Abstract

Tradisi Bajapuik merupakan ritual pernikahan adat yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Pariaman, suatu perubahan tradisi Bajapuik di masyarakat Pariaman urban melalui proses komunikasi antar budaya di masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan secara detail transformasi tradisi bajapuik yang dilakukan oleh perantaug di perkotaan. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori fenomenologi sosial dan teori interaksi simbolik Alfred Schutz. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode fenomenologi dengan paradigma konstruktivis. Informan penelitian ini adalah perantau dari Pariaman dan memahami pengalaman tradisi Bajapuik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi transformasi dalam tradisi Bajapuik berupa perubahan makna simbol budaya bagi pendatang dalam mempertahankan tradisi Bajapuik yang sebelumnya memiliki makna sebagai simbol identitas Pariaman-Minangkabau. Keadaan individu dan modern masyarakat perkotaan terlibat dalam politik identitas dimana masyarakat selalu mencari formasi identitas baru. Terdapat transformasi makna Bajapuik, simbol Bajapuik dan prosesi tradisi Bajapuik dalam lingkungan sosial nomaden Jakarta dan dalam mengekspresikan identitas etnis Minang karena kesadaran individu untuk mempertahankan tradisi Bajapuik yang konvensional.

Abstract

The adverse effect of drug abuse and drug trafficking is detrimental to people's lives, this has prompted the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the National Narcotics Agency to focus more on various efforts to prevent the Eradication of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Trafficking in Persons (P4GN). Based on data from the Correctional Database System from 9 detention centers and prisons in Jakarta. Jakarta's Class II A Narcotics Prison is currently the prison with the highest number of Narcotics convicts, namely 2,542 people. Based on these problems, the researchers made the mobile law extension program a research. This type of research is descriptive qualitative using communication strategy steps according to Anwar Arifin. The steps of the communication strategy include audience introduction, message preparation, method determination, and media selection. Based on the research results, seen from audience recognition, message preparation, method determination, and media selection, it turns out that the Ministry of Law and Human Rights actually prepared and implemented a communication strategy in the mobile law counseling program.

Abstract

One strategy to pique viewers' interest is to display contentious topics, cases, and sources. Metro TV successfully achieved this with their Special Report, "Becoming a Suspect, Rafael Alun Talks". This study was conducted to learn more about Metro TV's editorial approach to airing contentious sources on the Rafael Alun episode of the Special Report show. The idea of editorial strategy and the Hierarchy of Influence theory are used as analytical tools in this study. A case study using a qualitative approach is the methodology employed, and post positivism is the paradigm. The study's findings demonstrate that Metro TV's editorial strategy for airing the Rafael Alun edition of the Special Report consists of five key components: (1) picking topics that are popular and relevant to the general public, as well as their sources; (2) choosing the concept for the program; (3) choosing the team that produces the content; (4) processing the content in line with editorial and editorial direction; and (5) evaluation.

Abstract

This article describes an adaptation of the leadership communication style in the pandemic era to maintain business continuity. The analysis uses the theory of change, organizational communication, and leadership. The method used is a case study with a qualitative approach where data mining is carried out through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The study results concluded that the leadership style applied as a communication pattern as a coach with employees to maintain business continuity. Through this pattern, the nature of the partnership with employees is well established. This research has implications for efforts to prioritize the leader’s communication competence as Coach leadership style in implementing changes during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study results show that the role of the leader as a Coach can raise employee awareness to understand and accept changing conditions and have a commitment to take actions that can maintain the company’s business continuity.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyzed the social construction of marketing of the JKT48 fandom group in the context of the cultural industry context. The culture industry can be interpreted as cultural production and consumption or contribution to cultural production. This reality is one of the popular culture products which is quite popular with a group of JKT 48 fans. This study uses a case study method with interview and observation as data collection technique. The results show that the social construction of fandom is formed on the same interest in a cultural form. The presence of JKT48 gives a new color in forming a subculture about the concept of become a fan as a consumer of popular culture. This relates to the marketing of a culture as a form of cultural industry as a contribution in cultural production.

