Abstract

Cardiac arrest is a sudden emergency that can occur anywhere including schools. The American Heart Association recommends incorporating CPR training and AED education in schools to improve emergency response. Teachers, as caregivers, are encouraged to enhance their knowledge of CPR and AED to increase the survival rate of cardiac arrest victims. This study aimed to identify knowledge, attitude, practice, and barriers toward performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillation (AED) among school teachers. A quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted among 91 school teachers using a questionnaire covering five sections: sociodemographics, CPR and AED knowledge, attitudes, practices, and barriers. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 20.0, with descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and t-tests applied. Gender was significantly associated with attitude and practice, but no sociodemographic variables were associated with knowledge (p > 0.05). Educational training on CPR and AED can greatly improve school teachers' knowledge and skills.

Abstract

S, kadar gula darah awal sebesar 163 mg/dl turun menjadi 122 mg/dl.

Abstract

Kata kunci: dzikir, nyeri, post operasi appendicitis, relaksasi genggam jari ABSTRACT Introduction: Appendicitis is an acute inflammation of the appendix vermiformis, which ranges in length from 7 to 15 cm. Patients with appendicitis will have their appendix surgically removed. Appendicitis can cause discomfort in the postoperative period. Postoperative pain that does not go away makes daily life and activities uncomfortable. Non-pharmacological pain relief methods include finger-clasp relaxation and dhikr. Deep breath relaxation can come before finger-grip relaxation, which can then be paired with dhikr. This can produce a sense of comfort, relaxation, and physical and spiritual avoidance of stress and tension, all of which can induce pain. Meanwhile, those who practice dhikr will feel calmer and more relaxed. Dhikr will regulate serotonin and norepinephrine levels in the brain, resulting in a sensation of tranquility in the heart and mind. Methods: This study used a case study technique with a descriptive design. The study included three postoperative appendicitis patients with a moderate pain scale (4-6). Results: In postoperative appendicitis patients, applying finger-grip relaxation and dhikr for three days with a duration of 10-20 minutes effectively reduces pain from moderate (6) to mild (1). This difference can be detected by comparing the pain scale before and after practicing finger-grip relaxation with dhikr. Keywords: dhikr, finger-grip relaxation, pain, post operative appendicitis

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: A fracture or break in a bone is usually produced by trauma, which can happen directly or indirectly. Typically, surgery is performed on fractured patients, which might cause discomfort. Deep breathing techniques with a mixture of Dhikr recitation, which is beneficial for rest and relaxes muscles, can be used to alleviate pain and enhance comfort in post-op fracture patients. This case study examined the use of a combination of dhikr treatment and deep breathing relaxation for post-operative fracture patients experiencing pain. Method: This study employed an evaluative design, namely a case study of post-op fracture patients experiencing discomfort. The intervention was implemented non-pharmacologically using deep breathing relaxation techniques and a mixture of Dhikr recitations, which can dramatically reduce pain in post-operative patients in 5-15 minutes. Results: After observing the administration using a combination of dhikr therapy and deep breathing exercise three times per day or when pain emerges, there were changes in pain as seen by blood pressure, pulse, and the pain scale, which can reduce. Conclusion: Dhikr therapy combined with deep breathing exercises helps alleviate pain in post-operative fracture patients.
