Abstract

Abstract

Tsunami is a high wave caused by tectonic earthquakes, volcanic eruption or landslides in the ocean.  Indonesia is one of the countries that has thousands of islands. Lots of towns is a city on the banks or waterfront city. Indonesia becomes Tsunami prone areas. Tsunami can affect damage in various sectors, namely land degradation and infrastructure, environmental damage, fatalities, even the psychological impact on the victims themselves. Therefore, it takes a clustering of tsunami-prone areas. The result of clustering can give information to the public to remain alert to the danger of the tsunami. Also, clustering of the tsunami can be used by a government to prepare policies in overcoming the danger of the tsunami. Improved K-Means is an approach that proposed in this study to clustering the tsunami prone areas. In selecting the initial centroid must be done properly to produce a high accuracy. We proposed a method to determine the initial centroid appropriately, so that can increase the accuracy. The proposed method is Particle Swam Optimization (PSO). This study also uses comparison methods, such as K-Means, K-Means Improved, and K-Means Improved PSO. This study uses silhouette coefficient to test the accuracy of the system. The result showed that the proposed method has higher accuracy than the comparison method. Silhouette coefficient generated at 0.99924223 with smaller computing time

Abstract

Inflation is the tendency of increasing prices of goods in general and happens continuously. Indonesia's economy will decline if inflation is not controlled properly. To control the inflation rate required an inflation rate forecasting in Indonesia. The forecasting result will be used as information to the government in order to keep the inflation rate stable. This study proposes Fuzzy Neural System (FNS) to forecast the inflation rate. This study uses historical data and external factors as the parameters. The external factor using in this study is very important, which inflation rate is not only affected by the historical data. External factor used are four external factors which each factor has two fuzzy set. While historical data is divided into three input variables with three fuzzy sets. The combination of three input variables and four external factors will generate too many rules. Generate of rules with too many amounts will less effective and have lower accuracy. The novelty is needed to minimalize the amount of rules by using two steps fuzzy. To evaluate the forecasting results, Root Means Square Error (RMSE) technique is used. Fuzzy Inference System Sugeno used as the comparison method. The study results show that FNS has a better performance than the comparison method with RMSE that is 1.81.

Abstract

Forecasting is a method of predicting past and current data, most often by pattern analysis. A Fuzzy Takagi Sugeno Kang (TSK) study can predict Indonesia's inflation rate, yet with too high error. This study proposes an accuracy improvement based on Evolution Strategies (ES), a specific evolutionary algorithm with good performance optimization problems. ES algorithm used to determine the best coefficient values on consequent fuzzy rules. This research uses Bank Indonesia time-series data as in the previous study. ES algorithm uses the popSize test to determine the number of initial chromosomes to produce the best optimal solution for this problem. The increase of popSize creates better fitness value due to the ES's broader search area. The RMSE of ES-TSK is 0.637, which outperforms the baseline approach. This research generally shows that ES may reduce repetitive experiment events due to Fuzzy coefficients' manual setting. The algorithm complexity may cost to the computing time, yet with higher performance.
