Abstract

Abstract

Hypertension or high blood pressure is a severe global health problem and is often a significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Monitoring blood pressure regularly can help identify potential health problems quickly, enabling better treatment and preventive measures to avoid more severe problems, especially in cases of hypertension. Community service was conducted on Sunday, July 30, 2023, using a direct examination approach to residents who attended the PRIM & PRIA Kampung Pandan Malaysia branch deliberation event. The results of the examination showed that 20 residents were suffering from hypertension, or 46% of participants were suffering from hypertension. Twenty-three residents do not suffer from hypertension, 54%. Hypertension is characterized by increased blood pressure in the body's arteries, which can cause severe complications if not treated properly. Adults should check their blood pressure regularly as part of preventive health care. We encourage people to check their blood pressure regularly, especially if they are at high risk or have a family history of high blood pressure. Routine examinations allow for early detection and good management.

Abstract

Most villages in Bandung Regency still experience a high prevalence of stunting. Because of this, ten villages spread across eight sub-districts in this area are a priority for handling stunting. In Katapang Village, the coverage of stunted toddlers in 2021 is 13.09%, and is a village with a stunting locus. Research conducted in 2022 shows that only 36.9% of babies receive exclusive breast milk in children with stunting status in Katapang Village, Bandung Regency. This activity aims to empower breastfeeding mothers independently in preventive efforts to prevent stunting in children. The method used is providing health education demonstrations and practical work on one of the complementary therapies to increase breast milk production, namely oxytocin massage. The fundamental contribution of this activity is that a chain of information is formed for breastfeeding mothers through information media that can be disseminated to the community. In the activity, a direct output evaluation of the activity was carried out by knowing that there was an increase in pre-test and post-test results after being given Health Education material. The results of the increase in pre-test and post-test results were 27%. Evaluation of the implementation of oxytocin massage practice is the mother's ability to perform oxytocin massage independently correctly.

Abstract

Women in worldwide had experienced dysmenorrhea, with 10-15% experiencing severe dysmenorrhea. The intensity and pain can affect sleep quality. Out of 51 female undergraduate midwifery students, 20 of them experienced dysmenorrhea. They reported having difficulty sleeping and often slept after 11 PM. During lectures, some of them felt exhausted. This study aimed to identify the correlation between nutritional status and sleep quality with the occurrence of primary dysmenorrhea in midwifery students. This research was a quantitative study with an analytic cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 107 undergraduate midwifery students selected using a total sampling technique. Data collection involved measuring the weight and height of respondents to categorize their body mass index (BMI), and then the respondents completed the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire and the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) questionnaire for primary dysmenorrhea. Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman rank correlation test. The results showed a significant negative correlation between nutritional status and the occurrence of dysmenorrhea, as well as a meaningful correlation between sleep quality and primary dysmenorrhea in midwifery students. Based on this research, we concluded that there was a correlation between nutritional status and sleep quality with the occurrence of primary dysmenorrhea.
