Abstract

Assessment of pavement condition is functionally the most important aspect in determining road maintenance and repair activities, so that the financing can be monitored properly. There are two methods in handling the road assessment, ie visually and using tools. Visual assessment can use PASER and PCI. While IRI is a road assessment using Roadroid (Android Smartphone App) tool, where the tool will be used as national reference to get IRI value, because the cost is cheaper and effective. Therefore there needs to be a correlation between the three methods. Correlation in this research is divided into three, namely the correlation of PASER value with PCI, PASER with IRI, and PCI with IRI. The research location used as research object is South Ring Road Sragen. The result of the research was obtained, road assessment using PASER method with PCI resulted correlation value of pearson 0,51. Assessment of PASER with IRI has a correlation value of pearson -0,14. While the value of PCI with IRI yield correlation value pearson -0,23. The value of the correlation coefficient between PASER and PCI has the highest value, since it has a nearly equal assessment approach by measuring the damage visually. The correlation of PCI with IRI is higher than PASER with IRI, thus proving that PCI assessment is more recommended because it can accommodate all types of road damage.

Abstract

Roads are infrastructure that is very important in supporting people’s daily lives. With the high growth rate of traffic, the traffic load will cause damage to the road pavement in the form of deformation (rutting) and fatigue. The performance of an HRS-BC asphalt mixture was investigated to determine the asphalt’s resistance to damage. HRS-BC asphalt mixture specimens were produced by a palm shell AMP and by a diesel AMP. The performance of the HRS-BC asphalt mixture was tested in the laboratory with indirect tensile stiffness modulus (ITSM) and dynamic creep test. The results showed that the HRS-BC asphalt mixture sample produced by the palm shell AMP had better stiffness than the HRS-BC asphalt mixture produced by the diesel AMP. Both the samples of the HRS-BC asphalt mixture produced by the palm shell AMP and by the diesel AMP were not deformed when given a standard load of 100 kPa and 3,600 load repetitions.

Abstract

Dammar Asphalt (Daspal) is expected to be used as a bio-asphalt renewable binder for road construction. It is made with a modification of the "Jabung", which is the dammar gum based material mixed with grounded red brick debris and low quality cooking oil at a certain ratio. Dammar gum is obtained from the Dipterocarpaceae family of trees in India and East Asia, most are produced by tapping trees. The gum varies in color from clear to pale yellow. Dammar gum is a triterpenoid resin, containing a large number of triterpenes and their oxidation products. Many of them are low molecular weight compounds. The objective of this research is to analyze the chemical properties of Daspal uses a Resonance Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) method to compare with conventional asphalt. The investigation using spectral data showed that all types of Daspal have similar functional groups of Saturate, Aromatic, Resins, and Asphalten as the 60/70 penetration conventional bitumen, so that based on its chemical properties Daspal can be considered as bioaspal.

Abstract

This study evaluated thermodynamically the performance of conversion of palm kernel shells into combustible gas through gasification technology for aggregate heating in a hot-mixed asphalt production plant by developing a thermodynamic model using licensed Aspen Plus v.11 software. The effects of the equivalence ratio (ER) in the gasification process and the amount of combustion air to combustible gas to attain the required aggregate temperature were investigated. The thermodynamic model showed a good agreement with the experimental results based H2 and CO contain in producer gas which provided by maximum root mean square errors value of 8.82 and 6.42 respectively. Gasification of 30–35 kg of palm kernel shells in a fixed-bed gasifier reactor using air as a gasifying agent at an ER of 0.325–0.350 generated gaseous fuel for heating 1 ton of aggregate to a temperature of 180–200°C with combustion excess air 10%–20%.

