Abstract

In the 20 kV distribution system, insulated cables and conductors of fibrous and solid copper are used. Some problems on 20 kV system occur due to the line length of the lines. This obstacle occurs in the cable, mostly at the cable connection. To overcome this problem, a cable connection technique known as extothermic welding was developed. However, in this process, it is also undeniable that there is a thickening due to the contact which causes the uneven distribution of the electric field in the cable. To see the distribution of the electric field on the surface of the cable that was carried out by the exothermic welding process, a simulation was carried out in FEMM 4.2 with 3 final connection conditions, namely perfect jointing, jointing with a thickness of 0.5 mm and jointing with a thickness of 1 mm. As a result of this imperfect connection, the distribution of the electric field on the surface cable is uneven. There was a high electric field surge at the ends of the cable joint with a thickness of 1 mm and a reduced surge in the cable with a thickness of 0.5 mm at the joint. In a perfect connection, the distribution of the electric field occurs evenly.

Abstract

The need for electricity is increasing along with population growth. The main electricity supply (PLN) is not always continuous in its distribution, so alternative power is needed, namely generators. The ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) system can transfer the voltage source to the load. The ATS system is equipped with IOT in the form of a Blynk application on Android which functions as a controller and can send ATS damage notifications. This research was conducted to meet the electricity needs. Users can monitor, control and maintain the ATS system in the event of a breakdown. The method in this study uses a quantitative method, namely data collection by testing the ATS system and testing the IOT Blynk application function as a notification of damage to the ATS system. The result of transferring the PLN voltage to the generator is only 7 seconds and 3 seconds vice versa. There was damage to the lamp cable 1 time, the relay 1 time, and the fan cable 2 times. The results of measuring the current and voltage of the PLN source: lamp load 0.02A, 3.4V; fan 0.04A, 3.5V; AC motor 0.04A, 4V. Generator current and voltage measurements are as follows: lamp load 0.02 A, 9.1V; 0.03A, 9V fan; AC motor 0.05A, 4.5V.

Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country with 40% of the population's livelihood provided by farmers. Harvested rice typically has a moisture content of 20-27% on a wet basis. The type of artificial dryer that is often used is the tub or rotary type. This research aims to develop a rice dryer using a combined tray and rotary-type method. Based on the result, the higher the speed dryer, the shorter the drying time. The net result of this test is that the relationship between time and engine speed is inversely proportional. Rice drying results can be described as dry, but not including ready-to-eat rice standards. The higher the speed, the shorter the drying time.

Abstract

Technological developments in materials are increasingly evolving, one form of development is the type of composite insulation. One of the natural fiber composites currently available is a composite from palm fiber which provides increased dielectric strength. Partial discharge due to voids in the composite results in structures such as electrical treeing due to changes in the properties and morphology of the composite causing increased insulation failure and disrupting power distribution. This research tested the strength of Epoxy composite insulation and palm leaf ash filler. By combining these two materials, a complementary composite insulating material will be formed to prevent electrical treeing. The results of the research show that the composite insulating material with nipa palm fiber as filler has an average breakdown voltage value of 40 kV and is above the standard breakdown voltage value for medium voltage insulators of 30 kV. The addition of more and more palm leaf ash filling material will produce voids, thereby accelerating the occurrence of electrical treeing and decreasing the breakdown voltage of the insulation.

Abstract

Ujungmanik Village has a eucalyptus oil distillery with essential oil products produced of 100 kg per year. The problem is that the waste from the eucalyptus oil distillation, in the form of twigs and leaves from the eucalyptus oil distillation, accumulates and reduces the production area. The purpose of this study was to design a eucalyptus waste compost fertilizer packaging machine with the addition of a load cell sensor. The method used in making this compost fertilizer packaging machine is a PLC control system for the packaging section and ESP8266 is used to control the load cell sensor for weighing during the packaging process. The test results show that the eucalyptus oil distillation waste compost fertilizer packaging machine based on the PLC control system is capable of packaging 1000-gram organic fertilizer by the load cell sensor and is capable of packaging 10 plastic bags. Based on the monitoring results through the Blynk application, the packaging has an average value of 994.1 grams and an error percentage of 2.1%

Abstract

Widarapayung Wetan is one of the innovation villages in Cilacap Regency with the method of developing a one-stop destination tourist area. The development of tourist areas certainly attracts visitors and the public to be able to gather and have activities at the same location. This innovation certainly requires various facilities and infrastructure to support development. To support the government's program in developing the use of new and renewable energy and developing an innovation village in the village of Widarapayung Wetan, an infrastructure to support visitor facilities was made in the one-stop destination tourist area of ​​Widarapayung Wetan Village. The Solar Electric Device Charging Station (S – EDCS) uses solar system technology so that it will not burden the use of PLN's electrical energy. The use of solar energy also provides knowledge for the surrounding community to be able to innovate to develop electricity needs using the S – EDCS tool which is implemented in the village of Widarapayung Wetan. The installation of S – EDCS is a Social Innovation for the community that has not existed before in Widarapayung Wetan Village.

Abstract

Ujungmanik Village, Kawunganten District, Cilacap Regency, which is in the Segara Anakan Cilacap area, has natural resources, especially eucalyptus plants, which have the potential to develop the economy of the village community. The biggest problem faced by LMDH Dadi Makmur as a unit that manages the eucalyptus oil business is that after the production of eucalyptus oil distillation, it will produce residual waste from cajuput oil twigs and leaves with quite a large volume and only be left piled up around the yard where the distillery is, causing area storage of essential oil raw materials is narrow and also takes a long time to become organic fertilizer. The innovation offered through this community service activity is implementing a briquette printing machine from eucalyptus oil refining waste which is energy efficient and based on solar panels. The results of the dedication show that the eucalyptus oil waste processing activity in addition to reducing environmental pollution also produces biomass briquettes that can be utilized by the residents of Ujungmanik Village as a leading economic product of Ujungmanik Village.  Keyword: Cajuput oil, briquette, solar panels

Abstract

Usaha Karya Bamboo Weaving Center is a bamboo weaving craft institution located in RT 02 RW 04 Dusun Bokol Kulon, Banjarwaru Village. It is managed independently by Hadi Tuslam Ranantika together with the community. This group started the business with 14 members who were tasked with making bamboo weaving crafts based on local wisdom, such as bags, clothes, baskets, bamboo boxes, flower vases, tissue holders, and other accessories. The biggest problem partners face is that the large number of orders cannot be fulfilled due to the limited availability of raw bamboo weaving materials. This is because they still rely on the conventional bamboo weaving process, which is labor-intensive and requires limited human resources to prepare the weaving materials. The purpose of this activity is to address the poor management system, which causes low efficiency in operations, quality control, and hinders long-term planning. Community service activities, including the application of bamboo weaving machine technology and the creation of a product sales system website for the bamboo weaving center in Banjarwaru Village, have helped increase the productivity and sales of partner products. The production results from the shredding machine enable the preparation of material requirements for 60 products per day, thereby exceeding the demand for raw materials by 50 products per day.
