Abstract

Kata kunci: rekam medis; monitoring; evaluasi kinerja; mutu pelayanan; pengabdian masyarakat ABSTRACTProblems within medical record units in several hospitals are still frequently encountered, particularly related to the lack of monitoring and evaluation (monev) of staff performance. This situation leads to an imbalance of workload, errors in diagnostic coding, and difficulties in staff coordination. The aim of this community service activity was to enhance the understanding of medical record staff regarding the importance of monitoring and evaluation as an effort to support the quality of hospital services. The activity was carried out at Mitra Paramedika Hospital on August 5, 2025, using a socialization method and was attended by 10 participants from the medical record unit. The stages of the activity included: (1) initial coordination with the hospital management and the medical record unit; (2) preparation of materials and evaluation instruments; (3) implementation of socialization and participatory discussions; (4) administration of pre-test and post-test; and (5) monitoring and evaluation of the follow-up actions. Evaluation was conducted through pre-test and post-test to measure knowledge improvement and participatory discussions to identify actual problems in the field. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding by 13.6% from pre-test to post-test, and produced recommendations such as the need for more specific monitoring and evaluation instruments tailored to the job descriptions of medical record staff, the establishment of regular evaluation forums, and the utilization of digitalization to ensure that monitoring results are more accurate and easier to follow up. Thus, this activity contributed to improving the managerial soft skills of medical record staff and supported the achievement of more optimal quality in medical record services. Keywords: medical records; monitoring; performance evaluation; service quality; community service

Abstract

Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) are beneficial in improving patient care management in healthcare facilities. RSUD dr. Rehatta, Central Java Province, has implemented EMRs since 2023, but no evaluation has yet been conducted regarding nurses' satisfaction with their utilization. This study is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The research design is a case study, and data were collected through in-depth interviews with seven informants. The content dimension was rated as less satisfactory due to the complexity of the anamnesis module. The accuracy dimension did not fully meet user expectations. The format dimension was also rated as suboptimal due to inefficiencies. The timeline dimension was considered good, while the ease of use dimension was rated positively, as data entry was deemed simple. The implementation of the Inova system in the outpatient clinic of RSUD dr. Rehatta has shown benefits, but some user complaints remain. Immediate improvement strategies include simplifying content, reducing information delivery delays, and enhancing system usability.

Abstract

Adolescent anemia is a public health problem requiring special attention. It is commonly caused by iron deficiency related to rapid growth, menstrual blood loss, poor nutritional intake, unhealthy dietary habits, and inadequate knowledge about iron-rich foods and anemia prevention. Low adherence to iron supplementation and frequent consumption of foods that inhibit iron absorption further increase risk. Evidence shows that 16% of 50 adolescents experienced anemia. Effective educational strategies are needed to improve knowledge and attitudes. Health education becomes more attractive for adolescents when delivered using game-based learning, such as Monopoly educational media. To determine the effectiveness of GEMARA (Monopoly Educational Game on Anemia) using the Health Belief Model approach in improving adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes toward anemia prevention. A quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was conducted among 38 FORPIS PMI Yogyakarta members using total sampling. Intervention consisted of one session of health education using the GEMARA game with a peer-group approach. Data were collected with validated and reliable questionnaires adapted from previous studies (r > 0.361; Cronbach alpha > 0.70). Knowledge (numeric) and attitudes (ordinal) were analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test with SPSS 23. Knowledge improved significantly from fair (47.4%) and good (47.4%) to 76.3% good, with no poor category. Positive attitudes increased from 50% to 100%. Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test indicated significant improvement (p=0.000; p=0.002). This improvement was driven by interactive learning that increased engagement and motivation. GEMARA is effective in improving adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes toward anemia prevention through the Health Belief Model.
