Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease characterized by an abnormal increase in blood sugar levels. The most frequently encountered type of DM is Diabetes Mellitus type 2. Type 2 DM is a condition that lasts a lifetime, so it has an impact on reducing the quality of human life. This happens because the body cannot produce and use insulin effectively so that sugar levels continue to increase. Type 2 DM is experienced by several people in Ledokombo Village, Jember Regency. Type 2 DM sufferers need to change their behavior, namely their eating patterns, taking medication and regular check-ups to manage their disease. The aim of this activity is to increase knowledge about how to use type 2 DM medication among the community in Ledokombo Village, Jember Regency. The method used is to provide education to families or type 2 DM sufferers about how to use the drug. The results of the activity show an increase in public knowledge and understanding of how to use type 2 DM medication. Knowledge before being given education shows the lowest value of 17.39% and the highest 100%, while after being given education shows the lowest value of 43.48% and the highest 100%. Increased public knowledge about how to using type 2 DM medication can provide motivation for healthy living to manage the disease.

Abstract

Diarrhea is an environmental disease that is the main cause of morbidity and death. Diarrhea is a digestive canal infection that is a health problem in the world, including Indonesia. The percentage of toddler deaths due to diarrhea in Indonesia is quite high, namely around 4.55%. Health education about treating diarrhea is one way to reduce the incidence of diarrhea in the community. This activity aims are to provide knowledge about the causes of diarrhea, its symptoms, how to treat it, and preventive measures in Kalisat Village, Jember Regency. The method is to educate mothers of the Posyandu in Kalisat Village. The results of the activity showed active participation in the material presented and succeeded in bridging public health knowledge.  It is hoped that this activity can continue and have a positive impact on the health of the people of Kalisat Village in the future, preventing cases of toddler deaths caused by diarrhea.

Abstract

Indonesia adalah negara tropis dan dikenal memiliki puluhan ribu tanaman dengan khasiat obat. Beberapa tanaman dapat digunakan sebagai antiseptik dan obat tradisional. Sebagian masyarakat kita belum mengetahui beberapa tanaman yang dapat digunakan sebagai antiseptik seperti lidah buaya dan minuman kesehatan seperti teh bunga telang. Penggunaan tanaman obat yang tidak sesuai aturan dan dosis akan mengurangi manfaat obat itu sendiri, sehingga perlu dilakukan edukasi kepada masyarakat tentang penggunaan tanaman obat. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat mengenai penyakit tropis dan tindakan pencegahan yang dapat dilakukan seperti menggunakan bunga telang sebagai teh dan pembersih tangan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan metode offline, yaitu tahap sosialisasi penyakit tropis dan bantuan dalam pembuatan teh bunga telang. Lokasi pelaksanaan berada di Desa Rambipuji dan dilaksanakan dari Juni hingga November 2025. Peserta adalah ibu-ibu PKK dari setiap dusun, sekitar 30 orang. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman tentang penyakit tropis sebesar 37%, pemahaman tentang pembuatan pembersih tangan sebesar 26%, dan pemahaman tentang pembuatan teh bunga Butterfly Pea sebesar 28%. Kesimpulan: kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang penggunaan bunga Butterfly Pea di sektor kesehatan.
