Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana dan peranan modal sosial (social capital) yang dimiliki oleh orang Banjar dalam membangun jaringan sosial dan relasi antar etnis yang ada di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. Pendekatan yang gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kasus (case study). Melalui pendekatan studi kasus, diharapkan dapat mengungkapkan tentang peranan modal sosial dan jaringan sosial orang Banjar dalam membangun relasi antar etnis di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. Keberhasilan orang Banjar dalam membangun jaringan sosial, tentu tidak terlepas dari pengaruh modal sosial yang mereka miliki. Melalui kajian partisipasi etnis dalam kehidupan sosial, permasalahan penelitian ini akan dicari jawabannya dengan mengidentifikasi, memetakan dan memahami dinamika sosial pada komunitas etnis tersebut. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modal sosial memegang peranan penting dalam membangun jaringan sosial dan komunikasi antar etnis bagi orang Banjar di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. Jaringan sosial ini berkembang seiring dengan proses adaptasi yang mereka lakukan sehingga terbentuk hubungan relasi antar etnis. Dari hasil penelitian, ternyata jaringan sosial yang dikembangkan orang Banjar di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir dibagi dalam tiga bentuk, yaitu; (1) jaringan sosial yang didasarkan pada sistem kekerabatan dan kekeluargaan; (2) jaringan sosial yang dibentuk dan dikembangkan dalam bentuk kelompok-kelompok usaha; dan (3) jaringan sosial yang dibentuk karena kesamaan agama, budaya, dan sebagainya.

Abstract

In the current era of globalization, technology plays a very important role. The flow of globalization certainly has positive and negative impacts on world society. To anticipate this impact, the role of social sciences education (IPS) is required because social sciences education is very closely related to social issues that occur in society. Apart from that, social studies education learning materials are closely related to the nation's social and cultural values. In solving social problems, social studies education must play an active role. One approach that can be used to solve this social problem is the reflective inquiry approach. Through the reflective inquiry approach, students are taught how to use social skills to solve factual problems that occur in everyday life and in society. Social studies education must be able to help students control themselves in life and apply these values to their behavior in society. Social studies education must be able to develop people into good citizens, familiar with all elements of the environment, wise and prudent in building relationships, and exploring and developing various forms of elements of the existing cultural environment. Social studies education not only emphasizes developing cognitive aspects such as the ability to master social science concepts or theories, the ability to think critically and analytically, or mastering social skills, but can also develop students' affective aspects, which include developing students' attitudes, values, and morals. The reflective inquiry approach will encourage students to use more critical and creative thinking to solve social problems and participate more actively in society. Because the learning material from social sciences education is very closely related to the nation's social and cultural values.

Abstract

The Banjar people who are in Indragiri Hilir district are one of the examples of ethnic groups that have good social capital and social networks. Their success in adapting and interacting with the various ethnic groups that exist makes them successful in the expedition. The success of the Banjar people in Indragiri Hilir is not only supported by a good work ethic but also because of their success in building social networks between their fellow ethnicities as well as with the various existing ethnic groups. This research will examine the role of social capital and social networks owned by Banjar people in the formation of interethnic relations that exist in Indragiri Hilir district. Banjar people in the concept of this research are people or ethnic descendants of Banjar who originated from South Kalimantan and now have long lived and settled in Indragiri Hilir district. The migration of Banjar people to Indragiri Hilir has been going on for decades. Their arrival in this region was not independent of the political and economic conditions that occurred in their area of origin at the time. Due to political and financial pressure in their region of origin, they migrated to various parts of Indonesia, in particular to Indragiri Hilir district. In order to maintain their existence in the destination area, they are required to adapt. With the social capital they have, they can adapt to the new area through the social network. Through a case study approach, it is expected to reveal various phenomena of migration, social capital, and social networks among Banjar people in Indragiri Hilir district.

Abstract

A multicultural approach is an understanding of looking at the various variations that exist in Indonesian society. This diversity is described in various forms such as ethnicity, culture, language, customs and religion. By understanding these differences, it is hoped that students will understand and become a great force as a glue for the nation. The multicultural approach is a cross-border discourse. In a multicultural approach it is related to issues of social justice, democracy and human rights. It is not surprising that multicultural education is closely related to political, social, cultural, moral, social strata and religious issues. The method used in this research is a qualitative method, with the type of library research, a series of research through library data collection. The approach used in this research is a philosophical and pedagogical approach. A multicultural approach is the development of curriculum and educational activities to tap into a variety of views, histories, and concerns for other people. Meanwhile, broadly the multicultural approach covers all students without distinguishing between groups such as gender, ethnicity, race, culture, social strata and religion. Multicultural views must be reflected in social studies education learning.

Abstract

American culture background influences the content of literary work in this novel. The purpose of the research is to know an American woman identity as reflected in Eat Pray Love (EPL) novel in her pursuit of happiness. For that purpose, a thematic and descriptive, analysis is conducted to answer two research problems: 1) what constraint of woman to face in her attempts to achieve happiness; and 2) How the novel reflects of the American woman identity in her pursuit of happiness? The analysis finds out that woman faces the problem based on her culture. She is unhappy in her marriage, but the she deal with her problem in American culture identity, she attempts individual redefinition of the self by undergoing material and spiritual search and fulfillment, and finally managed to achieve her true happiness. The ego wins over the superego, and a new identity comes out of an internal conflict and an intense spiritual process. American individualism allows this. American individualism gives greater priority to individuals.