Abstract

Rubberized thin surfacing hot mix asphalt (RTSHMA) is a type of flexible pavement that is currently being developed. It can provide the same good performance as asphalt concrete–wearing course (AC-WC). Based on previous research, the use of crumb rubber in the asphalt mixture can provide several advantages, such as increasing the flexibility of the mix so that the pavement is more resistant to cracking. Based on research showing the advantages of rubberized asphalt, the idea emerged to apply it in the field, namely on the Palur–Sragen City Boundary section as wearing course. The method of analysis in this study was modeling the pavement structure with the KENPAVE and BISAR 3.0 programs. The analysis results showed that the AC-WC model and RTSHMA model have the same good performance because both of them have a service life of more than twenty years, which is the standard for flexible pavements. However, RTSHMA has an advantage, i.e., the thickness layer is 25% thinner than AC-WC’s. With a thinner layer than AC-WC but the same good performance, RTSHMA is worth considering as an alternative pavement, especially for overlays.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the CARTRACK application on the productivity and operational efficiency of heavy equipment in the IKN 3A Toll Road Project, Karangjoang–KKT Kariangau segment. CARTRACK is a GPS-based telematics system that records real-time data on equipment operation, including effective working hours, idle time, and work volume. A comparative quantitative method was used by evaluating data obtained from two monitoring methods: manual recording using Daily Time Sheets and digital tracking through CARTRACK. Six types of heavy equipment were observed: Excavator, Dump Truck, Truck Mixer, Truck Trailer, Vibratory Soil Compactor, and Crane. Data were processed using productivity and efficiency formulas and analyzed using linear regression. The results indicate that the use of CARTRACK significantly improves both productivity and efficiency. The Dump Truck showed an increase in productivity from 2.05 m³/hour to 2.98 m³/hour, while the Crane recorded the highest efficiency gain at 41%. Regression analysis demonstrated a strong positive relationship between effective working hours and productivity, with the highest coefficient of determination (R² = 0.5895) and correlation coefficient (R = 0.7678) for the Dump Truck. These findings confirm that CARTRACK enhances monitoring accuracy and contributes to more efficient and productive heavy equipment operations in large-scale infrastructure projects

Abstract

Government policies that carry out large-scale social restrictions during the Covid-19 period have had an impact on reducing air traffic both for landings and takeoffs, which will have an impact on the life of runway services. Service life is the strength of road pavement in standing the repetition of permit loads before experiencing failure, by knowing that the service life can be directly used to determine the right time for runway maintenance. The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the life of runway services. The method used in this research is the FAA method with the help of FAARFIELD software, this software calculates the service life based on the CDF value of each aircraft. The data used is secondary data in the form of aircraft type data, CBR ground, and existing pavement data. From the results of the research, it is known that the COVID-19 pandemic has a positive impact on the life of runway service by increasing the life of runway service by 4 years, where in the condition of covid-19 conditions it has a CDF value of 0.20 with a service life of 19 years and in normal conditions the CDF value is 0.22 with a service life of 15 years. The results of this research contribute to decision-making in carrying out maintenance and repairs on the runway of Soekarno Hatta International Airport so that the runway can operate sustainably in accordance with performance requirements throughout the life of the plan, to maintain flight safety and comfort.

Abstract

School revitalization programs are essential for ensuring the safety, functionality, and sustainability of educational infrastructure. However, existing school building assessment approaches primarily focus on physical building conditions and provide limited support for broader revitalization prioritization decisions. This study examines the current landscape of school infrastructure prioritization and school building assessment research and proposes an integrated assessment instrument for school revitalization prioritization. A literature review combined with bibliometric and thematic analyses was conducted using Scopus-indexed publications. Two datasets were analyzed: 108 articles related to school infrastructure prioritization and 46 articles related to school building assessment. Bibliometric mapping was performed using VOSviewer to identify dominant research themes, while thematic analysis was employed to synthesize assessment indicators and identify research gaps. The findings indicate that existing assessment approaches are predominantly oriented toward physical-condition indicators, including structural integrity, architectural deterioration, utility performance, and safety considerations. In contrast, educational demand, asset management, and regional context factors remain underrepresented despite their potential influence on revitalization priorities. Based on the identified gaps, this study proposes the Integrated School Revitalization Prioritization Assessment Instrument (ISRPAI), which comprises four dimensions: Building Condition, Educational Demand, Asset Management, and Regional Context. The instrument incorporates eleven indicators, including school capacity utilization, active classroom availability, land status, maintenance history, disaster vulnerability, accessibility, and socioeconomic conditions. The proposed ISRPAI extends conventional building condition assessment approaches by providing a more comprehensive basis for school revitalization prioritization and offers a conceptual foundation for future validation studies and decision-support systems in educational infrastructure planning.
