Abstract

Financial Technology (fintech) is one of the financial service institutions that is currently in great demand, especially in terms of money loans or what is known as Financial Technology peer to peer lending (Online Loans). Due to the easy conditions and without the need for face-to-face meetings, certain groups of people use online loans as an alternative or solution to solving their financial problems. The aim of this research is to determine the factors that cause people to easily choose or decide to use online loans. The research method used by the author is a qualitative method through a more in-depth study of published sources such as journals, books, reports and articles as well as online sources. The results of this research show three main factors that influence the level of online loan use in Indonesia: consumer behavior driven by digital technology and easy access to financial services; low financial literacy which causes a lack of risk understanding; and uneven financial inclusion, limiting access to information about formal financial services

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the yield movement of Indonesian Government Bonds series FR0070 and the yield's response to macroeconomic shocks. Bonds were chosen because of their relatively fixed income, thus lowering the risk compared to stocks. Therefore, yield changes are an important indicator for investors and market participants. The research method used an error correction model. The results show that the BI-Rate and the exchange rate have a significant positive effect on yield in both the short and long term, while foreign exchange reserves and the volatility index (VIX) have a significant negative effect only in the long term. Inflation has no significant effect in either timeframe. These findings support the Arbitrage Pricing Theory, which states that the return of a security is influenced by several macroeconomic factors. This research is important for investors monitoring yield movements as a tool for bond portfolio management.

Abstract

The Marshall-Lerner Condition is a theory that a trade balance deficit can be eliminated through currency depreciation, if in the long term the absolute number of long-term export and import demand elasticities is greater than one. Initially, exchange rate depreciation will have a negative impact on trade through two methods, namely changes in volume and changes in value. This study aims to test whether the Marshall-Lerner Condition fulfilled in Indonesia's bilateral trade balance with the five largest trading partners using the Ordinary Least Squares method and in the observation period 2010.1-2022.12. The results of the Marshall-Lerner Condition study that one of Indonesia's five largest trading partners, namely China, the Marshall-Lerner Condition is met. While for Indonesia's other four largest trading partners, namely Japan, the US, the European Union and Singapore, Indonesia's largest trading partners are uncertain whether they meet the Marshall-Lerner Condition or not.
