Abstract

Reading is very important to be learned by everyone, especially those who are in education. Therefore, teachers try to improve students' reading skills, one of which is by implementing scramble learning media. This study aims to improve students' reading skills through scramble learning media. This research method uses a qualitative method with the type of Classroom Action Research (PTK), which consists of 2 cycles and each cycle has 2 meetings. The data collection techniques are through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study obtained from the application of scramble-based learning media to teachers in cycle I from 52% to 64% and for cycle II from 75% to 88%. The application of scramble-based learning media to students in cycle I from 39% to 50%, and for cycle II from 61% to 66%. Meanwhile, for students' reading skills before the implementation of this scramble learning media, the percentage value was 37%, after the implementation of the scramble media, students' skills increased with cycle I from 37% to 53%, and for cycle II from 72% to 79%. Thus, through the implementation of this scramble-based learning media, it can improve students' reading skills at SDN 014 Pulau Binjai.

Abstract

Al Fityah Elementary School students and girls experience various learning difficulties such as difficulty concentrating or focusing on the material being taught, difficulty communicating thoughts and opinions to other people, difficulty communicating well, difficulty solving complicated problems that require students to think critically, and difficulty Arranging words and sentences correctly, this is interesting. This research aims to describe the types of learning difficulties of students at SDIT Al Fityah Pekanbaru, in order to understand the steps taken by teachers in overcoming the learning difficulties of participants at SDIT Al Fityah Pekanbaru. This research uses a qualitative approach. Teachers take steps to make student learning easier, namely directing and paying attention to students who experience learning difficulties, utilizing the learning environment, presenting assignments and exercises to create a desire for independent learning in students, directing students to study in groups using interesting learning. role models and rewards for students so that students feel happy and motivated in learning. Teachers also connect the material taught with students' daily lives, so that students easily understand the concepts being taught.

Abstract

Peers play a very important role in character formation, especially students' disciplined character. One of the roles of peers is to provide encouragement or motivation to other friends. The aim of this research is to find out the role of peers in forming disciplined character and the impact of the role of peers. The method in this research uses descriptive qualitative methods using words or narratives to analyze and describe certain phenomena. The results of this research are that peers can help in forming a disciplined character, in the end a person must have internal motivation and personal commitment to remain disciplined.

Abstract

The results of the study conducted from 34 elderly people with diabetes mellitus at the Tresna Werdha Budi Sejahtera II Martapura Social Home, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province, obtained results and from 34 (100%) respondents experienced tooth loss due to cavities and shaky teeth, and none of the respondents had healthy periodontal tissue, from the results of the examination obtained as many as 30 (88.24%) respondents experienced pocket 4-5 mm, 2 (5.88%) respondents experienced bleeding gums and 2 (5.88%) respondents had tartar that needed to be treated for periodontal tissue in the elderly (Utami, NK, et al., 2018). The purpose of community service is to carry out: Efforts to Prevent Caries and Periodontal Disease in the Elderly with Diabetes Mellitus at the Tresna Werdha Budi Sejahtera II Martapura Social Home, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The number of residents is 61 elderly people located at the Tresna Werdha Budi Sejahtera II Martapura Social Home, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. During community service activities, 47 elderly people who suffer from diabetes mellitus responded. The results obtained were that 23 respondents (48.9%) had a ≤ number of teeth 6 teeth, 35 respondents (74.5%) who did not caries and based on periodontal disease with the most score of 0 were 23 respondents (48.9%), this was because most of the respondents no longer had teeth (toothless). It is recommended that dental care and tartar cleaning are needed for the elderly at the Tresna Werdha Budi Sejahtera II Martapura Social Home, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. This is to reduce the number of dental pain and tooth loss in the elderly.
