Abstract

This article explores the intricate relationship between culture and the contemporary status of women in Indonesia, reflecting on how traditional values interact with modern societal changes. In recent decades, Indonesia has witnessed significant transformations, influenced by globalization, technological advancements, and women's empowerment movements. The paper examines the way modern Indonesian women negotiate their identities within a cultural framework that historically espouses patriarchal norms. Through qualitative analysis, this research reveals the duality faced by women balancing cultural expectations with personal aspirations. It highlights the roles of education, employment, and social media in reshaping women's perspectives and contributing to the evolving discourse on gender equality. Conclusively, this study emphasizes that while modern Indonesian women are increasingly pushing against the constraints of traditional culture, they continue to navigate a complex landscape where these cultural narratives shape their realities. The findings suggest that fostering an understanding of cultural contexts is necessary for promoting gender equality in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the impact of utilizing the Beelinguapp program on the reading comprehension skills of second semester students in the Faculty of Social and Political Science, specifically in the area of understanding recount texts. This study utilizes a quantitative approach and follows a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The study population consists of students enrolled in the Faculty of Social and Political Science. The sampling technique use random sampling to select a sample of 31 students in the second semester class. Data collection is conducted through the use of pretest and posttest measures. The Shapiro-Wilk normalcy test is employed for doing normality testing. The Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test is a non-parametric statistical method employed for data analysis in this research. According to the data, the average score in the pretest and posttest increased from 76.87 to 86.97. The normalcy test indicates that the pretest has a significance value of 0.000, whereas the posttest has a significance value of 0.002. The significance value analysis indicates that the dataset obtained from 31 students does not follow a normal distribution, as evidenced by a significance value of less than 0.05. The analysis results from the test statistic output show that the asymp. sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.000 < 0.05. A significance value smaller than 0.05 indicates that there is an average difference that makes Ha accepted and Ho rejected. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the Beelinguapp application to enhance the reading comprehension of recount text of eighth-class students at Faculty of Social and Politics Science. The researcher aspires for this study to serve as a research reference for upcoming research.

Abstract

Education is a complex and continuous process that involves the transfer of knowledge, skills, values and culture from one generation to the next. The teaching and learning process is an investment in character building, creativity and leadership. Education is also a major milestone in shaping the entrepreneurial character of students based on innovation by utilizing local wisdom. Local wisdom itself has not been fully developed and well managed, especially local wisdom in remote and underdeveloped areas. Education in Indonesia is currently facing a number of challenges that can affect the effectiveness of the education system as a whole. Some of the problems that can be identified are the existence of educational inequality in various regions, the high unemployment rate after graduating from school, the lack of educators, the lack of learning materials at school, and the immature character education of students. This writing aims to find out and explain how the Educulture Entrepreneurship strategy in improving the quality of education in Indonesia is analyzed from the Sustainable Development Goals. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative research with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and literature studies from several sources of books and relevant scientific articles. The result of this research is that collaboration between education, local wisdom, and entrepreneurship is an effective way to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. Through an educational innovation program with the theme of Educulture Entrepreneurship, namely conducting an Indramayu mango development project. This can be an educational curriculum development, developing PjBL-based learning projects, developing creative, innovative, and collaborative learning, empowering research-based local wisdom, developing MSME products, creating sustainable entrepreneurial opportunities, creating educational tourism for junior and senior high school students, providing training for students, and can be a forum for empowering local communities to the creation of IPR.

Abstract

The integration of Virtual Reality (VR) technology into foreign language teaching has emerged as a transformative approach to enhance both the effectiveness and engagement of students. This study explores the impact of VR on language acquisition by examining its ability to provide immersive and interactive learning environments that traditional classroom settings may lack. A mixed-methods research design was employed, combining quantitative measures of language proficiency with qualitative assessments of student engagement and motivation. The study involved 200 participants from various educational institutions, utilizing VR applications specifically designed for language learning. Results indicate a significant improvement in language proficiency scores among students who engaged with VR-based instruction compared to those who received conventional teaching methods. Additionally, qualitative data revealed heightened levels of motivation, engagement, and positive attitudes toward language learning within the VR group. The findings suggest that VR can facilitate experiential learning, contextual understanding, and real-time feedback, thereby addressing common challenges in language education such as lack of practice opportunities and limited exposure to native speakers. The study also discusses the implications for curriculum design, teacher training, and the scalability of VR technologies in diverse educational settings. While acknowledging potential barriers such as cost and accessibility, the research underscores the potential of VR to revolutionize foreign language education by creating dynamic, learner-centered environments that foster deeper cognitive and affective engagement. Future research directions include longitudinal studies to assess long-term language retention and the exploration of VR's role in developing advanced language skills such as pronunciation and conversational fluency.
