Abstract

Abstract: This paper reports an acoustical research project conducted as a scientific base for the renovation of the Concert Hall of Postgraduate Program, Indonesia Art Institute, Yogyakarta. The concert hall is intended mostly for classical music performances. The renovation has been limited by the form of the existing building, tight time schedule, budget, material provision as well as low labors’ skill. The research applied digital simulation method using Ecotect 5.5 and CATT v8. Testing conducted after construction process found that the simulation results could be reproduced well in the real world. The sound of the played music instrument fulfills the hall with clear details.Keywords: Classical music, acoustics, concert hall, computer simulationAbstrak: Makalah ini menyajikan hasil penelitian akustik sebagai landasan ilmiah renovasi gedung konser musik klasik Pascasarjana Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. Renovasi dibatasi oleh bentuk gedung yang sudah ada, waktu, biaya, bahan yang tersedia serta kemampuan dan keterampilan yang dimiliki oleh pekerja lokal. Metoda utama yang dipakai adalah simulasi digital dengan memakai software Ecotect 5.5 dan CATT v8. Uji coba yang dilakukan setelah proses konstruksi selesai menunjukkan bahwa hasil simulasi dapat diaplikasikan pada keadaan nyata dengan baik. Bunyi musik terasa hidup dan detail terdengar dengan baik.Kata kunci: Musik klasik, akustik, gedung konser, simulasi komputer

Abstract

Sistem perhitungan pencahayaan penting untuk mengetahui jumlah dan tipe armatur, tingkat efektifitas kuat penerangan pada bidang kerja, serta untuk mengetahui besarnya pemakaian energi listrik pada suatu ruangan. Sistem perhitungan pencahayaan bisa dilakukan secara manual atau dengan simulasi menggunakan software pencahayaan. Kedua metode tersebut, menjadi alternatif pilihan bagi arsitek dalam mendapatkan formula pencahayaan buatan untuk desainnya. Namun permasalahannya adalah bagaimanakah perbandingan ketepatan kedua metode tersebut? Bagaimanakah hasil kedua metode tersebut terhadap standar yang berlaku? Dan bagaimanakah kualitas hasil perhitungan kedua metode tersebut? Untuk itulah, penelitian ini berusaha membandingkan metode perhitungan pencahayaan secara manual dan secara simulasi agar hasilnya bisa digunakan sebagai acuan arsitek dalam menentukan sistem perhitungan pencahayaan yang tepat pada desainnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental, dengan metode komparatif dan menggunakan booth sebagai media uji. Software simulasi yang dipilih adalah Relux Desktop versi 2020.2.3.0, dengan pertimbangan sudah lama release, mudah pengoperasionalannya dan banyak digunakan oleh praktisi.  Hasil akhir menunjukkan bahwa luaran perhitungan sistem pencahayaan secara simulasi (1) lebih akurat dengan deviasi maximal 4%, (2) rerata besar kuat penerangan pada bidang kerja dan pemakaian energi listrik lebih rendah terhadap standar yang berlaku dan (3) kualitas luaran lebih lengkap berupa kalkulasi, gambar perspektif sebaran cahaya dan gambar kontur sebaran pencahayaan sesuai titik lampu. BOOTH LIGHTING COMPARISON WITH MANUAL AND RELUX DESKTOP 2020.2.3.0 SIMULATION CALCULATION METHODS  The lighting calculation system is essential to determine the number and type of armature, light strength effectiveness, and electrical energy consumption. The lighting calculation system can be done manually or with simulation software. Both methods are alternative architects to obtain artificial lighting formulas. The problem is how to compare the accuracy of the two methods? How do the results of the two methods against the prevailing standards? And how is the quality of the results of the two methods? This study seeks to compare manual and simulation lighting calculation methods so that the results can be used as a reference for architects in determining the appropriate lighting calculation system. This research is an experimental study, with a comparative method and using a booth as a medium. The simulation software uses Relux Desktop version 2020.2.3.0, because it has been released for a long time, is easy to operate, and is widely used by architects. The final results show that the simulation output of the lighting system is (1) more accurate with a maximum deviation of 4%, (2) the average light strength in the work area, and the use of electrical energy is lower than the prevailing standards and (3) the quality of the output is more complete in the form of calculations, perspective drawing of light distribution and contour drawing of lighting distribution according to the position of the light points.

Abstract

Abstract - In the beginning of the 20th century, computerization has developed rapidly affected in all aspects of human life. Computer is not only simplified everything, but it has become an instrument which turned into something that is never thought before. In architecture, digital technology is not only impacted on the architectural planning and design aspects but also on the manufactured finished product. This is the study of literature along with interpretation of the author discussing about the phenomenon of the digital architecture development related to the theory, philosophical study, its evolution and development, as well as a deeper analysis to a few studies on the digital technology especially in the realm of architecture.