Abstract

The Competence-Based Curriculum stated that the students must be able to communicate in English with each other, both in spoken and written languages by using appropriate variety of languages within transactional and monolog discourse, including Narrative, Recount, Descriptive, Report, and Anecdote. This study tried to explore the students’ progress in writing a Recount genre and what teaching and learning activities in which might lead to students’ progress. The present study was largely qualitative. The participants of the study were the eighth grade students and one teacher at one junior high school in Tembilahan, Riau Province. In order to gain valid data the study employed triangulation of data collection method in terms of students’ texts, classroom observation, and interview. The data were analyzed qualitatively with the help of some quantitative calculation. First, data from students’ texts were analyzed qualitatively to identify the schematic structure and thematic structure, and they were also analyzed quantitatively in terms of frequency and percentage to identify the tendency of linguistic feature occurrences. Second, data from classroom observation and interview were analyzed qualitatively. Next, data from observation were summarized and classified, and data from interview were transcribed and classified according the research questions. Finally data from the three sources were synthesized to answer the research questions. It is found that the students showed progress in writing a Recount genre. Data from the analysis of students’ writing showed that the students were able to create a Recount text with appropriate schematic structure and linguistic features. Additionally, they also applied good thematic structure in joint construction text and final text. Data from classroom observation showed that the students improved their attitude in writing activities from the first meeting to the sixth one. Data from interview with the teacher also showed that the students made meaningful progress in which they made fewer mistakes in grammar and punctuation. The teacher also said that the students used more appropriate English expressions. The findings of the study also reveal that the teacher employed genre based approach which involved: BKOF, MOT, JCOT, and ICOT stages. And the teaching and learning activities which lead to the students’ progress in writing Recount genre are the activities in BKOF, MOT, and JCOT. The results of this study are expected to provide information on the actual condition of teaching and learning activities in writing a Recount genre. They may also become useful sources for English teacher to investigate students’ progress and to provide informative input for other researchers who intend to conduct research in the same field with certain interest.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of impactful curriculum administration based on the Merdeka Curriculum at SD Negeri 008 Benteng, Sungai Batang District, through a deep learning approach. This descriptive qualitative research involved teachers, school administrators, and education stakeholders as the main informants. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation analysis. The research gap identified shows that while 80% of Indonesian schools have implemented the Merdeka Curriculum since 2024, significant challenges remain in aligning administrative documentation with reflective and deep learning-oriented practices. The findings reveal that the school's curriculum administration has begun to adapt to Merdeka Curriculum principles, emphasizing student-centeredness, flexibility, and meaningful learning experiences. However, critical gaps exist in integrating the three pillars of deep learning (mindful, meaningful, durable) into administrative processes. The study introduces a novel framework for "Reflective Administrative Documentation" that bridges traditional bureaucratic requirements with transformative educational practices. This research contributes to the field by providing empirical evidence of successful integration strategies and proposing a replicable model for other elementary schools. The study suggests that continuous professional development, leadership support, and systematic documentation reform are key to ensuring impactful curriculum implementation that truly transforms learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penyusunan buku biografi ini ditulis untuk memenuhi permintaan dari berbagai pihak, di antaranya dari pihak keluarga besar Guru Khalidi dan para alumni (santri yang pernah belajar dengan almarhum), selain itu juga untuk memenuhi keinginan pemerintah daerah Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, terutama dari Dinas Periwisata yang mendorong setiap anggota masyarakat daerah ini yang mana pada ketika hidupnya tersebut pernah berkecimpung dalam kegiatan sosial seperti guru yang mempelopori berdirinya suatu kegiatan masyarakat, mendirikan lembaga pendidikan seperti Madrasah, Majelis Ta’lim maka anggota masyarakat yang seperti itu harus diabadikan sejarah hidupnya dalam bentuk buku biografi. Dalam penyusunan biografi ini, metode yang penyusun gunakan adalah metode wawancara langsung kepada keluarga Guru Khalidi, santri dan alumni yang menjadi murid beliau, masyarakat Desa Kuala Muda Ujung Tembilahan Barat yang menjadi tempat pergaulan beliau selama hidup.Tujuan dari pembuatan biografi sebenarnya untuk membagikan kisah kehidupan seseorang. Kisah tersebut nantinya bisa menjadi teladan atau contoh yang baik untuk memotivasi pembaca maka penyusunan biografi Guru Khalidi bin H. Qadri dimaksudkan untuk mengenang jasa-jasa perjuangannya dalam mensyi’arkan agama Islam di tengah masyarakat di mana ia mustauthin (tinggal), agar kifrahnya tersebut dapat dibaca, dikenang dan dteladani oleh generasi muda atau masyarakat secara umum.
