya fenomena jobless growth atau pergeseran ekonomi ke sektor padat modal di NTT. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya evaluasi struktural terhadap distribusi sektor tenaga kerja dan peningkatan kualitas SDM untuk menyelaraskan pertumbuhan ekonomi dengan penciptaan lapangan kerja.