Abstract

Dewasa ini desain rumah tinggal di Surabaya cenderung mempunyai ukuran relatif kecil, dengan pola tatanan berderet dan berhimpit dengan bangunan tetangga, mempunyai jumlah lantai lebih dari satu. Kondisi ini mengakibatkan semakin sulit mendapatkan kenyamanan visual (pencahayaan alami) di dalam bangunan, terutama untuk ruangan di bawah lantai. Selain itu, dengan semakin banyak memasukkan pencahayaan alami dari atap dan dinding muka bangunan, maka radiasi matahari juga ikut masuk ke dalam bangunan. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan alternatif desain yang dapat menambah luasan selubung bangunan, namun tidak langsung berhadapan dengan radiasi matahari, salah satunya dengan menggunakan lantai panggung. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mempelajari kinerja pencahayaan pada  desain rumah panggung dibandingkan dengan rumah tidak panggung, yang lantai dasarnya menempel di atas permukaan tanah. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan komparasi, dengan membandingkan pola distribusi perolehan daylight factor pada rumah tinggal tidak panggung (RTP) dibandingkan dengan rumah panggung (RP). Software yang digunakan dalam simulasi adalah Ecotect Analysis 2011, dengan menggunakan data iklim dari stasiun pengukuran iklim Gedangan, Surabaya. Hasil dari simulasi menunjukkan bahwa pada pola distribusi daylight foctor pada rumah panggung lebih merata dibandingkan dengan rumah tidak panggung, baik secara horizontal pada lantai, maupun secara vertikal pada dinding bangunan. Selain itu juga tidak terjadi kontras pada pencahayaan di dalam ruang, sehingga ruangan tetap nyaman.

Abstract

Urban temperatures continue to increase due to urban heat island and global warming. Air temperatures in warm, humid tropical cities have exceeded 32oC. To achieve thermal comfort in buildings, people adopted air conditioners (ACs) that can consume more than 40% of the building's electrical energy. Air conditioning is often not accompanied by a supply of fresh outdoor air to minimize heat gain from the warm outdoor air. In that unventilated room, the CO2 concentration easily exceeds 1,000 ppm and causes discomfort. Plants such as Dracaena sanderiana require CO2 for photosynthesis. At the same time, they produce O2. Dracaena sanderiana has the potential to keep CO2 concentrations in the room for not exceeding the comfort limit. That plant can be integrated into architectural elements, both interior and exterior (combined with windows or facades), in the form of a "living air purifier" or Live Air Cleaner (LAC). This research developed a LAC in the form of an interior garden that can be used as an interior architectural element. The application of LAC helps to save the electrical energy of unventilated air-conditioned rooms while preventing the room CO2 concentration from reaching the maximum limit of indoor CO2 level acceptable to humans. The research adopted experimental methods using three experiment chambers to measure the Dracaena sanderiana’s CO2 absorption efficiency. The experiments found that Dracaena sanderiana had a unique performance, which should be considered when it is used as a live air cleaner. Though this plant absorbs CO2, its efficiency is low. Sufficient volume of Dracaena sanderiana is needed if it is to reduce indoor CO2 concentration.  Keywords: Live Air Cleaner, Air conditioning, Indoor garden, CO2 absorption

Abstract

This study investigates the acoustic comfort of shopping malls related to the standards and people's emotions. The soundscape is vital in shopping malls to attract more visitors. This research studied the soundscapes of two shopping malls in Yogyakarta, focusing on the effect of noise on the environmental perceptions of hedonic and utilitarian consumers. The research took on-site noise measurements to create soundscapes maps. There were also interviews to explore their opinions about the noise inside malls. Data were statistically analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Science. The results showed that only some soundscape elements affected arousal emotions among hedonic consumers, concerning a more extensive period of mall visits. No soundscape element affected pleasure emotions among utilitarian consumers with the length of stay in malls. Socio-cultural backgrounds of shopping culture (in traditional and modern markets) and soundscape conditions were also considered. The excessive soundscapes did not directly impact the health negatively of those who spent long periods in malls. The subsequent studies may continue to find the relation between acoustic comfort and the difference with the regulation.

Abstract

Meningkatkan angka kejadian COVID-19 telah memberikan arahan bagi rumah sakit untuk mengadakan ruang rawat inap isolasi. Perhatian pada ruang isolasi di rumah sakit, terutama terkait desain dan juga fungsi mental healing bagi pasien. Di sisi lain masih ada hal yang belum banyak digali terkait pengamatan fungsi jiwa mood dan afek melalui pendekatan non psikiatri atau pendekatan fisiologi. Emotiv dipergunakan sebagai alat pengamatan fisiologi otak berbasis, sistem EEG (Electroencephalography). Emotiv menerapkan metode perekaman, aktifitas gelombang kelistrikan otak tanpa invasi jaringan, yaitu pemasangan elektroda pada permukaan kulit kepala. Gelombang kelistrikan ini muncul seiring aktivitas sel-sel otak. Secara keseluruhan, tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah untuk memberikan penjelasan teoritis mengenai perangkat emotive untuk konteks penelitian dan eksperimen terkait mood dan afek pasien saat mendapatkan perawatan inap di ruang isolasi COVID-19. Penulisan ini merupakan review literatur dengan menggunakan beberapa sumber Pustaka serta hasil penelitian terkait alat EEG, alat emotiv, dan fungsi jiwa mood dan afek. Semua sumber literatur akan disimpulkan dan disusun secara teoritis. Hasil yang akan diharapkan adalah penjelasan secara teoritis yang berurutan dan jelas terkait pemanfaatan emotiv pada pengamatan mood afek terhadap desain interior ruang isolasi.