Abstract

Rendahnya minat baca di Indonesia berdampak pada terbatasnya inovasi dalam kegiatan literasi, yang cenderung pasif dan hanya berfokus pada pemahaman literal teks tanpa melibatkan rangsangan imajinatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perancangan, implementasi, dan peran interaksi sosial dalam pendekatan stimulus imajinasi yang dilakukan oleh volunteer pada kegiatan literasi Komunitas Book Clan Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, dimana data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori konstruktivisme sosial Lev Vygotsky yang menekankan bahwa pembelajaran terjadi melalui interaksi sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perancangan stimulus imajinasi dilakukan secara kolaboratif dengan mengedepankan kreativitas, sedangkan implementasinya berlangsung secara dinamis melalui aktivitas literasi yang mendorong daya imajinasi anggota. Interaksi sosial antara volunteer dan anggota komunitas berperan signifikan dalam memperkuat stimulus imajinasi sehingga menciptakan pengalaman literasi yang bermakna dan menyenangkan. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan pemahaman baru mengenai strategi perancangan kegiatan literasi yang kreatif dan imajinatif, serta berkontribusi dalam pengembangan pendekatan komunikasi kreatif di berbagai komunitas literasi.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the creative process of the Teater Kafha team in raising stakeholder awareness regarding environmental issues through the theater performance "Re(kognisi)". The focus of this research is to understand how environmental messages are constructed within the performance, how communication strategies are manifested through elements of the performance such as the script, symbols, actors, artistic direction, and audience interaction, and how the audience interprets and responds to these messages. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation for data collection. The results indicate that Teater Kafha develops a collaborative creative process by combining the ideas of the director, artistic team, and actors to translate environmental issues into communicative stage symbols. Communication strategies are realized through the composition of a reflective script, the use of strong visual symbols, deep actor expressions, and spatial arrangements that create an immersive experience for the audience. Audience responses to the performance show a new understanding and critical reflection on environmental issues, particularly regarding the impact of a geothermal project that serves as the backdrop of the performance. This study emphasizes that performing arts, particularly theater, can function as an alternative communication medium that effectively articulates social and environmental issues. Through this approach, theater plays a significant role in broadening public awareness of important and urgent environmental issues.

Abstract

Technological developments have created many innovations that help make human life more manageable. One of these developments is the Bariska Robot presented at the Family Mart Grand Indonesia Store, Jakarta. Even though its existence is welcomed, quite a few feel that it is a threat to humans because it is considered that it can replace the role of the Barista. The presence of robot baristas cannot replace the baristas themselves. Baristas have values ​​that apparently cannot be imitated by robots. In this research, the author used the library research method to collect information according to the needs of this research. As well as using Thomas S. Kuhn's ideas to examine the role of paradigms in the scientific revolution. Which is the basis of the technological changes that occur.

Abstract

Penelitian yang menjadi objek ini berangkat dari hadinya konten YouTube Layaria dalam menampilkan tayangannya, mulai dari film pendek, serial situasi komedi hingga soft news, ditengah maraknya tayangan YouTube yang bersaing di era sosial media saat ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan  untuk mengetahui interpretasi penonton Layaria. Selain interpretasi, penelitian ini juga untuk mengetahui makna realitas dari tayangan Layaria. Pendekatan yang digunakan berupa penelitian kualitatif dengan metode penelitian yaitu analisis resepsi dari Stuart Hall. Informan dari penelitian ini terdapat 5 orang yang ditentukan dari penonton pilihan Layaria. Dari hasil penelitian ini terdapat 4 kategorisasi, serta di klasifikasi sesuai dalam kategori Negotiated, Oppositional dan Dominant Reading. Dimana para informan cenderung dapat menerima tayangan Layaria sebagai media hiburan dalam menonton YouTube.Research into this object departs from the content of YouTube Layaria in displaying its impressions, ranging from short films, comedy situation series to soft news, amid rampant YouTube impressions that compete in the era of social media today. This study aims to determine the interpretation of Layarian audience. Besides interpretation, this research is also to know the meaning of reality from Layaria show. The approach used in the form of qualitative research with research method that is the reception analysis from Stuart Hall. Informants from this study have 5 people determined from the audience of the choice of Layarian. From the results of this study there are 4 categorizations, as well as in the classification according to the categories Negotiated, Oppositional and Dominant Reading. Where informants tend to receive Layaria impressions as a medium of entertainment in watching YouTube

Abstract

The development of communication technology allows journalists to publish journalistic content independently through personal accounts on social media and sharing platforms. Independent publication allows journalists to earn additional income exceeding their official salary as journalists in media companies. This practice indicated as entrepreneurial journalism often blurs the boundaries between journalistic and commercial aspects. This study aims to reveal the meaning of entrepreneurial journalism among journalists of mass media companies. This study uses the social construction of technology (SCoT) theory with Alfred Schutz's phenomenological method and a qualitative approach. The study showed that journalists publish news through social media accounts and sharing platforms in various forms and content formats. The journalists practice entrepreneurial journalism because their skills support their passion for mastering technological devices. Besides, they also achieve self-satisfaction from working independently. Journalists regard entrepreneurial journalism as a side job while upholding the journalistic aspect rather than the economic reason. Expectations and opportunities to earn additional income do not attract journalists practicing entrepreneurial journalism to ignore journalistic values and norms. Journalists prioritize creating and publishing quality news content by following the Journalistic Code of Ethics. Entrepreneurial journalism tends to be interpreted by journalists personally as a form of repositioning and self-actualization during social life.
