Abstract

This book initiated “new wave” organizational studies that begin to edit, prune, apply, and synthesize what we have to see what we do not have yet, what we have too much of, and what we agree on as the basics. What makes this assessment plausible is the fact that Pfeffer has shown that the several perspectives now dotting the field can converge more strongly on a problem than mere lists of properties can. Pfeffer applies multiple perspectives simultaneously to a durable puzzle in organizations and shows not only that power is less puzzling than we thought but also that all perspectives we are currently working with have something to say about how that puzzle can be untangled most meaningfully. In doing so, Pfeffer has made a major contribution in the form of an important book.

Abstract

Telecommuting telah menjadi mode kerja yang semakin populer menjadi fenomena yang berkembang di dunia yang lebih maju selama dua dekade terakhir. Telecommuting memungkinkan karyawan untuk melakukan semua atau sebagian dari pekerjaan mereka dari rumah, menggunakan teknologi telecommuting canggih dan peralatan internet untuk mengirim dan menerima pekerjaan secara elektronik dari rumah ke kantor, dan sebaliknya sehingga telecommuting memungkinkan orang untuk menyeimbangkan pekerjaan dan kehidupan keluarga mereka. Pengaturan telecommuting membawa ke garis depan gagasan bahwa pekerjaan bukan lagi bicara tempat, tetapi apa yang dilakukan, dan cara-cara kerja baru kemungkinan akan terus berlanjut. Pemahaman multidisiplin dan komprehensif tentang manfaat dan kelemahan telecommuting dapat digunakan untuk membentuk dan menginformasikan praktik organisasi dan kebijakan publik secara lebih efektif.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the work environment and workload on employee performance of Jambi City Population and Civil Registration Service employees. This research uses quantitative methods with data collection techniques by distributing questionnaires to 88 respondents. Hypothesis testing was carried out using descriptive analysis techniques the IBM SPSS 29 software application. The result of this research show that the Work Environment partially has a significant and positive effect on employee performance, workload partially has a significant and positive effect on employee performance, then work environment and workload simultaneously has significant and positive effect on the performance of Jambi City Population and Civil Regristration Service employees.

Abstract

This research aims to see the influence of work motivation and work commitment on employee performance at the Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil Kota Jambi service using data collection techniques by distributing questionnaires to 88 respondents. Hypothesis testing uses Descriptive Analysis Techniques the SPSS application as a data processing tool. The results of this research show that work motivation has a positive and significant influence on the Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil Kota Jambi. work commitment has a positive and significant influence on employee performance. Sugestions in the research: 1) regarding employee permomance variables, employees should make better work planning so that employees can complete work on time. 2) in the work motivation variabels, superiors should be better able to organize and survise employees so that employees have motivation from superiors so that employee performance can be even better. 3) in work commitment variable, employee should have a greater sense of family towards the angency/organization because the organization’s agency has a lot of meaning for each employee.

Abstract

This research was conducted to obtain an overview of the influence of transactional leadership on employee performance through job satisfaction as a mediating variable in car variations in Jambi City and to find out whether there is a mediating role of job satisfaction on the influence of leadership on employee performance. This type of research is quantitative. The data collection technique uses Structural equation modeling (SEM) with the SmartPLS program. The results show that transactional leadership and job satisfaction have a significant influence on employee performance, and job satisfaction has a mediating role.

Abstract

Abstract This paper has two objectives. Firstly, it aims to examine prior research on CEO succession in order to establish a comprehensive framework, building upon the contributions of Berns & Klarner (2017) to the present. Secondly, it proposes a future research agenda concerning the board’s role in CEO succession procedures. Articles in ten leading journals listed in EBSCO, ScienceDirect, and Scopus databases were selected. Conceptual and relational analyses were taken to achieve the objectives of this paper. At last, this paper produces a comprehensive framework of CEO succession research built on and extended from the prior research. A future research agenda concerning CEO succession is also proposed.

Abstract

Tekanan kinerja berorientasi pada upaya karyawan dalam meningkatkan kinerja mereka. Namun, masih belum definitif apakah tekanan kinerja berfungsi sebagai strategi yang efektif atau tidak efektif dalam menghasilkan perilaku kerja yang menguntungkan. Studi ini menganalisis dengan cermat sifat dinamis dari tekanan kinerja. Berdasarkan studi literatur, penulis berteori bahwa reaksi terhadap tekanan kinerja dipengaruhi oleh fluktuasi harian terhadap bagaimana tekanan tersebut dinilai, dan fluktuasi ini menjelaskan mengapa tekanan kinerja dapat menjadi pedang bermata dua dengan menghasilkan efek samping yang baik dan buruk bagi organisasi. Penulis memperkirakan bahwa, pada tingkat harian, tekanan kinerja dapat dianggap sebagai suatu ancaman, yang berpotensi mengakibatkan penurunan kemampuan pengaturan diri, sehingga menjelaskan perilaku disfungsional, seperti ketidaksopanan. Tekanan kinerja harian juga dapat dinilai sebagai tantangan, yang memunculkan keterlibatan yang menjelaskan peningkatan kecakapan tugas dan kewarganegaraan. Sifat resiliensi diperkirakan akan memoderasi efek-efek tersebut, mendorong individu untuk menilai tekanan kinerja sebagai tantangan alih-alih sebagai ancaman. Hal ini, pada gilirannya, akan mengurangi dampak penurunan pengaturan diri yang dapat menghasilkan perilaku disfungsional, serta meningkatkan dampak keterikatan yang berkontribusi pada perilaku fungsional.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of the work environment on employee performance through intrinsic motivation as an intervening variable on employees of LPP RRI (Radio Republik Indonesia) Jambi City. The method used is quantitative analysis with a population and sample of all employees totaling 74 respondents. Data were collected using a Likert scale-based questionnaire, and the analysis was carried out using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique based on Partial Least Square (PLS) with the help of SmartPLS 3 software. The results of the study indicate that: 1) the work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, 2) the work environment has a positive and significant effect on intrinsic motivation, 3) intrinsic motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, 4) intrinsic motivation as an intervening variable is able to mediate the influence of the work environment on employee performance positively and significantly.

Abstract

The main aim of the study was to empirically investigate organizational commitment in mediating the relationship between work environment support and employee retention. The questionnaire was distributed to 72 respondents who were honorary employees of Bhayangkara Jambi Hospital. The questionnaire consisted of several statement items received from previous studies to obtain responses using quantitative methodology. Statistical analysis and hypothesis testing used PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The findings of the study explain that work environment support has a positive and significant effect on employee retention. In addition, organizational commitment is able to mediate the relationship between work environment support and employee retention. This study presents implications for human resource practices so that agencies continue to develop mechanisms by providing work environment support to increase employee organizational commitment, which in turn will increase employee retention. This study contributes to the existing literature on the relationship between work environment support and employee retention.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh pertukaran pemimpin-anggota terhadap perilaku inovatif dengan kebahagiaan pegawai sebagai variabel mediasi pada Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan Provinsi Jambi. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) menggunakan SmartPLS 4.0. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 75 pegawai dari total populasi 295. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pertukaran pemimpin-anggota berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku inovatif; (2) pertukaran pemimpin-anggota berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kebahagiaan pegawai; (3) kebahagiaan pegawai berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku inovatif ; dan (4) kebahagiaan pegawai terbukti memediasi hubungan antara pertukaran pemimpin-anggota dan perilaku inovatif. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah pentingnya membangun hubungan yang berkualitas antara pemimpin dan bawahan untuk mendorong kebahagiaan kerja yang pada akhirnya memperkuat inovasi di lingkungan organisasi.
